Fantastic rendition. I'm using this song to practice my chord progressions. It's a toughie, but sounds great when I get it right! Thanks so much for this!
Really great lesson, most other lessons and tabs I looked at made it look much more complicated. Easy to follow, and now, thanks to you, easy to play. Nice one :)
Look guys, this lesson is not for total beginners. You have to know the chords almost perfect. I think the lesson is good, and the song too. Thanks mate :)
I have to say. Great lesson. No Talking about yourself how great you are. Its a given. If you dont know what he is talking about you should get some chords down before you think of playing DS.
sounds decent enough ;)... joke, great, here you can see all types of chord holding, basic, barre... just pick what suites you best and what sounds best to you
Great Work Thanks... but would you mind explain the strumming pattern for the different chords? It's kind of hard to make them out from the video and it just doesn't sound as good...
yo im having so much trouble with the rhythm other than that its good you think you can help me out with that? by the way thats some sick playing really good
I think this vid is for people who can play to a reasonable standard already, beginners might struggle so you're best off trying another version like that annoying Yank's version (8.48 mins) who does it very slowly and more simply.
Facts 1. Your reading my comment 2. Now your saying/thinking thats a stupid fact. 4. You didnt notice that i skipped 3. 5. Your checking it now. 6. Your smiling. 7. Your still reading my comment. 8. You know all you have read is true. 10. You didnt notice that i skipped 9. 11. Your checking it now. 12. You didnt notice there are only 10 facts
You need to do a bit of practice and learn you chords and changing between them before you can take this song on. I'm not teaching people how to play. I'm teaching a version of a song.
dont wanna sound like a nob but whys everyone havin a go n a moan. If you watch the video he clearly explains everything you need to know. Stop askin for the chords and either write them down or just play to the video. As for askin for the strummin pattern, it would be far easier to just play your own than read one from here. Im an extreme beginner but i know what hes talkin bout. If your serious bout playin then research some friggin chords
B flat's played more easily with the base note being the 6th fret of the E string. F is the 8th fret on the A string, and then C is the 8th fret on the E string.
The best lesson yet of this song. I don't see why you have to explain the strumming part. Cause its so natural like. Good job sir! Now all I gotta do is learn the lyrics and I got it made.
@TheBannerBoy ha hahaha!! lol - quite agree, it's nice to get straight to the point. Thanks for this great, short lesson - am now playing an acceptable version of SoS on my uke with your help
??u cant see and hear? must be kinda hard to enjoy youtube that way . You still pull it off and very well typed a comment, so bravo! I highly respect people who will head on compensate for their disabilities by fighting through the struggle. You are of a very inspirational and rare kind.
Man thats a nice sounding Guitar, did you mean it took 20 years to find a taylor that plays like that or that brand that plays exactly like that. Im left handed if it took you 20 years to find that guitar imagine how long it will take me to find one. They only have like 3 leftys in every guitar store.
To YJ Woad Warrior: I think it's all 16th notes since it's a very fast rhythm but I'm not sure.
udud xdud udud xdud is one bar. The beat is on each first note so I guess it's all 16th notes. x means that you don't touch the strings but the beat is on that mute stroke.Excuse my English!
No, not a chuck. You hear absolutely nothing because your hand moves up but you don't touch the strings. Practically a pause. I meant the beat with your foot when you stamp the 4th notes with your foot with the rhythm.
Excellent, Scott.
