Ohhhh my goodnesss!!!! That was the cutest thing ever(: I love your bird!!!! Omg(: the sneeze was the cutest part I think, I'm gonna go teach my Parrotlet how to sneeze, and we can have a competition! ;)
She reminds me so much of my buddy. SO much attitude around what she claims is "her" property, but away from her stuff she is a sweety who loves to cuddle and make cute noises :) She has recently claimed my hair, which is unfortunate because she attacks anyone who tried to take her away from it. Your Cleo is a real sweety :)
What a talented lovebird! I have 3 lovebirds and 3 baby lovebirds and i adore them. Mine talk a little and whistle mostly. They are my favorite bird of all time!
@lostinvast your love bird is not talking but your love but your love bird singing his real sound i say that because i have 24 love bird in indonesia i just let you now please respond
After about four years, my lovebird has started making a sort of croaking sound, bobbing his head, as if he wants to talk. I've been trying to encourage him to say something like "hello" with two syllables. I think he wants to imitate my speech somehow. These birds are incredibly sweet.
@anoxblaze13 It's a tough topic. People who want friendly birds will find that buying them in pairs, the birds will have no interest in the owner, and never bond to them. Just to each other. However, if you get a single lovebird and have the time to spend with it, it will be super friendly and happy as long as you do not neglect it.
@lostinvast In many cases your statement is true but it's not 100% true. I've got 3 lovies that I handfed from 2 weeks of age. They live together and are all my pets and all love me.
@lostinvast i have a pair, and a have a compromise: they're very cute with each other although they sometimes fight but they will play with me too and seek my company to sleep on my chest in the evening. i made them so tame, that i can walk with them outside:)
@lostinvast Me and my mother are thinking about getting one but we dont know if our dogs might kill it or worse it might become ruler of the dogs then the house. My mothers aunt had one and whenever it was happy it wud sing, except when it was mad then it wud peck my moms aunt then do sumthin unspeakable. Say the spanish word for S***. How will i take care of it? What or how much will it cost to get one? How much damage will it cause? I want one but my dads not an animal person,
@anoxblaze13 It's perfectly fine to have just one lovebird, as long as you can devote at least two hours out of the cage interaction with your friend.
Aweee too funny!! My girl does the same if you interrupt her or she's in the middle of something....makes the grunting noise like she's pissed off LOL!! I've had my girl since she was 3 months old...she's still healthy and will be turning 18 this summer!! ;))
i have a question, is she potty trained? i always wonder with vids on youtube, i am getting a lovebird and am worrying about letting her on my bed, run around the house, without me training her to be 'potty trained' first. does yours make a big mess?
@flighted1 I wouldn't say potty trained so much as she's "perch" trained. If she's been hanging out with me for a while, snuggling, sleeping, etc, she won't go to the bathroom until I get her perched on my finger again - then it just plops out lol - almost involuntarily. So in a way she's trained but I doubt it's going to stop her from pooping when she feels like it here and there. Lets just hope it's not on my shoulder (so far it hasn't happened!)
@TheBostonterrierMino - unfortunately, lovebirds (and most parrots) are extremely strong-willed and will defend their turf to no end. If they don't like humans, it's not very easy to ever turn that around. They usually just end up tolerating you. The best way to have a tame bird is to get them at a young enough age where they will learn to realize that you are there to care for them. And even that is often not enough. :(
@TheBostonterrierMino i no what you mean when you got probs with tameing, i got a bird, now (parrot)
her mate died bcuz i think she laid a egg and he cracked it, and she killed him. cuz the next day i wokeup there was a egg that was cracked :((if ound out days after) and him dead and her all flipped out sounding :/ and i feel bad cuz im scared to pet her she might bite and shes onyl a lil parakeet from the petstore..
Aww... this reminds me of my Lutino Opaline named Twisty.. she loved to tilt her head at such cute angles, and she liked to say "Pretty bird" "Grrrr" and "I'll wreck you" hehe. She passed away.. but lived 12 years with her master :(
@lostinvast Yeah. =) Luckily, our first batch of peach faced lovebirds bred in the start, so one point during my childhood we had 8 baby lovebirds! Now we have 4, but they're all attached to my dad, so they're living with him. I'm going to nurture and raise my own hand fed opaline. Yours is gorgeous =]
My other bird, Chows, just passed on a few days ago.. he was 14 :'(
@lostinvast Well, I guess you could say that. It started with a Peach faced, Chows, and a Lutino Opaline named Fifi, and they mated without us knowing and laid 7 total eggs!! =) 2 lutinos, and 5 peach faced. One of them was my twisty... this was way back, back in .. hmm.. 98 I think.. but yeah. We also bought a black mask lovebird at one point named sky... her squawks were so beautiful and exotic.
And Chows lived the best of lives with my love, attention, and care. <3 Thank you so much =')
@WTFmann2009 - 4 dogs, 1 lovie at the moment. Plus my whole family and their pets which make it into our videos as well. BIG animal loving fam here! :)
