  • Woooww, so much creativity!!!! 4 years of development for that? Is that a new way to go on strike for Microsoft engineers? I use PP all the time and honestly they could do much better than this.

  • I am struggling to have the effect at the beginnig with words "welcome to Powerpoint"

I have tried to apply a zoom as the entrance and exit effects but it doesn't work.

    Anyone got a clue?

  • @FrancesKingSchool It's a transition actually -- look for "Dynamic Content" in the transitions gallery, and then apply "Fly Through"

  • @surfwave3 Thanks a lot! Much appreciated.

  • @rikard92 Exactly !

  • I know Powerpoint 2010 was gonna be good, but not this good.

  • u matherfucka asswholee

  • Its incredible!

But, can anyone help me. Is this a common layout, its so awesome, but i can't find it?

  • Oh no, as if we don't have enough annoying and distracting effects already...

  • KEYNOTE IS SO MUCH BETTER

  • Whoa!!! I have PowerPoint 2010 but I don't know how to do that cool stuff!!!!:O

  • "brand new DirectX Slideshows?" Are you kidding me??? This is a total rip off of Keynote. What coming next? An aluminum look? An Informator windows???

  • @PeakManagement That really is a wonderfully created presentation.

Can't wait to get my hands on it.

  • @sknkwrx yes u're right! wow!!!

  • i am making some really awesome animations with powerpoint 2010

    It really rocks!

  • You can check the vid we created with PPT 2010 by clicking on my username..really some snazzy features they packed in there...Would like to see a couple of more features like wrapping text around object and overlaying pics..That would really take it to another level. Good job MS!!

  • At the start i thought it was keynote lol

  • bullcrap!this is keynote!

  • @mrspeedstack

Not really, keynote is better xp

  • Keynotes may have nice templates, but there is just no where near as much customization availble in Keynotes as there is in Office. PowerPoint is much more powerfull, and I love 2007. 2010 is going to be a blast!

  • Keynote is for noobs really!

  • Who thinks Powerpoint 2010 rocks +2

    Who dont -2 ;D

  • who thinks powerpoint2010 Rox +1 ;P

    Who dont -1 ofc ;D

  • Apple Keynote was built with compatibility (since back in 2003) and it read/play both .ppt files and keynote (.key) files.

    Can Powerpoint 2010 read/play keynote files/presentations?

  • why should ppt need to read/pay keynote files?

  • @RenzLix - For the same reason Keynote is be able to read ppt files - Compatibility. Users ought have the freedom to create their work and present it the way it was meant to be presented without worrying about what machine will be used to showcase that presentation

  • Microsoft is trying to close apple off by not allowing compatability with Keynote. And the graphics in keynote are too powerful for powerpoint anyway.

  • hahha

    nice one lol

  • This is basically "Microsoft" Keynote. Those photocopiers are still hot.

  • Is that before or after you finally realize you cant play half of the games ever published in the world or that you don't have as much software that's compatible with your crappy operating system than with Windows?

  • That crappy operating system you speak of can be left on for months at a time without crashing, where as my experience with windows required that I shut down windows at least once every few days.

Oh, and btw, we can use bootcamp to install windows for games. Guess that just destroyed your argument, huh?

  • Not really, you have to use emulation that isn't guaranteed to work, whereas all I have to do is put the disc in.

And if you have an issue with keeping windows running for more than a couple days, than clearly you need to seek your attention in computer specs rather than different operating systems.

  • @swiftmpc

Wrong again. Windows can be booted on any intel mac natively, using bootcamp. Natively, meaning it is not virtualized. Of course, virtualization via VMware fusion or parallels is also an option to, but bootcamp is free, and runs windows natively, meaning I can run crysis on all very high settings on for example, a 24, or 27" iMac.

Finally, my computers are stuffed with 4 gigs of memory standard, and windows, due to poor coding still requires restarting once every couple of days.

  • My PC is left on 24/7 and with no problems to speak of.

    MY OPINION AND CONCLUSION:

Your PC will only have problems is you're a dumbass.

  • Ok, let me fill you in on something. I fix computers as a side job. I fix computers for my neighbors, relatives, and friends. Guess how many of these computers were macs? None of them. Every single computer I have ever fixed was a windows computer. Every single one. Whenever I had to fix those computers, they generally had an uncountable amount of viruses and spyware.

