  • Wow, that was intense!

  • All stop on the sub would have saved the tug.

  • @rbrown3rd I agree, gross negligence of command on the submarine

  • I still don't understand why the tug sank. It seemed to be following the sub. Also, if its engine had failed, how could it follow the sub? It seemed to be crashing into the sub. Did the diving plane cut a hole in the hull of the tug?

  • why didnt the sub stop while doing the transfer????

  • go down and get it hahahaha

  • Why didn't the sub stop? It appears it was moving the whole time.

  • holy shit the tug went down fast, i didn't know a boat could go under that quickly.

  • Suprised the Sub skipper didnt order all stop when it became obvious the tug wasn't going to pull away from the hull.

And yes, multirichard is right on his spelling of Manoeuvre.

  • crazy stuff man, must be intense

  • Because, dipshit, if you read through the comments, someone who appears to HAVE read the report says that the USS Socota had an engine failure at 00:30, which is why there is an alarm sound at this time, the tug stops, and someone in a boilersuit runs towards the engine room stairway. And for your information, I have spent 22 years working as a naval architect analysing ship collisions and accidents. And in my country, you spell it "manoeuvre", you uneducated arsehole. So FUCK OFF, yank.

  • @multirichard007 You British?

  • @Redmanfms I spoke to a Navy sub captain about this, he says it depends on how rough the waters are. If its calm waters, no need to maintain speed. Speed does help stabilize the sub in rough waters as the sub is above water. The tugboat hit the stern plane and ripped a hole. Oh well, shit happens, its an accident!

  • LOVELY SOUND^^

  • the sub captain, should have waited til the tub boat was clear, totally jacked up, what a mess, someone is going to get a ass chewing, and rightly so. either captain should be retired or booth

  • Ship to ship transfers may occur, as you say, at manoeuvring speed. I am just looking at the evidence in the film, and the water seems to be hardly moving past either hull. I also have 20 years experience analysing ship collisions for court cases. But if you tell me that these two veseels were maintaining manoeuvring speed, then okay. The film just doesn't show this clearly, but I will just have to take your word for it.

  • LOUD NOISES

  • LOL at all the butthurt europeeon trolls.

  • listen closely around 3:45 you can hear someone say "there goes the mail" haha typical submariners

  • Sh1t happens

    mistakes are part of evolution

    awesome video thanks

and even if im not from the US

and that i'd have a lot to say about the imperialism of that country, i will just salute you for i assume you are part of the task force there. You donate your life for what you think is your duty and i salute you twice with respect and admiration.

    good job.

    keep it up

-im myself a volunteer firemen here in Canada-among other things.

    be safe pal

  • Worst disaster I can think of is simply Israel attacking an American naval vessel back in one of their wars a few decades ago in which killed many Americans and destroyed the vessel. You wanna talk about military blunders...look at Israel.

  • @armyaviationproud you are talking about the USS Liberty.. those nasty jews.. much worse than anything any muslim ever did to the usa

  • @DOCCAREY fuck you sclemiel. ive got jewish blood. are you seriously still hating jews for somethin that allegedly happened, 2000yrs ago? if so, you better go put up a sign on the corner of every german street reminding them what their ancestors did. then we will talk about the popes little agreement with hitler. fuck you racist cunt.

  • @FlopnosePimp my comment was directed at army's comment, which I am in COMPLETE agreement. It is not racist to mention how those NASTY jews deliberately murdered dozens of US sailors aboard the USS Liberty. They did so attack a US Navy ship for over TWO Hours. My comment about what that NASTY Jew government did to the US STANDS! Guess we can see that your jew blood leads you to be loyal to isfake aka isreal over the USA! Enough Said :)

  • You have 2 cluster f***s operating two different vessels is what happened.

The two captains needed to communicate and the tugboat should have been far away before Sub starting off.

  • @soucorp They had done a personnel transfer when during the "break away" the tug lost power, pretty unavoidable regardless of communication.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

  • @Redmanfms Your missing the point, there should be a process in place that allows the tugboats to move away at a safe distance before the sub starts their engines. This could have easily been avoided.

  • @soucorp You're missing the point, both vessels maintain maneuvering speed during a personnel/mail transfer, that's how it's done. It is safer to do it that way because break aways don't involve changes in power only changes in wheel. Again, you don't know what you're talking about.

