  • I can make a different to some one needs a heart specially a parents that has a family, I am not for sure at this time but please keep me in communication. If you intersted I have a history to tale, why I will like to donate my heart. Thanks ( life is beutiful ).

  • April is here again and its National Donate Life Month. I heart Organ Donor-

  • I as a person who thinks and always is on guard not to fall into the brainwashing of the system(society) am obligated to speak out and say hey people start making your own conclusions dont let others tell you want right or what you should do!

  • thats what I am talking about no one thinks ... ooo my relitive needs a kidney or a lung cut me up doctor and NOW! cant you see you are brainwashed by society to acsept such drastic actions.

  • @vinporto Becoming an organ/tissue donor is a personal decision. The individuals in the video are sharing their reason for being a donor with the goal of having viewers consider and decide on their own.

  • I heart organ donors because my mother is one and I am the recipient! She gave me a kidney on June 24, 2003. Over seven years and still going strong! :)

  • ill donate my heart in exchange of an ab negative blood type heart

  • Being a donor is not such a bad thing but I am not! WHY because there where cases when people desided to be donors and instead of doctors fighting for your life it seems like they say, "hey if he doesnt survive atleast we can salvage his spare parts." Being a live donor I disaggree with that totally ... there is no such thing as a spare kidney or lung there is a reason nature made your organs and its a crime against the people you love to force them to donate out of simpathy.

  • @vinporto I am sorry you heard this false information but doctors not trying to save a person's life because they are a donor is a misconception. I encourage you to view the two "Ask the Donation Expert" videos on the DLI channel that address this issue.

  • @vinporto I too am sorry that you heard false information. The #1 myth about organ donation is that you will not be saved by doctors because their only interest is your organs. The transplant team is a separate group of doctors and they are only called in once the person has died. Then, the organs must be screened to ensure that they are viable for transplantation, so the doctors working to save your life wouldn't even be able to tell that your organs could be donated. Why would they risk...

  • @vinporto cont. intentionally killing someone just to find out that the organs aren't viable? It makes no sense.

Also, I am a living transplant recipient. My mom gave me her kidney on June 24, 2003. People can live with one kidney. My grandfather was born with only one kidney and he's lived a healthy and productive life. My mom did not donate her kidney by force. I was on the transplant list, but my mom decided from the moment she learned that I had ESRD that she would donate her kidney to me.

  • I heart organ donors!!!

  • Part 2 : and they dont take your heart or your liver, they take your eyes, your skin, your bones etc ...

And what will be left from you in the cuffin is a " something empty".

  • Hi Jasinna - I'm sorry that you're miseducated about the issue and that you've posted false information. However, I'm happy to use this opportunity to educate you!

I strongly encourage you to visit our channel and Web site below to learn the facts about organ & tissue donation as opposed to allowing myths to shape your perception of the issue.

  • 1 a )

It does not have to do anything with myths that organ receiver (explicit those, which receive a heart) report of remarkable nature changes ( for example in their way to think about some things or in concern to prefer someting).

And: Not only just a few of these people report of the fact that they would have the feeling as if would be there still another person in them present.

  • 1 b)

Evenly because so frequently it occurs the science TRIES to explain it that in the cells of the organs would be a kind is memory.

And : I am sure we are more then a machine where can used the left "parts" (=organs) after the so called brain dead (while your heart is still pumping, owing to the machine).

Tell me : why the so called death person gets pain killers and anasthesie when they take their organs ?

  • Hi Jasinna,

It is NOT policy to give the donor any anesthetics during the harvesting of their organs.

Of course organ donation is a personal choice but I do think you have watched one too many bad "TV dramas" about how the process actually works. If you or a loved one every encounters the horrible experience of hearing the words "you need a transplant" I think your mind would change about donating.

  • Do you have children? If your child needed one of your kidney's to survive, would you donate then? As a living donor? There are so many different ways to donate, it's not just about those who are brain dead. There are living donors, those who donate bones and tissue after they die naturally, etc.

