So basically I just cook the white rice, wait 'til it cools all the way down to room temperature, pack it in a container & store it in the fridge for 3 days, then I'm good to go for this recipe right? ....thanks for the clarification.
Hi Dave, I am a total newb when it comes to cooking, so it's nice to see food being cooked at a comprehensible level for me. Just one question: how did you make the fried rice, or can you get it already made & boxed at the store?
That looks awesome, Dave (not that I'm surprised).
I have a 1 lb. pork tenderloin sitting in my freezer. I think you've helped me decide what it will be used for :).
I really like the idea of the bite-sized onions and peppers, too. I can imagine it would help the flavor a lot.. not only from the juices released into the sauce, but also by getting some in each bite.
Dammit now I want some. I might be making a trip to the store for some ingredients lol.
The cornstarch is important for the desired consistancy and it also helps the suace to stick to the chicken. If you use a dry batter or a buttermilk batter it will not have the right texture and will change your sauce.
looks expnesive though!!! im on that college kid budget. top ramen and pork chunx... simple and plane. but you gave me some good ideas though thnx alot.
Merry christmas with your family and friends!!!! It's been a long time ago since I comment on one of your video's. This video looks very yummie!!!! I tried it for christmas with my friends and we almost fight for it because it tasted so well!!!! Thnx for your recipe and I'm looking forward to your next video's!!!
I made this too! I had made the general tso's recipe the other night and it was a huge hit! I just made this for dinner and my family loved it as well! You know how to cook! It's so easy too, I just love that. I'm a very experienced cook but I didn't make a mess in my kitchen at all making this compared to most recipes for chinese food at home I've found. I just love your recipes. I'm going to be making your alfredo sauce in a few nights
i love you dave! i randomly happened upon your site and i have never been so mesmerized and entertained whilst watching someone cook. Tomorrow, I'm gonna hop on my bike to go to the grocery store and make some chinese style dishes (with a southern twist!). Most of all, i love your southern accent...it puts a smile on my face
Made this tonight for my girlfriend and I and we both loved it. You're the man Dave! You helped me bring some Asian flavor to my Kraft Dinner kitchen lol. The rest of your videos are great as well so keep up the good work, it's very much appreciated.
Man, that looks good!! I tried your fried rice recipe earlier this week with some sesame chicken... MMMMMM mmmmmm MMMMMM!!!!! Good stuff, Dave. Thanks!
i love that you show us the meat before you prepare and season it. i'm kind of new at cooking, so i had no idea what a raw pork tenderloin even looked like.
Wow Dave looks great! I need to try that one. Working too much lately and have not had time to cook much. I did cook a big ham the other day and have the ham bone in the frige & thought about making some black eyed peas though. Too much working..... Sigh
Nice, Dave! Very similar to how I make it. I add a couple drops of red food coloring to the sauce though, and if I happen to have any canned lychees on hand I'd throw a few in along with the pineapple. Or a small can of mandarin orange segments. Just variations on the theme.
That looks so good! I've just been watching your videos since yesterday and I'm hooked! I'm definitely going to try this one out! Do you think this would work with prawns or chicken?
Now, not being a 'knife guru' I'm wondering if the loin could be sliced along the grain first before cubing just to save time. OK, I know it's not pro-chef stuff here, but curious.
BTW, I was in the country areas in Australia recently and noticed that most Chinese takeaways there used a little pineapple in most of their dishes. Sorta strange I thought...
Good Lord, Dave..just about shorting out the keyboard with my watering mouth. You really should start posting warnings/disclaimers before your videos! this is my next dinner plan! Thanks again, Dave!
man i gots to try this one tonite out of all the people that postrecipes yours by far are the best hands down they remind me of the comfort food i grew up with thanx dave i hope you dont run out of recipes any time soon!
hi dave!!!! thanx for another yummy recipie. now i know that this is a chinese recipie, but i was hoping that you would have snuck in the italian seasoning in the batter.
Just a little hint on an easy way to keep flour, put it in a large plastic pitcher, one with a removable lid, easier to see how much you have, easier to pour or to simply reach in an grab what you need, lot less mess too.
lol, thats the same with most chinese dishes that are served in america. This is because the stuff you eat at chinese resturants is chinese-american food! TRUE chinese food is almost nothng like the stuff you eat here. its still good, but vastly different.

philbx1 2 years ago
chinese uses pineapple in sweet & sour pork is because pineapple itself is sweet & sour
adding pineapple will spice & bring out the flavour of the whole dish.
also, it taste better when you eat it together with the pork.