  • @Redmanfms By both vessels maintaining maneuvering speed during a personnel/mail transfer, that's how it got F'ed up. It does not allow for emergency situations as loss of power thereby having the Tugboat get caught up on the dive plane. Status quo is no defense, we can do better!

  • @soucorp You don't know what you don't know my friend. There is a solid reason maneuvering speed is maintained during unreps and personnel/mail transfers. I can't explain it in a 500 character limit sadly, but I partially explained it in the the above post. being at dead stop is NOT safer. The Navy has been at this game for a very long time, we do have some notion on how to conduct evolutions safely.

  • Someone that understands such things please tell me why the hell the deck crew on the sub didnt advise full stop as soon as the tug was in the surf plane?

  • @ScottLeaf Hi. I think the sub is going astern by about 02:20 but it is hard to tell as there is so much wash around the rudder. I also think that the officer in the conning tower expected the "hard right" rudder to swing the stern away from the tug, but by now the tug was caught up on the dive plane. Really hard to say tho. We need to see the report. Also, even a nuclear sub can't stop like a car. It takes at least one ship length to stop from around 15 kts even using 'emergency full astern'.

  • @ScottLeaf probably they didn't knew it would happen, the ship would have been just fine if it didn't had lost power and got trapped in the bubble low pressure zone.

  • hey im one of the crewmen were lost i had to swim for 3 years but finally i found a floating door

  • recorded with a henry hoover.

  • the captain of the tug did back away fast enough and got cought up in the dive plane of the submarine then the sub washed the stern of the tug under wich took it under all that ocean and that tugboat captain couldnt find enogh room to back away ? he should be fired its his fault those two guys lost their lives just pure neglegence on the tug boat captains part id say

  • the Captain of the sub OR the officer in charge on deck, SHOULD HAVE BEEN COURT MARSHALLED! What an appalling demonstration of seamanship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What the hell happened? How did they do that? Because the boat is not diverted to the other side?

(Mas que diabos aconteceu? Como conseguiram fazer isso? Porque o barco não desviou para o outro lado?)

  • i hope they fired the captian off the tugboat.

  • How the heck that happened I don't get it how is that possible. Is that boat was overloaded?

  • @princessfbi No - the sub did not give the tug enough time to move clear before going ahead. The tug then got caught on the stern hydroplane which project out about 15ft, and would be unseen. I think the plane pierced the tug's plating in the turn of the bilge, and so the tug was caught and held there (despite using full engine power - see the exhaust smoke?) until the sub went astern and stopped. The sub should have waited until the tug was clear before going ahead. 2 people drowned.

  • So Greece is not part of the euro union? And neither is Germany? Well aren't you an educated one. As is Australia? Well I can tell you now there is only one correct in the few that I have chosen from your not in euro list.

I live in Australia, have a European background and go to a fantastic university.

  • Big F**k up on both parties. That tug sank quick.

  • for those who want to know what happened:

On 22 March 1986, three miles south of Midway Island, the USS Secota (YTM-415) had just completed a personnel transfer from the Georgia, when the Secota lost power and collided with the Georgia's diving plane. The Secota sank within two minutes. Ten people were rescued, including the Georgia crewman who had just transferred to the Secota, and two Secota crewmen were lost. The Georgia was undamaged.

  • does anyone here know what happened?

  • Is multirichard an Aussie, the land of criminals. Just be glad the USA is around to cover your asses

  • Wait, since when does anyone care what europeeons think about anything.

  • @IHaveNoDoubt And there in lies your problem, matey. Ignorance.

  • @IHaveNoDoubt And that comment, matey, just demonstrates how ignorant and isolationist you, and many people like you, are. Americans have absolutely no interest in anything outside of their own shores. And now you are about to go to war with another country, and if what analysts say is correct, most of you could'nt point to on a map. Tell me, is that ignorance or stupidity, or both? You tell me.

  • I got your wanker

  • Oops

  • you only wish you werent ruled by one tyrant family for the rest of your life. have fun with the crooked teeth and hairy women

  • Totally. Americans are the joke of the world. Everybody knows how stupid, fat and unfunny they are., Not only do they fire weapons at their own people, but sink tug boats as well. Utter Utter useless tossers.

  • @AmericansStupid bitch, without america, who would you be laughing at?

