Mariah voice is so freaking amazing. Haters need to just stop they catch her on a bad day and jump to say she can't sing anymore. This woman has been singing Live, writeing, producing and recording music almost everyday of her life. She just needs more rest now then she did when she was 18 which is true for every human being. Her voice is just as amazing as it always was just listen to her new holiday Album "Merry Christmas II You".

@MariahCareyAngel1 True.. but at this time she was having troubles with her sister, Alisson. her and her children and Mariah and her mother Patricia were fighting for rights of child custody of Alison children.. so maybe, just maybe Mariah was thinking of them and that's why, my theory, she changed those specific words in this song. for hope , faith to them.. =^.^=

I disagree.. she may go higher at the very end of "way" but the overall quality of her voice is much better here, and she sings the song lower at the Tokyo Dome..

@roojooroojoo I agree. The tone here is fuller and huskier...even smoky (it was even fuller when she started in '90). By '96 it thinned out even though she was still able to belt high notes. So it's like her voice was thinning slowly until it started to break and get raspy.

She's made some her best music ever within the last 5 years...Fly Like a Bird, WBT, It's Like That, Bye Bye, I Wish You Well, H.A.T.E.U., Candy Bling, etc...

@roojooroojoo Nah, all the versions from the Daydream Tour are the best. It may be a half step lower, but she hits some crazy notes in the bridge and during the last chorus.

@roojooroojoo it wasn't just in the "way" part. it was also the "tear them awaaaay just hold ooon" and then the "the waaaay" and also when she did the "SURvive" thing at the end. and basically it was a very imotional performance :)

This performance here is vocally perfect and is just like the studio version.
