great vid my man, i fish sea trout and atlantics every summer in newfoundland
and one thing im starting to find is this drab but yet over dresses classic/modernized flies tend to be more succesful then your completely modern streamers and exact replica bug flies. great vid
Good fly your man says that a sea trouts favourite colour is orange he must be fishing on mars or something a sea trouts fave colour is silver and black good video
nice, the stillwater bobbin holder, same as I have, no point in spending loads on stuff, only things I think people should spend a bit more on are scissors and vices, other things, whilst they're nice to have, aren't absolutely nessecary
looks like a gud 1 to tie, thou i reckon a beginner wishing to tie it will find it difficult to hear wat u r saying as,think u forgot to turn the sound on ure radio/tv down. i had problems tryin to listen to u speaking

just so you know, a sea trouts favorite colour is orange. they will take anything that is orange. try adding a bit of it on that fly and you might even get more success.
ok. obviously the colours will vary. not just orange, orange orange. but when a sea trout sees other little fish, or shrimp and things like that in the ocean, they will always have an orange tint to it. orange is a natural feeding colour to sea trout.
you got all the gear but need some rubber on your pliers. hackle is tied wrong start at tail of fly and work up, as i bet a lot of sea trout wreck the fly how you tie it, plus then rib reverse side to hackle. also try adding a red tag/ tail to it and i bet it would work wonders. i tie a very similer fly for salmon when fishing early morning or late evening in fast water, they love it. maybe a few lessons to maximise your equipment, nice attempt though.
Nice vid Will, great to see a tying vid! But i so wanted to show you the proper way of tying this type of fly, re the palmered hackle and ribbing. Tie the hackle in by the tail, stroke the fibres to form a "double hackle". Wind the hackle to the head, then wind the ribbing to the head in opposite direction to make a more secure tying i.e. clockwise hackle, anti clockwise rib.
No doubt tho, this fly will certainly rise sea trout! Alan

you should really change the position of the camera because your hand gets in the way a lot