  • @AmericansStupid Answering you only feeds your ignorance. You are not worth my time to argue with. I believe in the country to which I live in as you do to the country you live in. I dont spend my time making foolish ignorant comments of things I dont know. Im not going to comment about your country, I dont know about your country, I can only make a comment on what the media says, and all of them are only making comments based on what hype they serve.

  • u know there was still people in the engineroom :P

  • SSBNs have large stabilizers below the waterline by the stern planes. The tug lost propulsion and struck the stabilizer. And the Chief who made the "There Goes the Mail" comment got in a bit of trouble.

  • @m036462 Of no fault of anyone. Its just an accident. You get ignorant folks who take things out of context on here. I served aboard the USS Sea Devil SSN 664. Subs cant turn out of harms way on a dime. Contrary to what some folks are commenting on here, they are only feeding their own ignorance, and stirring the pot of others. I salute the men that serve on the Silent Service, especially those on boomers. Its a part of the service that gets little recognition.

  • @donsgotmoney And as a naval architect myself of 30yrs who has spent the last 20yrs investigating ship collisions, It would be a fair appraisal to say that the sub should have waited prob less than one minute for the tug to get clear before moving ahead. The sub moved ahead too quickly before the tug was clear, and the tug got caught on the projecting (and unseen) hydroplane. Perhaps the sub captain thought his stern would turn away in time, but unfortunately it didn't. Very unfortunate - yes.

  • @multirichard007 You are wrong the sub never increased speed to move ahead. Watch the video again with these facts: @ 0.31 you can hear the alarm on the tugboat sounding a power failure. @ 0.45 watch the crew of the tug run aft and down below to try and restore power. After that there was no way for the tug to manuver or the submarine to stop in time. Watch the vid!!!!!! P.S. I am a submariner! I have read the report.

  • @lscmkviii Hi. I didn't know that the tug had a power failure, which explains why they started to go astern uptil 00:30, and then stopped. But by 1:00 the sub has started to move quickly ahead, such that when the tug hits the dive plane, it must be doing at least 10 knots - bow wash on tug. There is also a considerable amount of prop wash from the sub shown at 01:20 which indicates (to me) that a large surge of power had already been ordered by the bridge - maybe "Full Ahead - (man'g speed)"?

  • @multirichard007 During a personnel/mail transfer both vessels maintain maneuvering speed. It's pretty clear if you rewatch the video that the sub didn't change speed until the tug hung up on the stern plane. It only appears that the boat was moving relative to the tug because the tug, in fact, stopped moving. The SO realized what was happening and went hard right on the rudder to try and get the stern to clear the tug, but it didn't happen. I've seen the incident report.

  • @Redmanfms From 00:15 to 00:45 you can see from the water that both vessels are virtually stopped in the water. After 00:50 the sub starts to move ahead, but the tug is stopped in the water due to an engine failure, although just before 00:30 she had started to go astern to back away. It is fairly clear to me from looking at the footage, although I haven't had the chance to see the report. But isn't all this getting rather academic?

  • @multirichard007 Not really. Your reason for believing the sub skipper did something wrong is based on your ignorance on how these evolutions are conducted. I'm correcting you.

I strongly suspect your presumption of guilt is due in no small part to the anti-Americanism you've displayed in this thread.

  • @multirichard007 Hey how do you know there was an engine failure and we all know that you are a faker because you dont know how tospell maneuver dumbass so you dont have twenty years in analysing ships.......... By the way a 11 year old just said this.

  • ugh, to go off the comment topic, what exactly happened? Did the Tugboat got caught in the stern of the sub and got its hull chopped up by the propeller?

  • way!!

  • wow

  • Sorry I didn't get it. what was the ship trying to do?

  • WTF !?

  • Yep, problems in america are much worse than you might think, americans are, by and large, victims of the size of their own country, and culturally ill refined as a consequence, europe and indeed the rest of the world view american life as a pantomine of ignorance, which would actually be amusing, if it wasent for the destruction you unleash upon the world.

  • @70kilogramhuman Oh boy. You guys are too easy! I haven't even watched that video that started this whole thing. I dont remember how I got a link to it but when I came here I didn't even watch the video. Just noticed the comments and decided - What the heck, I am going for it. Just doing some trolling for fun. It is so easy to get you guys pissed off. You europeans are so defensive. Is it an inferiority complex?:)

  • @menow123456 No, Mr. rootin tootin Red Neck. We just don't like red-necked Americans. You have no respect for anything else except your own kind. But in a way its not your fault. It all comes down to getting an edukashun and a proper perspektiv on the rest of the wurld. Most of you would probably still be stringing up black people if you could get your own way or shooting them in the street.

