People saying both songs are equally good have little idea what this song actually means and the level of emotion that has to get put into singing it. Birdy likely took some lessons from her coach to hit the exact notes and make it technically correct. Justin sings it as his heart hears it. You can tell by the amount of work it sounds like he's putting into it. Nothing can compare. I went on itunes and paid for Bon Iver's new album, again, as I felt bad for gifting copies.

I love Birdy, but the emotion when Bon Iver sings this it is so raw and believable, I get goosebumps. This song is about so much more than just a voice (although i do prefer his).

Because this seems to be the main topic on this page, I just want to say that I think both versions are fucking awesome. It just depends on the emotion you want to hear and the style that you favour. This version feels more indie to me, while Birdy is more mainstream (possibly a reason as to why more people have heard of that version).

But anyway, I really don't care much about this. I can leave my music on shuffle and I couldn't care less which version comes up.

Even though I love Birdy's version, and generally she has a better voice than Bon Iver in most ways, I do prefer his version- I suppose the fact it is his song does make that factor, but also because his version is much more emotional and imperfect in a good way.