  • If death is due to a fatal brain injury, please know that the doctor who is trying to save the life of the injured patient is not the same doctor who recovers organs for transplantation. I received a heart and my transplant surgeon went to get that heart and had no contact with the doctor who worked to save my donor.

May I ask, what lead you to this video if you are so opposed to donation?

  • i'm here in philippine but i want to be a part of your program i want to be an organ donor..

  • Do you really know what is going on while they take your organs ? You are NOT really dead, your body is still breathing (owing to a machine) and there are MANY storys out there where Docs and nurses say that the so called dead donors react (make noises, put up legs, arms etc) while they cut them of. Why dont you think they give EVERY "dead" donater pain killers ???

Think about twice and look out for all these horrible and sad storys around organ donation.

I would NEVER do it !

  • Jasinna,

That is not true! To be an organ donor you are declared brain dead...which means you are dead. You are kept on machines to keep the organs viable, but when you don't have brain activity, you are legally dead. There is nothing horrible about organ donation, it saves lives!!! Please contact your local organization and learn the facts and benefits of organ donation.

  • If you dont beliebe me, then look for these many storys out there where very strange things happend around this organ explanation stuff.

And ask your self one question above all : WHY on earth would a real death person need an anaesthesia ! They give these so called death person each an anasthesia and PAINKILLERS ! Ask your self why ?

There are sooo many strange storys out there, look for it, and you will never ever think again about to donor your organs !

  • @Jasinna My dad was declared brain dead this past December after suffering a pulmonary embolism. He was actually dead far before he stopped breathing, as he had machines breathing for him. But believe me, he was dead. Completely and utterly. I don't know where you are reading these stories, but you are misinformed. Donation is a wonderful thing that saves lives and the people who donate are dead far before they harvest the organs. They only give anesthetics to living donors, not cadavers.

  • awsome 5 stars!

  • i'd donate my organs if i can choose who they go to.people born with diseased organs are fine but i'm not giving it to some binge drinker who needs a liver or some stupid reason like that.if theres a way to regulate this i think more people will be more willing to donate.a lot of the problems are preventable and we should focus on that.

  • Hey Cheeco,

I understand how you feel. People make mistakes. Whether it is smoking, drinking, overeating, or other issues, they will not become a candidate for transplant until after theyve conquered their problem. Some are Moms and Dads, some are children - we cannot always control who may or may not merit a second chance.

We can only hope that when we help them, they will honor the gift weve given them, learn from their past and lead better and more productive lives. Love, Steve

  • well said

  • Thanks, Cheeco -- I talk a lot now that I have wind... Love, Steve

  • My daughter was an organ donor. She has touched many lives and has saved many. She sied in a car crash as a passenger when she was 14. I knew she would have wanted to help so I agreed - she helped a 17 yr old with a kidney and liver and a 62 yr old woman received her pancreas and the other kidney both had been waiting a long time for their gift of hope and her heart valves were given to children who needed these. She lives on through them and it does comfort our family.

  • I take it your daughter's name was Judy... I'm so sorry for your loss. Just like the 17 yr old and 62 yr old your precious daughter helped -- another precious daughter helped me with the gift of her lungs when she too passed away long before she should have left this beautiful planet.

Thank you for sharing with us -- Judy truly does live on through many others, who many not know you, but they think of you every single day. Love, Steve

  • Thanks Steve for that wonderful comment. I am hoping you are doing well and I try to keep in contact with Judy's recipients also. Be a donor family has truly changed my life.

  • You're so welcome, Judy's Mom... I had four "false alarms" before I received Kari's lungs -- families like yours tried to save my life and I think of them always -- and I think of Kari always. I can't even explain how wonderful it feels to breathe with her lungs -- it's been 9 years and it's on my mind constantly... The Kari's and the Judy's, and their Moms and Dads are heroes in my eyes -- I will keep her alive in other's memories and hearts forever. Love, Steve

  • My late son Mark (3/29/70 - 1/08/09)donated his heart and 3 lobes of his liver to help someone else live. It's gives me great comfort to know he lives on in someone else.

  • Thanks so much for leaving a comment, and for making the decision to donate. We hope our efforts honor Mark's memory.

  • Thanks everyone for your comments!