  • Is this really almost 30 years old?

  • the greatest civization in history i don't think so greatest for what maybe the richest for now.everthing is temporary my friend now its china's turn it's all just natural this is the way the world has allways worked all throughout history.

  • @paullees557104 I will say it again for the ...slowest among us. It is a complement when europeans say they dont like us because it means we are not like you. The day you start saying you like us it means one of two things have happened. Either we have become like you or you are starting to learn from us and I dont think either is going to happen. Thank you for your complements.

  • Prolly thought they was just gonna wrangle a godzilla turd, then realized after they hit it that it either he had too much fiber or it wasnt a turd.

  • Europeans always point out that they dont like us because of the way we act. I have news for you. We don't care what you think of us. REALLY! We see you write that in your comments and just shake our heads. To you that is a big insult but we love it. After two hundred years it is a complement. That means we are not like you. We are Americans not europeans. Wake up. Dont you wonder why we are the greatest civilization in history? Silly little european.

  • @menow123456 Actually mate, I don't wish to offend you, but your civilisation is actually imploding in on itself. You probably cannot see that, but from over here we see everything for you going tits up. You are obsesesd with money, you have lost most of your core values that glues a society together, you are permanently misled and lied to by your govm't, half of Americans are now overwieght because of your food, and your youth have effectively lost their way. Look at any Walmart clientelle.

  • @multirichard007 Yea but the funny thing is... we own you. You could stop your slide into a third world status by learning from us but instead you sit around drinking tea and trash talking us. Have you not noticed that for the last two hundred years we haven't cared what you thought of us? Hello? Wake up. Why do think we care about what you think of us? We don't and that is one reason why we are successful and europe is still in decline. Wake up and save your country.

  • @menow123456 By the way, sonny, Europe is not in decline. We are learning how to live and trade fairly with each other after a war kicked off by some ranting fanatic. And you don't own us, you just think you do, prick. Most UK and European people laugh at Americans, because so many of you are so easily lead and juvenile. Follow the "American Dream" is just some bull-shit slogan promoted by advertisers and your government to make most of you do what they want. But you will never understand this.

  • @multrichI guess learning how to live fairly means rioting and burning store fronts down because you cant afford college. Maybe you could afford more if your government wasnt raping you with the taxes that are im sure partially what you were referring to when you said 'live and trade fairly'. In Europes case I think its safe to say that it is a very good thing your government took away your right to carry firearms because I think those 'protests' may have been allot worse. WHOS LAUGHING AT WHO??

  • @sbcrc86 Wait a mo. These riots you prob.refer to were kicked off by a criminal element amongst poor estates, and may have been a backlash against the bankers who have ripped all of us off, and put us all into debt. But I suggest you look at your own gun crime statistics first. Guns feature in just about every criminal act in the US. And how many high school shootings have then been in the last 30 years? We have mostly taken guns off the streets so they would not end up like yours.

  • @multirichard007 We really dont care what Europe thinks of us, We are and will always be different. We dont follow the tide like the European nations do, we believe in integrity, honor, moral values and free choice. Unlike the European nations that follow the crowd and do what every one else does. Its a shame to think that the European nations will not stand to help other poor countries, yet you would rather sit back and watch human slaughter rather than get your hands dirty. Shame on you.

  • @donsgotmoney american believes in honor, integrity, honor and moral values?? dude i simply dont belive you and the crap you just said. sorry

  • @DoctorDreh1988 #1 you dont know me,#2 I dont care if you dont believe me, I dont live my life to impress you or even to validate your opinion. #3 Your not sorry, you speak from what you dont know, for that you are "sorry"

  • @donsgotmoney im sorry for the way you/americans talk and see the way the world is like! For you america is the wonder world..everthing is perfect in america! even chinise bought part of you pathetic country. Im not here to be better than others, its just a way for me to to say what i want about america. America is, and always will be the pathetic country that saved world war 2 from the germans and japense. Seriously that was on WW2

  • @donsgotmoney Hang on, mate. There are many on this side of the pond who would like to go and sort out countries like Zimbabwe,Syria,Iran, the Congo. But our foreign office learned 50-60 years ago that you cannot just go in and take out the top ten people and everything will be great, because there are also thousands more that kept them there also hungry for power. Look at what happened in Iraq. Far better to encourage change from within. Its much more complex than just sending in the military.

