  • u sound like u hungry

  • dang that looks goood! (drool)

  • Nevermind, I saw your fried rice video :)

So basically I just cook the white rice, wait 'til it cools all the way down to room temperature, pack it in a container & store it in the fridge for 3 days, then I'm good to go for this recipe right? ....thanks for the clarification.

  • Hi Dave, I am a total newb when it comes to cooking, so it's nice to see food being cooked at a comprehensible level for me. Just one question: how did you make the fried rice, or can you get it already made & boxed at the store?

  • Hi Dave! My friend Lauren Loucks shared this on FB with me. Looks mighty yummy!

  • That looks awesome, Dave (not that I'm surprised).

I have a 1 lb. pork tenderloin sitting in my freezer. I think you've helped me decide what it will be used for :).

I really like the idea of the bite-sized onions and peppers, too. I can imagine it would help the flavor a lot.. not only from the juices released into the sauce, but also by getting some in each bite.

Dammit now I want some. I might be making a trip to the store for some ingredients lol.

  • Dave, you the the shzzz. You do real food for real people. I'm gonna try sweet and sour pork today. Can you do the exact same thing with chicken?

  • I love your voice!

  • Why don't you make videos anymore?

  • 15 Degrees outside, thanks for warming up my insides......Applause, Applause.

  • i like turtles

  • you should open a takeaway you will make a hole load money with recipes like this, ill buy that :)

  • he is the coolest cook

  • dave,you r the coolest cook!!!!!!!!!!!!!hands down

  • great videos, but I recommend for you to put some music or something man.

  • Hey Dave, is there any chance i can take the cornstarch out ?

  • The cornstarch is important for the desired consistancy and it also helps the suace to stick to the chicken. If you use a dry batter or a buttermilk batter it will not have the right texture and will change your sauce.

    Thanks.

    Dave

  • Very helpful video! Thanks!

  • looks expnesive though!!! im on that college kid budget. top ramen and pork chunx... simple and plane. but you gave me some good ideas though thnx alot.

  • Am tying my hand at S&S Pork today. This video was a lot of help. Cheers.

  • Ya done it again, Dave.

I tried it for christmas with my friends and we almost fight for it because it tasted so well!!!! Thnx for your recipe and I'm looking forward to your next video's!!!

  • I made this too! I had made the general tso's recipe the other night and it was a huge hit! I just made this for dinner and my family loved it as well! You know how to cook! It's so easy too, I just love that. I'm a very experienced cook but I didn't make a mess in my kitchen at all making this compared to most recipes for chinese food at home I've found. I just love your recipes. I'm going to be making your alfredo sauce in a few nights

  • man you make look so easy

  • if you get time you should do a video on care and upkeep on a dutch oven

  • I already have one here on youtube. It is part of the cast iron collection video. Cast iron the Seasoning!

    Dave

  • dave i randomly found ur video looks good im gona try it.lota cooking videos arent very good on utube.keep up the good wrk bud!

  • Dave, is it ok to omit the ginger? Your recipe in the description doesn't include it.

  • OOPS? Thanks for letting me know. It is up to you, if you do not like ginger, you can omit it.

    Thanks,

    Dave

  • Dave, when are you gonna get a show on Food Network?

  • Awesome, this is dinner tonight.

  • i love you dave! i randomly happened upon your site and i have never been so mesmerized and entertained whilst watching someone cook. Tomorrow, I'm gonna hop on my bike to go to the grocery store and make some chinese style dishes (with a southern twist!). Most of all, i love your southern accent...it puts a smile on my face

  • Hey Dave, Love the shirt. My brothers and I are really interested in making Phad Thai. Do you have any good recipes for that?

  • Made this tonight for my girlfriend and I and we both loved it. You're the man Dave! You helped me bring some Asian flavor to my Kraft Dinner kitchen lol. The rest of your videos are great as well so keep up the good work, it's very much appreciated.

  • hey dave!

i love that you show us the meat before you prepare and season it. i'm kind of new at cooking, so i had no idea what a raw pork tenderloin even looked like.

