@savanahrachele You can do something similar for sure. Did you see Cat Deely on So You Think You Can Dance last night? And have you seen Ilovegerardo's Elizabeth Taylor hairstyle? They both have very long hair.
I was wondering if you could do a video on the hair Rosalie Hale wears in her Flashback in the movie Eclipes, it is also a vintage hairstyle. If would help me out a lot because im planning on doing that hair for hollaween and i would love it by then, but when ever you can is good. thanks so much! Your hair looks great in this one btw.
So.. I love your videos! Great classy hairstyles! I'm going to get my hair cut short so I can try these out. I guess you can say that you inspired me haha. But I will be watching more and I can't wait! :D great job with your videos!
So.. I love your videos! Great classy hairstyles! I'm going to get my hair cut short so I can try these out. I guess you can say that you inspired me haha. But I will be watching more and I can't wait! :D great job with your videos!
you know whats also cute to do with bangs? instead of small sponge rollers i pin curled my bangs to give me the kiss bang on both sides of my head i loved it :) thx for this video! it helped tremendously :)
Omgsh you really look like the women from the the 30's! :D Gorgeous...How can I make a 30's hair style with my long hair? My hair is down to almost my waist..
Thank you so much for doing these tutorials!! xoxo They are the most helpful videos I have ever seen and believe me dahling, it's nice to learn a trick or two. <3
You saved my life!!! I'm in a hair & makeup competiton tonight and I knew this was the look I wanted, but couldn't get it right with all my practice....to think it was this simple the whole time. Guess I over thunk it...lol. Tried it your way and it took me no time. Thank You soo much for your help.
This turned out great! I've been using rollers for about a year now, and I think some of your technique will help improve my looks. By the way, this might seem odd to say, but I think you have a really pretty profile.
Thanks so much for your videos! I've been experimenting with pin curls for a while now, but I've always had trouble with knowing where to place them and how to brush them out!
I wish my technique was better. I need to practise more. I've done this kind of things a few times just from trial and error, and it works, but not this well.
I was literally just wishing there was a tutorial exactly like this just this morning! I bought this lovely blue felt 1930's hat recently and pictured it with this exact style. FABULOUS!!! Thank you.
Yes, I realize that. As I mentioned in the disclaimer I attatched, this video was really more about following the book's instructions and the results so the b&w was an artistic approach to that. I don't plan to post any of my own tutorials in b&w , especially when details are involved. Thanks!
Is this from a different Lauren Rennels pinup hair book. I have what I thought was the only book of hers on the subject, but mine has a completely different cover photo. Was there a sequel, and nobody told me?
This is from the 2nd edition and yes, it does contain some more things that weren't in the original book. I did a review on the book and will post it as a video response.
In the absence of Layrite, what else could substitute? My husband uses a goo on his flat top, but the container doesn't say "pomade". Think it might work kind that same? Ordering the Layrite, btw.
I havent had good success w/ other'shine enhancing/ defrizzing' products. It either makes my hair look oily or impossible to manage...when I run out of Layrite I don't both putting anything in it. haha.
Off the subject, but your hallway looks rather creepy this video. I can't stop looking at it. I feel like someone is going to pop out and scream Boo or something! haha Anyways I love you videos. Great tutorial. I am going to try this soon.
I did a review on it recently...I posted the links in the sidebar...there are actually several place you can buy it. The review is called "Vintage Hairstyling book Review' or something like that. :)
Doh! Right after I 'slapped your hand', Lauren sent me a sweet email and notified me that I didnt follow directions *exactly* either...how embarassing! I'm so going to post an annotation.
i actually use this hairstyle as an "updo" for me. cause i get sick of wearing my hair down and a pony tail never includes the layers that frame my face/ chin length. so i also just pin my long layers up and wear my hair like a bob :) tis such a cute style
I received my book through the post last week (very very exciting) and this was in my top 5 to try...yay!...now when I'm doing it horribly wrong I can refer to you and get myself back on the straight and narrow!
Very nice! I think I am going to have my hubby get me the book as part of my x-mas presents. I lost my job and he lost all of his overtime, so money is tight right now...but for x-mas...I could see that. hee hee
And I am SO happy you are back to the 30's 40's and 50's looks. I just cannot get into anything past around 1960 or so. IMO that is when it all went downhill. Movies, cars, clothes, hair, music...all of it.
I really hope you'll do a finger wave too, the technique is sort of a mistery for me... I read about it and tried to do it myself but it just doesn't work..
I love it, is so cute, so girly. I'm reading the book these days and I really like it, though some of the instructions seem like too much hard work for me... but it is sooooooo interesting to find out how all this pretty styles are and were done!
oh i loooove your tutorials! i have a 50's party soon and i'm really looking forward to it^^ I'm also saving for a curling iron, i'm a total curling-iron-noob so i wondered if you had any recommandations (that are not toooo expensive!)? thanks in advance!
Love it! I'm getting more and more excited about my book coming in the mail soon! Thank you for all the work you put into these videos. You do an excellent job.
Love it! I'm currently looking into buying Lauren's book (it looks fantastic!) and it's all because I've heard about it from you. :) This is just the sweetest look too. Brava!
Thanks so much! I was afraid people would be turned off my the black and white coloring. I'm getting used to my new set up...at least it's as good as my bathroom was. :)
Yes I understand, which is why I talked through it in instead of title cards only. During the area that I did the title cards, the actual process is not as important. Ah well, I'm working on it.
I love the black and white, keeping it vintage. But I did have trouble seeing everything.
