OFP is still amazing, so is goldeneye 64, so many FPS strive for the same gameplay goldeneye gave. But none can match it in my opinion. Halo 1 was the only good halo. they tried too hard on the others to top halo1 and forgot about what made it such a great game. its the simplicity of it.

The first ARMA was called ArmA with SUBTITLE Armed Assault.

The sequel is just called ARMA 2.

actually codename eagle was first, then operation flashpoint, and DICE (the developers of bf1942) did not improve on the operation flashpoint concept... they improved on the codename eagle project because they were the ones who had developed it. and opf didnt suck at all you just missed its strong parts.

i love the whole series of both but they only thing that annoys me is the missing animations of the hands turning the wheel of a car and handle bars on a bike, and the turning of the feet as u turn in a mounted turret on the ground. they are fun and realistic its just the animations that annoy me.

and I disagree about the console versions, if people want to play on a console it's their choice, plus consoles are cheaper. if you build a PC for the same price as a console you'd have an awful machine...

it's just that the PC version has to get the full focus, and after it's completely finished they can work on a console version, that way all versions will be fully optimized.

I love when companies use the same engines on their games. You can tell that one games running the same engine as the other. Flashpoint Engine, Frostbite Engine, Source Engine, etc. BTW you forgot about the VBS Series, that also is run on FPE.

The thing that, to this day, mesmerizes me about OFP is that it managed to be a decent simulation of so many facets of warfare (infantry, armor, combined arms, sabotage, aircraft...) and, on top of all of that technology, also managed to be an enjoyable, coherent game with a decent story and, at times, incredible atmosphere. ArmA is technically superior, no doubt, but it's just not a good *game* and the generic subtropical island setting just doesn't compare to the Cold War.

Gamestop is not BIS, and has no clue when it is coming. They put up dates in order to make sales. I thought it was common knowledge but I guess not.
