those deer can run. good thing though that many hunters take a lot of time to perfect their shot. Though I am against the kind of hunting solely for the fun in watching an animal die, at least most true hunters don't hunt this way.
that 30-45 minute thing is garbage. ive killed 2 bow deer and each died in under a minute and only ran 30-35 yards. unless we make a bad shot they die in under 5 minutes. however my dad shot a buck back in november and he double lunged it and it ran 350 yards.

The truth is that sometimes we make bad shots, and we hate making bad shots and the deer dont die as fast..but if you hit the vitals(lungs and/or heart) a bow is just as effective, and sometimes even more effective than a firearm. The first deer i shot this year with my bow was double lunged and she ran 30 yards and dropped dead..never kicked in the leaves or anythin, just dropped stone dead. After the shot she was probly alive for about 3-4 seconds.
What is with all these people saying hunting is horrible man has done it from day one and they should be able to do it. People who say that hunting is barbaric then they would be liberals because everyone needs meat. I am 13 years old and i just killed my first deer last year. It died in about 20 seconds(but that was with a shotgun). I actually felt sorry for the deer as we watched it die. I did not enjoy watching the deer die. But i actually found the hunt fun and will hunt this year. Just beacause i hunt does not mean i like watching animals die. I do it beacause of the challenge of tracking and killing a deer. that does not make me a horrible person. animals are here beacause they are our food.

i shot a button buck with my crossbow. even with a quartering to me shot, he died 50 yards away exactly 9 seconds after the shot. he was my first deer and it was a wicked clean kill.

I saw a deer on the news with an arrow in his eye, walking around. Funny I have heard a lot of serial animal killers in Ohio say they can't find any deer. Is that because they only want a "trophy"? @sueishere25 I give blood every 3 months donate $10 every week out of my pay-check to the United Way once a month volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and give about 80 lbs of venison to the local food bank a year and I am a bow hunter . Your right dude. I get a hunting rules and regs booklet every deer season and no where in that book does it say that hunters are required to wait 30 to 45 minutes for a deer to die. i shot a doe last year with my gun, first day of gun season she ran about ten yards and dropped i gave her at least 10 minutes to be sure I wasn't sure where i hit her but when i field dressed her, i hit both lungs and small portion of the stomach but she died within atleast a minute and waited to be sure.
I have shot deer with my bow and it didn't even know what happened. It ran 20 yards and stood there looking around. Then it proceeded to fall over dead. Was it Fred Bear that said,"You can kill them with a spoon, if you hit them in the right place." Anyway, let's all go visit the anti's vids and post rude/obnoxious comments.
To be honest, I am a bow hunter, and I have seen a deer take up to 4 hours to die. Call it a bad shot, but all shots aren't perfect. Truth be told, a free animal, that wasn't tied to a concrete slab its whole life for the purpose of fattening is just to be slaughtered anyway, I will take a wild deer. Shoot it with my bow, and feed my family anyday. It LIVED. If your going to bitch about hunting, dont wear leather. Dont eat meat. Dont drink milk. Dont eat eggs, butter, etc. etc.
The point is this do bad shots happen? yes . that 30-45 minute thing is garbage. ive killed 2 bow deer and each died in under a minute and only ran 30-35 yards. unless we make a bad shot they die in under 5 minutes. however my dad shot a buck back in november and he double lunged it and it ran 350 yards.

The truth is that sometimes we make bad shots, and we hate making bad shots and the deer dont die as fast..but if you hit the vitals(lungs and/or heart) a bow is just as effective, and sometimes even more effective than a firearm. The first deer i shot this year with my bow was double lunged and she ran 30 yards and dropped dead..never kicked in the leaves or anythin, just dropped stone dead. After the shot she was probly alive for about 3-4 seconds.

@grattan100 It is perfectly ethical not to eat certain animals that you kill. Pigs are a good example. They are an invasive species, and killing them is the right thing to do every time, regardless if you can eat them or not.
They are the top cause of sea turtle nest destruction on Florida and Georgia coasts. We have experimented with birth control, trapping and moving, and a dozen other solutions. Only exterminating them is effective (after almost 30 years of trying "alternatives")

I am 13 years old and i just killed my first deer last year. It died in about 20 seconds(but that was with a shotgun). I actually felt sorry for the deer as we watched it die. I did not enjoy watching the deer die. But i actually found the hunt fun and will hunt this year. Just beacause i hunt does not mean i like watching animals die. I do it beacause of the challenge of tracking and killing a deer. that does not make me a horrible person. animals are here beacause they are our food.

