  • Thanks a lot, Mr. Masami, Sir. Btway, the last shot of Teresa, how old was she then?

  • @Kuramochi0214

Sorry, I hope some other fan of her could answer this, as I am simply enjoying her songs.

  • i don't understand nothing at all about what the songs says...but im in love with it..love Teresa's voice, sounds like an angel..everything is beautiful on her songs...

  • i prefer this version than the chinese....i love teresa teng! even if i am a filipino

  • 1:49 - 2:05 再见了我的爱人 我将永远不会忘记你 也希望 你不要把我忘记 也许 我们将来 还会有见面的一天 不是吗? good-bye my love I will never forget you I also hope that you won't forget me too Perhaps, there will be a day we can meet each other in the future Isn't it?

  • This song is like a sweet cherry pie. The cherry pie is so sweet, but it is soon gone (eaten), and she is sad, but she hopes to see another cherry pie again. I love her voice! It's so adorable and joyful! It makes me smile/grin as wide as possible whenever I hear this soothing, yet entertaining song. Thanks for putting it up!

  • It is publicly known and a legend that Teresa tears will flow every time she sang this sad song! Two version of her love story Teresa love a man from Malaysia ,1]Teresa love a man, but forbidden by the man's parent 2] The man die young , Teresa cried every time she visited the man's grave in Malaysia [as told by Teresa own brother].

Teresa died a lonely and sad, unmarried woman.

  • @yuyuhuli The man in Malaysia died in 1978. The second version happened in 1982. At the time she performed live in 1976, she cried for a different set of circumstances. She did visit the Malaysian man's grave a few times after 1978 and went to a local temple to pray.

  • @HKshipsForTeresaTeng

SAD...but who were that Malaysian men??? where???

  • @yuyuhuli Mr. Lin, a young executive 8 yrs Miss Teng's senior, knew her while she was touring SE Asia in the late 1960's and early 1970's. He and Miss Teng parted in late 1973 when she entered advanced training in Japan signed with Japan Polydor. He died of a heart attack in 1978.

  • @HKshipsForTeresaTeng THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • In the middle, when she began talking, he used Chinese. However, her voice is still so pure and natural. Anybody would love this song! She's really good at Japanese, even though I think she's Chinese. Otherwise, it'll be the other way around.

  • @fantasyofprincesses TERESA a true blue blood Taiwanese Chinese, spoke at least 7 languages fluently...

  • I came across her Japanese songs at a KTV and fell for her and her songs rite away. Her beautiful voice and the way she presents all her songs will be forever with us. Thanks for uploading.

  • This song was very popular when I was about 10 ... brings back my childhood memories.

  • When this song was sung, I was only 7. Love this song very much. Listen to her songs most of the time in Japanese and Chinese..!!! Missing her much..!!!

  • Thank you so much Masami. Your dedication to Teresa memory and music, like George's has no equal. Your wonderful presentations and translations have opened her enormous Japanese works to the world. We Westerners are all eternally grateful. Obviously your work is so great that it has become the standard for stupid people who think they can steal it and credit it to themselves. Know that we all will be on the lookout and will do our best to preserve your name, your effort and love.

  • What a beautiful, impressing & romantic song.Once loving someone and then farewell coming up afterward. It seems to be a hard thing to experience.

  • u know that classic chinese music u hearin chinese restaurants? anyone know what its called?

  • This is different than the chinese version. the first line of the Chinese version (Roughly translated) is: Goodbye my love, my lover, good bye.

  • thousand thanks for sharing.

  • Teresa Teng sung the Japanese song in 1974, but her Mandarin version was released in 1975, alongside with her Mandarin versions of her initial Japanese songs.

Soon, the Mandarin version of Goodbye My Love became Teresa Teng's 1st Mandarin signature song before Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin took over after its release in 1977. Tian Mi Mi also become her 2nd top signature song after Yue Liang dai Biao Wo De Xin, released in 1982 (during her absence in Japan due to the contract cut with Polydor).

  • I miss you Teresa!

  • You brought so much pleasure and comfort to us through your beautiful songs. We will not forget you, Miss Teresa Teng.

  • I love this song so much whether it sung by the late Teresa Teng or Ann Lewis. Anyone has the lyric?

  • The Romaji lyrics are prepared at the right side. Please enjoy.

  • masami43

I am sorry. I am new at this. You did write that the Romaji lyrics are prepared at the right side. I cannot find them. Thank you.

  • So let me understand it straight. The song "Good Bye My Love" was an original Japanese song? Then Teresa, a Chinese performer, popularized it. Got it.

  • Yes, this song was a hit song of Ann Lewis in Japan as the original song.

Later, Teresa popularlized this song in Asia, as she similarly popularlized many other Japanese songs in Asian countries.

  • Hi Masami43 you must an ardent fan of the late Teresa Teng and Ann Lewis. Do you have the japanese lyric?

  • masami43

    You are very good.

I like Teresa teng song very much.

  • Hi masami43, thank you for this superb contribution:) Never tired of listening TT's one of the many TT's trademark music.

  • Ann Lewis and Teresa Teng were friends each other on those days. Because they can speak English even in Japan. On those days Teresa did not speak Japanese fluently except English. Of course she spoke English fluently same as Ann.

  • really?! they're friends?thanks for letting us know.

  • thanks for having posted this....i have cried when i heard this song

  • hi masami43 thnx for TT's lovely song

  • thnx 4 sharing the song

  • Please soothe your broken heart with this Teresas beautiful song.

You will be able to understand the meaning of the Japanese lyrics from my description at the right corner.

  • Thank you for sharing.

    I love this song.

  • I think it's a Taiwanese song with two words in English and Western musical features. But it is not a Western song.

  • Thank you for the comments from the two gentlemen.

This song was originally prepared by a Japanese composer and a Japanese lyrycist. Please also read the description at the right side.

  • Let me understand this: So the song Good Bye My Love was originally written and sung by a Taiwanese performer? I thought it was adapted from an American song, I don't know which one though.

  • So sad yet so sweet, I miss her! :-(

  • 5 stars!.... Excellent! Because of your translations you made it easy for Teresa Teng fans (like me)to learn to sing this song. Thank you.
