the BEST rpg for gameboy color and advance of ALL time! I remember even my dad playing this as the VERY FIRST game ever played on game boy advance and he LOVED IT i just told him i found it and he was like man that was a good game xD

For everyone who wants to play this on DS (like I am)

You need an r4. If you do, download Lameboy (NDS GBC emulator) put it in your games file and make another folder called Gameboy Games and put dragon warrior 3 in the folder! thumbs up so others can see!

if I was thinking, and I will buy a portable video game Dingoo one, he is able to emulate psx, gbc, gba, super nes, genesis etc, it will be perfect in this case good and cheap.

For some reason I never liked RPGs like FFVII but when it comes to these eagle eye view types on GBC like Dragon Quest and Pokemon I can't get enough.

part 2 of my comment  and a sort of devil boss either black or purple and behind that boss was a human(the area was like a dugeon or a cave) the boss was protecting and wouldn't let u through unless u beat him/her. u could organize ur party like a monster would be first,then u and ur other monsters, but ur sprite would change to a demon with wings like in the begging of dragon warrior 3. hope this helps because i really want to play this game

need help remembering a game for gbc

okay let me give u guys as much detail as i can:

its like this game were u fight monsters and its not dwm2 or dwm

you could have up to 3 monsters and u (the main character)could attack (the player/tamer) and when u fought bosses the background would turn black (also where u pick the options,like command,flee,fight the color was brown)and i remember fighitng two bosses, a sort of condor but colorful all around also this eagle/condor joins u after u defeat it

I had 400k from betting, I thought the music would never stop playing. I never needed to earn money again. I also had 5 change staffs and wreck whips for my whole party. I love this game soooo much, I played it more than the pokemon games(not all the pokemon games in total, that would just be crazy). I wish I could erase my memory and replay it because after play through 4 times its not as fun. I didn't do everything I wanted to do before my it broke, I did get to talk to Ortega though.

I think in most newer games the most important part of the RPG is lost, the story. Its not about graphics, the battle system or nothing like that. I like the way the story was told in that game, not that it was really deep (thats where you imagination comes into play,, to make something of it, with your mind, like a book) I think graphics and stuff sometimes get in the way of your own brain. So I think I'll just keep this in my heart as a warm memory and move on to the next story.

i agree, i think there are 2 reasons for this, first it needs more time and money to have a good story in game, second most companies really think that graphics equals the game and players will buy it as long as the graphics is good. square enix really needs to get kicked in the butt especially for this (FF12 comes to mind). Maybe that's y i prefer 2D RPGs more than 3D ones.

I just recently bought this game at Gamestop. Although it sucks that they don't make the games anymore, at least the prices are good. I'm not very far, tho. Just got to the first Traveler's Gate. Enix games seem to repeat a lot of stuff. Monsters and Items mainly.

Dragon Quest IX is in preduction over in Japan and they just finished remaking DQ IV and are in on the remake of DQ V all for the DS.

lol....i got 57k gold in total...Wanna know how? SIMPLE! Well.. just go Romaly or any place with the monster gambling thing. Save first then go over there.. bet bet bet win lose or what ever. Once u win big go save again. If u keep losing money restart the game and u will still have ur money that u lost! SIMPLE! really i made 20k in 20 mins =)