I'm not against all forms of hunting any logical person understands that it's vital for our survival to hunt under certain grounds, it's not OK to hunt for game though that's sick and people that partake in this activity shouldn't have any influence on the way a society is designed. These people need professional help, one can''t reach full spiritual potential when killing innocent animals for no rational reason other than IT"S FUN. Good luck to all!

i shot a button buck with my crossbow. even with a quartering to me shot, he died 50 yards away exactly 9 seconds after the shot. he was my first deer and it was a wicked clean kill.

Here's a good idea. We should outlaw the eating of meat by any person who doesn't kill the animal themselves or have an immediate family member who killed it. Maybe the anti-hunters would get so hard up for a bigmac that they would start hunting too.

I saw a deer on the news with an arrow in his eye, walking around. Funny I have heard a lot of serial animal killers in Ohio say they can't find any deer. Is that because they only want a "trophy"? Clean shot? LOL what are the percentages of that? 2? And why are the animal serial killers killing the coyotes who were brought in to bring down the deer population. One more question. How often do you donate blood? I love to ask serial animal killers this and listen to the answers. Clean shot...LOL

@sueishere25 I give blood every 3 months donate $10 every week out of my pay-check to the United Way once a month volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and give about 80 lbs of venison to the local food bank a year and I am a bow hunter . I have never lost a deer or made any animal needlessly suffer . I can only hope that my death comes as quickly and honorably as the majestic creatures I hunt and hold in high regard ! What do you do for humanity?

i agree. i have only shot 1 deer with a bow. but about 10 sec later a heard a crash. now i thought i had a general idea where it was from the sound but it was actually about 50 yards further. alls im saying is, just because they can go really far after being shot, in a very short amount of time. Nice video!

Your right dude. I get a hunting rules and regs booklet every deer season and no where in that book does it say that hunters are required to wait 30 to 45 minutes for a deer to die. i shot a doe last year with my gun, first day of gun season she ran about ten yards and dropped i gave her at least 10 minutes to be sure I wasn't sure where i hit her but when i field dressed her, i hit both lungs and small portion of the stomach but she died within atleast a minute and waited to be sure.

I have shot deer with my bow and it didn't even know what happened. It ran 20 yards and stood there looking around. Then it proceeded to fall over dead. Was it Fred Bear that said,"You can kill them with a spoon, if you hit them in the right place." Anyway, let's all go visit the anti's vids and post rude/obnoxious comments.

To be honest, I am a bow hunter, and I have seen a deer take up to 4 hours to die. Call it a bad shot, but all shots aren't perfect. Truth be told, a free animal, that wasn't tied to a concrete slab its whole life for the purpose of fattening is just to be slaughtered anyway, I will take a wild deer. Shoot it with my bow, and feed my family anyday. It LIVED. If your going to bitch about hunting, dont wear leather. Dont eat meat. Dont drink milk. Dont eat eggs, butter, etc. etc.

The point is this do bad shots happen? yes . As a hunter or better an archer we have a higher standard we have to be perfect its not killing its hunting if you killed an animal everytime then it would be killing. the antis give the animal less credit then we do we respect this animal we love this animal we enjoy their life and their meat. I nurish them through out the summer time and in hard winters we take the old and injured deer from the herd . and a nice buck when we are able

@skunkapotamus how long do u think it would take with an inch and a half hole in ur heart or through both lungs, thats what i thought. people die almost instantly when shot with a twenty two in the chest which is at most a quarter inch hole u do the math buddy its virtually almost instant death when shot with a bow or gun in the vitals.

What happens when you hit the shoulder bone and you dont get sufficient penetration? How big are your groups at thirty yards? Not as good as mine with a .243 at 300. Fact is, you idiots are throwback testosterone jackasses only trying to prove what a great fucking hunter you are. Guns not enough of a challenge for you, eh?