  • @multirichard007 I can reply back to you because you are or seem to be civil. Im certainly to old to get into a pissing contest like the above comments. I agree that Iraq turned out to be a mess. But look at the track record, the US has lead more coalitions to foreign aid than any other country. We present the problem and waited for a UN solution, to many folks tied their own hands in diplomatic matters. You cant just sit back and watch human genocide and not do anything because its being a buly

  • @multirichard007 I refuse to enter in comments that are of things I not knowledgeable in to just get people pissed off. I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and although I know I am going to get a crap load of comments about this, thats fine with me. I love the country I live in, just as you do the country you live in. Have we made mistakes, your darn right we have, but so have you. I think folks hate us because we are one of the only country's thats not part of the Euro Nation.

  • @donsgotmoney At last - an honest comment! The truth why America is not respected in Europe is because US foreign policy only gives/takes what is the best for the US. Despite what many of you seem to think, Britain (and some others) are always striving to achieve a fairer, more just world, but you cannot just keep walking into other people's countries, shooting the top 10 people, and expecting everything to be OK thereafter. It just doesn't work like that. Change comes from within.

  • @donsgotmoney I completely respect your opinion and honesty. Europe doesn't 'hate' you, we just wish that you would work with us on trade agreements and the like and not against us. We also don't understand why the US Govm't keeps throwing its weight around, only doing what's right for the US. Big Oil is a massive player in this. And now so many Moslem countries are pissed off because of your over-zealous foreign policies. Learn to aid and work with countries, not just take what you want from ..

  • @multirichard007 Im not sure what misconception you have about oil for the US is, but it is as stated a misconception. Our Oil import comes from Canada and Venezuela. We Import no oil from the mid east. We try to protect other countries from the oil embargoes to other countries. If you think for a minute, that I would agree with you by refuting the country I live in, you are a disgrace. Im not concerned about nations that favor terrorism or that house the very people that cause it.

  • @donsgotmoney Actual, mate, to say "Im not concerned about nations that favor terrorism or house the very people that cause it" is just shocking and pathetic. It is mostly interference in middle-eastern countries by the US (by being mostly concerned about crude oil) that has kicked off the latest wave of terrorism and violence now going around the world. I give up with you people. You are not only ignorant, but incomparable stupid. Don't bother replying, because I won't answer. Moron.

  • @multirichard007 What do you think Im going to do, be swayed to your opinion. The US has made its fair share of mistakes, but so have other countries. In the last 6 comments you have made, the only thing you have done, is put down the US. I have made no derogatory comments about your country. If you think for one minute that world peace is attainable, you are uneducated. Most middle eastern countries would love to see the US destroyed. Give up, did you think I was going to lay down on the USA.

  • @donsgotmoney government has brainwashed you into thinking the us doesn't deserve the hate it recieves... or at least the government deserves the hate maybe not you

  • @donsgotmoney One of the only countires not part of the euro nation? you being serious.

  • @Mailme81 You are obviously not educated: Austria Belgium Bulgaria Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Estonia Finland France Germany Greece Hungary Ireland Italy Latvia Lithuania Luxembourg Malta Netherlands Poland Portugal Romania Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden United Kingdom European Union Information, these countries are not a part of the Euro nation.Others include Australia, Canada, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore, S Korea
  • Comment removed

  • @multirichard007 we only look like that to you because you all are a bunch of pussies.. grow a pair of balls and defend what you believe in. Sorry!

  • @akc121783 Howdy Pardner! I've got a fine pair of balls and do defend what I believe in, like most Brits. So I am not sure what you mean here. The truth about this is, 3/5ths of countries around the world upto 150yrs ago were administered by the British govm't, but those countries wanted their independance back, so one by one it was given to them. Practically all justice systems and democracies are based on what we taught these countries. Americans are only taught their own history at school.

  • @multirichard007 As the Brits tried to conquer and control the Americas, were defeated by farmers. The Brits are no different than the Americans, its just 200+ years later. Lets move on to a different argument. So if what you say is true, then the reason we practice what we do is because of what we have been taught by the Brits. I guess that makes your argument of little power to hold water, eh.

