Liquid cooling increases your framerate unbelivaley and is much better than using fans thats why it is expansive to install and is used in the best computers in the world, and with the right graphic card can hit over 600fps never mind 1/4 of full graphics , look compuet liquid cooling up efore you complain about it

first off before putting a water cooling system in ur comp u test for leaks for 12-24 hours if no leaks then u instal it in the system. u could of fryed ur cpu because there was no coolant in the water block thts why ur system turned off twice.

Water cooling is for faster CPUs that are overclocked so they won't overheat. They will run faster but you need more to keep it stable.

wow you do know the colder the core is (to a point) incresses the preformance of the computer and framerate. just shut your cooling system off and let you games play your framerate will start to slow to a halt

ur tube is empty cuz u are ment to have the Res at the top-point of a PC ... i knwo its not easy ! u can atleast hold it up with hand untill the tube is filled but thats not foolproof solution ! u can also tilt ur PC to its face since ur tubing is that way !

first off before putting a water cooling system in ur comp u test for leaks for 12-24 hours if no leaks then u instal it in the system. u could of fryed ur cpu because there was no coolant in the water block thts why ur system turned off twice.

The latest processors and graphics cards in high/super high end rigs cost 2 to 3 times as much as as walmart computers. The Intel Core i7-965 Extreme Edition processor chip right now cost over $1000.

why would you pay that much for a computer? i got a working computer for 300$ and i been useing it for 2 years. and its soo well made i dont need all that stuff to cool it, or make it work... but i aint into computers much... but i DID spray paint mine Orange with 01 on the sides! if thats a computer mod then i modded mine!!!

@mudtruckman Your $300 computer is probably made for basic word processing and internet browsing so there really is no need to use anything more than a cheap fan to power it because your CPU most likely won't be running that hot.

@mudtruckman - The same reason someone buys a faster car pays more for their internet every month. Everyone can get by with the basics but if you want more speed you have to pay a little bit more. Water cooling is for faster CPUs that are overclocked so they won't overheat. They will run faster but you need more to keep it stable.

@mudtruckman i understand ur a computer dummy . then think of water cooling as extra radiators on a turbo charged car.
speaking of why pay for computers , just keep in mind that u can get alot more from a fast computer than u can get from an expensive car vs a slower car ! since there is laws and lights and trafic on the road. yet i know a person who has a 700 000 Euro car car while my 4000 Euro toyota does the same thing and with better efficency !

its all about love, + alota ppl spend alot of time by their computer and with high end computers gaming is possible and way more fun !
U turbo charge a car = u are putting more fuel in the chamber, u produce more power.
U increase the clock frequency of a CPU(u feed more information into it that u should) it processes more info. Both these methods produce extra heat ... like everything else :)
and there comes intercoolers and CPU liquid cooling systems !

Yeah that's why it is essential to do reserch when shopping for PC components. Someone who doesn't know a lot about it will see the extreme and say "Wow this 3.33 GHz 975 CPU pwns that 2.66GHz 920, I must buy it" without realizing that they can easily OC the 920 up to the 975 with the help of a $50 CPU cooler and save almost $700.

indeed :P i like to spend the extra 100$ for my phenom 965 tho cuz i have massive issues with overclocking on my rig -_- im not too experienced and im content with my 3.4 ghz XD and man those skulltrail motherboards are nothing but benchmarkers really... they seem fancy but like 99% of games will never support that and new games coming out barely support quad-cores...

Core i7 is solely made for overclocking enthusiasts and competetive overclockers. The difference between the other i7s is noticeable, and it's more overclockable. In fact, AMD hasn't even released a enthusiast processor. I'm not saying any brand is better, but if you look at what most of the gamers use, it's Intel processors.
If you don't know what you're talking about, stop acting like you are. It's one of the most annoying things I know when people act like they know a lot about computers.

Enthusiasts would definitely buy two GPUS, or even three or four, but we're talking CPU's here. A real enthusiast would buy an extreme i7, but also three or four GPUS. Enthusiasts don't really care about the money, as they want the best setups on the market.
You say AMD is faster? The Intel i7 920 has higher memory bandwidth (triple channel RAM) and hyper threading, so it blows the AMD out of the water for workstation tasks. Even i5 beats the P2 965 (flagship AMD CPU) in several cases.

true but for the true gamer amd always wins because processors never stop coming out and its hard to drop 400-1000$ on something thats just gonna go out of date in a few months so stick with amd and keep up with low price or go intel and get screwed. its faster for buisness use but for gaming almost 0 effect over amd if any. i have amd and i run games great and i dont even hit a quarter cpu under full load max graphics so its manly gpu cards that do gaming

What processor do you have? The i7 975 has some, of not THE best overclock capabilities in the world right now. That's the reason of it's existance. The i7 975 isn't equal to any AMD processor, why do you keep saying that?
Pair with good parts? What in the world makes you think that an enthusiast wouldn't pair the i7 975 with good parts? I've yet to meet a 975 owner without the top notch of every single component.

An enthusiast system is an enthusiast system. Do you not understand the definition of an enthusiast system? It's a system with only top-end components. If you have no money, you have to get cheaper components, which aren't enthusiast items.
Also, you cannot reach 'around' the same performance with cheap parts. You go ahead and show me a benchmark of that then.