If I am a dumbass, so is the rest of the world, because unlike you, the majority of windows users will face instability issues.

  • Its quite alright, you have to go to sleep every night knowing you own a mac.

  • I am sick of people saying this is copy of KeyNote... yea, there are SIMILAR transitions and effects, but its about time the REAL presentation software got an uplift in visual styles and DirectX acceleration. Good timing too, since I have an important presentation coming up and will be sure to use that :D

Sorry, Mac users, but no one really uses KeyNote in the business world. NO ONE!

  • @digitalbladeca

Hence the reason why 99% of the world's computer presentations look so freakishly bland, and generic.

Seriously, when people have keynote presentations, they look like creative geniuses.

Well, its good to know that microsoft has finally improved powerpoint, but that means that Apple's pages 2010 will be even better!

  • Wow, poor copy of iWork...

  • hahaha! microsoft can copy and paste!

  • microsoft has done like what did before. just copy of iwork. nevertheless not well like iwork

  • It can tease as much as you like, but I still don't find a way yet, or intuitive way in the furutre to rename a slide.

  • I wondered at first if it was made in Keynote, but yeah, it's Powerpoint. Great work!

  • The thing that's always bugged me about PowerPoint was when I would get a PP presentation sent to me I could never see the thing because I didn't have PP... I wonder if you can same your presentations to Silverlight?

  • You can now export them as videos, or view them in your internet browser without PowerPoint with the PowerPoint Web Apps.

In the mean time, you could download the PowerPoint Viewer for free.

  • i already export my presentation like a video with keynote and is really good 'cause i can make it more interactive, i'm a keynote lover (L) u know hahaha but this version of powerpoint seems awesome and maybe i'll get it 'cause the compatibily thing *-*

  • i have a power point show due for a class and i have no idea on how to do it? anyone help?

  • Apple Keynote ?

  • no its something better :)

  • isn't that Apple Keynote??! o.O

  • This is a fuking bad Microsoft copy of Apple Keynote Ö

  • Very looks like Keynote !

Hey !! That background from Keynote

    What your inventive Hmm... ?

    M$

  • Well, it took them roughly 12 years, but they have a decent product now.

It's shameful to showcase a product or service with PowerPoint 2007.

  • You are joking right? You do know how to use powerpoint 2007 don't you? Is there no craft left in design anymore? Do people know how to design any more? It's not just about 3D slide transitions.

  • I'm no designer. But man, I haven't seen a single decent .pps in my whole life. Even showcases from Nvidia or Intel suck if they are made in PowerPoint.

  • Actually Office 2007 is probably the best Office out.

  • are you serious! I've made some amazing presentaitons in PowerPoint 07. You just need to learn how to use it (as in, don't asume it is the same as '03 with a new interface.)

  • Could you upload them somewhere? Like I said, every single Powerpoint presentation I saw was sub-par compared to professional media.

  • damn, i SO want one but probably can't afford it right now since i just got a new computer..

  • i like windows. and this is prolly just as good as anything- better than vista, though, i hope-

but it does look a lot like whatever-the-name-is for the apple equivalent.

  • I know i'll get spam marked or something but it does look like keynote. Though somethings do look very new and very good. Well done microsoft

  • i am loving Office 2010 right now, nothing has bugged me except when i'm showing it off to people and that's when it takes longer to start up (probably because it's on battery)

  • This is just awesome! I'm definitely getting it!

  • Nice. Can't wait to get Office 2010.

  • Well at least they were nice and took out the slide showing the incredibly big bar showing PowerPoint's sales compared to Keynote. If you want to continue to Apple rant about MS copying them then take a look at Apple basing OS X off Unix and also basing Safari off of Linux's Konqueror. I wonder what you will say when Apple uses Microsoft Zunes social networking ideas in iTunes 9

  • At least they spread it around! ;)

  • It's an evolutionary process. Companies develop features that become the norm and are picked up by other companies. It's just the way things improve and build upon one another.

  • that's your opinion, isn't it?

  • Comment removed

  • good stuff!

  • Nice result. Hopefully it didn't take 30+ hours to put it together.

  • Cool! Need this for my office!
