jtrain997, in response to what you said, there are three versions of the figure. Version one has a grey coat with cords. The one you have here is version two which has a black coat and holes for the cords. The third version (and the one I have) has a black coat and no holes.

If you're worried about movie accurate, yours is more accurate because he doesn't really have the cords in the movie.

my theory always was, this is the RISE of Cobra. by the time the first episode of cartoon aired, Cobra was a legit terrorist organization. this gave him time to gain the helmet.

i figure, by the time the sequel comes we SHOULD be getting a more classical look. if not, i honestly don't mind.

have you seen the movie poster where they show the bad guys on the top and the good guys on the bottom well cobra commander was shown and he didnt have that mask he had half a mask covering his mouth and nose and his hair was exposed it looked pretty cool i prefer that version instead...

actually thats supposedly dr. mindbender who they call "the dr." its supposed to be a twist ending he looks like this until the last 2 minutes but theyve covered up the twist terribley everyone figured it out

In the official graphic novel, he puts on a blue version of that mask at the end. He may not wear it in the movie because it's a novel adaption, which changes a lot of stuff, but hey, there might be some hope yet.

i bought this figure and have noticed a few things. his "communicator" supposed to be a PDA. The missing hoses were a last minute change but you can use the cords from pilot destro. aslo the pistol is a new mold. I compared it to the 25th anniversary figure and the pistols, though similar are actually different molds.

I think the chords were there because they wanted to give an idea of the oxygen from his lungs going directly to hisburned face and they took it off due to people's complaints.

I think one way we could see him look more like the original would be if someone shoots him in the back of the head, his mask stops the bullet but it unnerves him so he puts on a helmet as further protection.

Also I noticed you didn't read the stuff on the back of the box.
