  • Ford also designed two V8 motors in the early fifties, one they kept and used the other one was sold to General motors. Thats where all the small block GM motors originated from.

  • The old commercials were fun to watch.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • uh oh theyre probly almost out of them, Id better go see my local Ford dealer

  • imagine what or where ford would be today if someone assassinated Lee iccoca back in the early 60's before the creation or release of the msutang. honestly i think the F-series truck and the Mustang are why ford stands today. but then its like the butterfly effect. what would come of all the pony cars made by GM and Crysler

  • Awesome commercial, but XD I must say this -Hehehe, he said load-

  • My first car was a 58 Ford it had a 300 hp 352 police interceptor in it. I creamed

many, many chevies with it. Yeah it was an ugly car but oh I wish I still had it.

  • Dad had a 58 Ford Country Sedan Station Wagon....with a thunderbird special 352 ..Wish i had that today...wouldnt like the gas mileage but it sure would have the cool factor too it

  • cool man

  • The reason Ford lost is because of the Edsel. That was one sad running car.

  • yeah hes right ! they wont last long...they all rotted out!

  • In the early 60's, my first car was a 1958 conv, I walked 18 miles for that car. The conv top leaked, but just ran.

  • I wanna play fallout now.

  • 0:37 Eastland Shopping Center (Harper Woods, MI), this was THE shopping center when I was young.

In 1973, they enclosed it, becoming Eastland Mall. Still in business, but "demodeled" beyond recognition!

  • We had a 57 Fairlane 500 with a 312 in it ran like a raped ape. You could go a 100 easy and let go of the wheel and it would just track .Then when I could drive I had a rag top that was Candy Apple red over white. I really miss that car..

  • yeah..ford outsold them when new..you wont here a chevy guy brag about that at a car show ..car for car...the fords were faster..what was the power on the chev?.. maybe? 280 i think being a fuelie..

ford advertized the 312 at 300, but it was more like 340 horse ,,and ford outsold them in 59 also?..and today ..well...we will see what happens to them now

  • I loved the ending comment - "but hurry - they won't last long" haha. If they only knew then that they were speaking the truth! Yepper - they won't last long! haha.

  • My grandparents had a '57 Fairlane in the mid sixties that my cousins and I would play in when we visited them. I hardly remember them driving it.

  • 1957 Ford Fairlane outsold the 1957 Chevy. It was only later when people realized the Chevy's would keep on running forever that the 1957 Chevy got its reputation as one of the best American cars of all time.

  • those ford motors were pretty slick too!

  • True. Late 50's Chevy's are considered the best built cars of all time. The Fairlane, though cool in a retro way, weren't very good cars.

  • @duncan36: Funny to read what all the FORD bashers have to say. LOL.. FORD didn't need a GOV BAIL OUT, GM did! LOL.. Chrysler/Dodge mainly owned by FIAT now! LOL.. FORD, still Family owned, still family run, NO BAIL OUTS! Throughout the years GM/Chrysler/Dodge & AMC have taken many ideas from Ford/Lincoln/Mercury. History shows that FORD has been the main American automotive innovator throughout the years.

  • @duncan36: And never forget there is no such thing as Chevrolet, it's just a division name. The Chevrolet brothers left GM in 1915, and mainly worked for FORD RACING on the Fronty Ford race cars and built Ford Racing Parts for the Fronty Ford racers too. Chivy-Let guys hate that fact! LOL.. There isn't any Chevrolet name casting or Chevy name casting on any engine block I've ever saw either.LOL.. It's casting says GM. And the bodies were made by Fisher for many years.

  • My dad had a 1957 Ford Fairlane sedan that he brought new that year. The car had clean lines and was beautifully styled. Ford led the auto industry in that aspect, especially in the 1950s.

  • dam i think i am late, i should have really hurried! the lot was full of plastic buggy's darn!

  • I guess I better hurry!

  • Wow! I'm going to see my Ford dealer today!!!

  • lol

  • @primeralives I went and all they were selling were pieces of plastic...

  • awesome!

  • This was taken at the Eastland Center in Harper Woods, Michigan.

  • Really great. This shows what great styling cars had back then. Nowadays... y.a.w.n.

  • Thanks. Where did u find this old tv run?
