What you have to do is first make sure you download the correct 5.0.1 firmware for your ipod (Best site to go to is felixbruns -google search it)

Then on redsnow go to extras ---> Select ispw ----> choose the 5.0.1 firmware you downloaded

Then go to jailbreak and try it again. It will be successful this time :)