  • @multirichard007 If you are going to try to insult Americans like the rest of the European pussies on Youtube with gay-ass comments, you should try and use insults in common usage in America... because though we know what a Tosser is, and a Wanker... you just sound like a faggy little bitch. Probably with crooked teeth and an unhealthy sexual attraction to thick women who remind you of your mum. A Brit calling anyone a bully is laughabale, given your nation's history.

  • @3mate1 Explain yourself.

  • you can always count on stupid americans

  • seriously people? no the boat cannot stop, the tug wasn't even supposed to be there that long....

  • Bloody Americans Fucking retards this why they always ask help from royal navy.

  • @echofallout hahah no guy its the other way around , in history aswell....... besides our subs are better

  • XO-they're sinking sir, what should we do?

CO-did they see our tag number?

    XO-no sir

    CO-dive

  • I believe the submarine should have actes faster to reduce the risk of sinking the tug but i was ARMY not NAVY.

  • @wtj1976 The sub should have delayed going ahead untill the tug got clear. I minute was all it would have taken.

  • haha noobs

  • @UltimateGamingTroll two people died during this incident..

  • If you put this in a movie it would be regarded as unbelievable. No-one would accept such incompetence as being realistic. This footage is a testament to appalling safety practices from the first frame to the last. Too few individuals were found culpable in this case; the hearing was an absolute whitewash.

"There goes the mail!" Yeah, that and two lives, matey.

  • As a card-carrying antisemite, I feel the Jews must in some way be responsible.

  • would it not be the prop wash from the sub having to much air in the water for the tug to float on and the tug prop could not get a grip on the aerated water to pull backwards

  • Which boat is the submarine?

  • @landis444 the one with the camera man

  • @R00RAL . . . I would argue that the tug didn't touch the prop. Notice the tug listed to the port side and then went down stern first. If it had been struck by the prop, you would have heard it and noticed it on the video, that is a lot of metal to have colliding and flying around, and secondly the tug would have sunk bow first.

  • @xXCerpicoXx Hmm.. That is a good call... I was not there, taking an educated guess, still believe the Tug went in Stern first towards the prop, would only take a good nik to pierce the hull... or perhaps the prop of the tug struck a stern plate of the sub tearing it off.. who knows.. perhaps up-loader may enlighten us??

  • @R00RAL They say it was impact with the Submarines Starboard Dive Plain that caused the Tug to go down. Two people were lost.. R.I.P.

  • @FRODOGOOFBALL . . . it's a Submarine, not a Honda Civic. Even with the prop at full reverse it's going to take a bit to stop. As stated by R00RAL it is better to keep the sub moving in order to maintain control. @FOscum . . . The Captain did everything in his power, the rudder was deflected to the full right position, it was the Tug captain that chose to park his tub boat on the Stern portion of the submarine which forced the aft end of the Tug underwater and subsequently sunk it.

  • The reactions of this pepole is very strange

  • @mate0107 americans...do i have to say more..

  • @kungopus Hey...Americans in the military arent morons! They have to have an IQ of 65 to get in!

  • @mechiefslapahobitch holy macarony IQ of 65! my bad....not

  • @kungopus What do you do great in your country, pick fruit? Make shoes?

  • @dalotel naa we just pick on americans..that will do just fine for us.

  • @kungopus The only reason your country still exists is because of the Americans.

  • @menow123456 Naa not realy...get your history right boy.

  • @menow123456 This is the sort of reply I would have expected from an ignorant American who has never learned history. In a few hundred years when you and your country have grown up a bit, then maybe other countries will start to respect you. In Europe we have at least 3,000 year of culture, and you could learn a great deal from that. All americans have offered to the world are hamburgers, cocoa cola, and the phrase 'nuke em'! But I know that one day people like you and your country will evolve!

  • The Piss Poor Sub Captain should be charged for gross negligence and manslaughter and locked away for life. Sea rules state that you must take all precautions to prevent a collision. Only a DUMB ASS, continues to make way !! What a F'ing ASS HOLE for a sub captain.

  • Did you ever hear the Command" ALL STOP"

  • Obviously stop the sub...?

  • Y'a t'il un commandant à bord de ce sous-marin?? Je veux dire,.. où est la logique ?

Ils aiment pas les bateaux civiles xD

  • shit.......shit..........shit.............shit

  • did anyone get trapped inside?

  • what the hell happen? rope stuk on the sub or something?

  • @KhonSiam No, the tug went stern of the Sub and got chewed by the prop.

  • "There goes the mail."

