i honestly do not see how everyone claims to have so many issues with this phone and the 5800 , i dont have any problems software wise, at least nothin a software update cant fix, this is a very nice phone :) it would be cool if it was all titanium :)
preordered this phone back in june, got it, felt cheap scratched easy, the RAM is pathetic, apps are sub par, immediately sold on ebay, and got a 3gs 32gb couldnt b happier, hope this helps but really if your going to buy nokia the n900 looks reasonable
haha sik1..im going to be using the mini for now and see how that is, thats comin today!!..hope u have fun on the n97..jus get lots of apps from ovi really lol
iphone rocks....if you are a dumb retarded sheep that likes getting robbed and getting spat on while Apple laughs all the way to the bank for selling you something shiny for half a grand.
Well, that's up to your preference. To me, I use iTunes very heavily, so the iPhone's iPod is perfect to me. I still love the iPhone's iPod because there are many small features that I love, such as gapless playback, star ratings, smart playlists, lyrics, audiobook support etc. So the iPhone's music player is the best for me.
But if you don't care about any of that, and all you care is that you can find your song and play it, then they're the same.
You have to decide based on what you would use it for. iPhone for iTunes and it's huge, constantly updated apps store, N97 for its keyboard and design and more familiar, traditional user interface.
hey ye i live in sydney and i just called up a store that has it and they told me that its coming out on the 27th of june but he had no clue how much the deals were going to be
I've got this phone and the iPhone 3G S 32GB.Also my N97 is 32GB.I use the iPhone 3G S for playing and the N97 for work and talking. But i like the N97 more!
The N97 certainly has a better keyboard and much better software than the X1, but apps you have downloaded or purchased for your X1 won't run on the N97.
they include a stylus because when iphone is out many asian peoples complained about lacking of stylus....therefore losing sales in asia countries....thats why N97 has a stylus...
The recommended retail price for the Nokia N97 without a contract is RM2,480 in Malaysia and SGD1,028 (without Comes with Music) or SGD1,228 (with Comes with Music) in Singapore.
a lot of people have been saying that when watching vids and looking at photos it looks bigger than it seems, but when they actually held it it was pretty small.
sorry that sentence didn't make sense lol. what i meant to say was, it looks pretty big in vids and photos but the people that got their hands on it said it was pretty small
Yea, lonewolf604 is right. It's not that big. It just looks big, because phones with this design are usually pretty big. We compared it with a name card (by the width) and it's actually narrower, so with that guide, you can very roughly estimate the size of the N97.
Also, 65bits, they included the stylus for handwriting recognition. It was one of the things everyone liked with the 5800 and was requested to have with the N97.
Okay, thanks for the tip! It actually makes sense for me (Daniel), cos it's a resistive screen. DK probably didn't think of that. I didn't know about the requested part though!
Hey, just wanted to mention that the Samsung i8910 (prev known as the Omnia HD) has handwriting recognition but doesn't have (nor can it use) a stylus.
Though admittedly, on the i8910, it's practically unusable.
Hi, I'm sorry, but we're a Singapore-specific site, so we don't know anything else beyond Singapore and what we read on sites like Engadget. Also, the phone hasn't been officially launched for sale yet. The launch event is today around the world, so more info will probably come out.

I already have a samsung f480 (touchscreen) so its not the touchsreen that is the most importand about my decision between Nokia N97 and Iphone 3Gs.
Im just wondering now if Nokia N97 is so well as Ipgone 3gs is,concerning the music player.
Does Nokia have auto fokus aswell?
denid1 2 years ago

And yes, the N97 can auto focus as well.

The N97 certainly has a better keyboard and much better software than the X1, but apps you have downloaded or purchased for your X1 won't run on the N97.

they include a stylus because when iphone is out many asian peoples complained about lacking of stylus....therefore losing sales in asia countries....thats why N97 has a stylus...
kongbingyuan931202 2 years ago
The other more technical reason is because the N97 uses a resistive touch screen, and all devices with such a touch screen must come with a stylus.
The iPhone uses capacitive touch screens which won't work with anything except your skin.

This is not picked up by a U.S. carrier (AT&T or T-Mobile USA). You will have to buy it Sim-free (unlocked) to use it in the U.S.
But remember, the 3G band in the phone is for AT&T, not T-Mobile.