  • they showed us this video during our indoc week before our damage control exercise if i remember correctly there were fatalities

  • @ub40fx1 Sorry to hear.. RIP.. :(

  • these americans arent like the U.S marines or Navy Seals. these r just casual submarine workers. not frontline soldiers, these guys did NOT go through any sort of training, only classes.

  • One of the things that this video shows is that Americans really do panic in a crisis and start screaming at each other. I thought that it was a myth just created for films. Seems to be true though. Thank Fuck that British service people are more cool in a crisis. No doubt that this will upset the usual American rednecks, and they will start bombarding this comment with ranting drivel and swear words telling me where to stick my comments.

  • @multirichard007 No, i just dont see why you would want to be rude to American soldiers...anyone would panic in a situation like that. anyone. not trying to start an argument, just would seem like a natural human instinct.but k respond telling me how wrong i am and how much america sucks and how awesome you are, lol i dont really care.

  • @PNWtoyota He who looses their head in a crisis is of no use to others. He becomes someone who needs rescuing himself. This is why military personnel train, train, train, all the time. I am shocked that personnel on this vessel were allowed to scream and shout at each other, rather than act coolly and solve the situation. This is after all, a nuclear-armed vessel, with a highly trained, professional crew. These people are meant to be professional in a crisis, at least you hope they are.

  • @multirichard007 Why the hate? Screaming is a good thing. It lets people hear you, and it gets the adrenaline pumping so you can work faster.

  • @multirichard007 Don't be so fast to rule! Bragging and swearing is NOT cool...

  • @weldermaniacbob Sorry mate. You're right. Its just on my side of the pond, so many people are getting fed up with your govm't and military constantly throwing its weight around, upsetting and interfering in other countries, and usually causing yet more aggravation that it solves. You may think that it is being fair and helping others, but you have to ask yourself why so many muslims are pissed off now, and plan terror attacks all over the world that support America. Respect for other people....

  • @multirichard007 No.You are intitaled to your opinions/personal observations. In fact it is good a European is starting to try to use his mind. Perhaps the next step will be to get their military to stand up and defend themselves. Maybe after that we can teach them how to defend those that cannot defend themseves. I have spent my share of time across the big pond and I love those folks except they don't have a spine. History has shown your true colors.

  • @menow123456 Tell us Mr.Menow, what colours are those? In Britain, we realised after the last war that you can't just keep walking into other people's countries, and tell them what to do. Since the last war the US has walked into or invaded 84 countries around the world and destabilised them, instilling puppet governments that support the 'Great American Way'. Perhaps rather than behaving like gun-toating school boys, you should start to ask yourself why so many countries now hate America.

  • @menow123456 Listen toss-pot. British service personnel are better at keeping their heads and staying cool in a crisis. This video just goes to show this where these service personnel (on a nuclear sub I might add) just started screaming and yelling for no obvious reason. British service are always better trained and more professional at doing their jobs. That's why you lot have so many incidents of 'friendly fire'. To you lot, everything is just another shoot up at the OK Corral.!

  • @multirichard007 Hey, they're on a boomer. That is about exciting as it gets for them. And don't judge the USA just because of some accident. And besides, your country's media control is stricter than ours, so that why you don't see accidents like that with your own ships that often.

  • @jayrodmurderface Hi. Not to want to go to war over this, but we do have accidents like this, and they do get reported. Recently a naval rating went beserk in a sub in Southampton and shot 2 security guards. Put down to stress. Another in the Irish Sea where a sub fouled a trawler's nets and dragged it under. But I think that British service personnel are taught better how to keep cool in a crisis, and not loose their heads. "Keep calm and carry on" - we learned it in the last war.

  • That went down fast

  • That tugg took an arrow to the knee and didnt survive

  • where did that tug skipper get his his ticket, out of a corn flakes packet? only the you septics.....

  • Tragic accident. She went down fast. Too bad some reports say two didnt make it.. RIP fellas !

  • Tragic accident indeed...

  • @britlurker the navy report said the sub collided and the tug struck the diving plane

  • fuck... that went down fast

  • Good god that was quick. Did everyone on the tug make it?

  • @PhantomDrums917 - I just looked up the incident. Ten guys from the tug were rescued but two others didnt make it Im afraid. Suppose they were below decks when it happened. Tug was built in 1944, amazing.

  • Why didn't the sub stop the moment they realized the tug was in trouble?