  • Wow Dave looks great! I need to try that one. Working too much lately and have not had time to cook much. I did cook a big ham the other day and have the ham bone in the frige & thought about making some black eyed peas though. Too much working..... Sigh

  • Dave, this was fantastic. We get great tenderloins down here. Thanks WGC

  • I love pork tenderloin. Pretty pricy though. Nice job!

  • Very nice, thanks Dave!

    vp

  • Hells to the ya!

  • awesome !!!!

  • Nice, Dave! Very similar to how I make it. I add a couple drops of red food coloring to the sauce though, and if I happen to have any canned lychees on hand I'd throw a few in along with the pineapple. Or a small can of mandarin orange segments. Just variations on the theme.

  • YUM!!!! this is my favorite video so far

  • Hey dave!

Is there a chance I could take out the garlic, I'm terribly intolerant to it!

This looks super good, keep cookin'!

    -EVA

  • Sure Eva, its cooking! It will be fine without garlic.

    Thanks,

    Dave

    Dave

  • Is that considered upstate? Im from GA but live in upstate SC now

  • Yes it is the upstate. I am from the lowcountry, but I have lived in the upstate since 1998. I live in anderson.

    Dave

  • Uh oh! Im in Greenville. Im living next door to a superstar lol! Nice to meet u. Fav vid EVER was the Valentines Dinner. Loved it!

  • Dave do the Mulet hair style .. and get more rest

  • That looks so good! I've just been watching your videos since yesterday and I'm hooked! I'm definitely going to try this one out! Do you think this would work with prawns or chicken?

  • It would be ggod with chicken, but I do not know about shrimp?

    THanks,

    Dave

  • Dave loooks good! Don't worry about the hair, loooks good. Keep on cookin and fishin....lol

  • Nice stuff again Dave. Thanks much!

Now, not being a 'knife guru' I'm wondering if the loin could be sliced along the grain first before cubing just to save time. OK, I know it's not pro-chef stuff here, but curious.

BTW, I was in the country areas in Australia recently and noticed that most Chinese takeaways there used a little pineapple in most of their dishes. Sorta strange I thought...

  • chinese uses pineapple in sweet & sour pork is because pineapple itself is sweet & sour

adding pineapple will spice & bring out the flavour of the whole dish.

also, it taste better when you eat it together with the pork.

  • keep posting more videos - they are awesome!

  • Good Lord, Dave..just about shorting out the keyboard with my watering mouth. You really should start posting warnings/disclaimers before your videos! this is my next dinner plan! Thanks again, Dave!

  • man i gots to try this one tonite out of all the people that postrecipes yours by far are the best hands down they remind me of the comfort food i grew up with thanx dave i hope you dont run out of recipes any time soon!

  • Ahhhhhllll Riiiiiight! :D

  • Hi Dave sorry for this ! YOU NEED A HAIRCUT!!

  • Yeah, I know.....did you vote on the hair cut in the fried rice video?

    Dave

  • *drooling on my keyboard* O_O

  • OK, I am totally starving now, hahaha!!!

  • You are the man dave.

  • hi dave!!!! thanx for another yummy recipie. now i know that this is a chinese recipie, but i was hoping that you would have snuck in the italian seasoning in the batter.

  • that looks divine...*drools*

  • Your the man Dave!

  • I'm allergic to pineapples, what can I put in as an alternative?

  • You could use lemon or lime or more vinegar, anything that gives it a tart flavor.

    Dave

  • looks like the oil isnt hot enough.

  • did he ever give the recipe for the fried rice?

  • Yes, it is the previous video! Check it out!

    THanks,

    Dave

    Thanks for posting the vids!

  • Thank you! Ive been looking for a good recipe for this!

  • these are the best videos on youtube. I love em

  • you are the worlds greatest chef

    5 STARS!!!!

  • Aw, you burnt your hand? :'(

  • It looks awsome!....yummy

  • Man I need a guy like you who can cook. lol That looks so yummy. Deep frying is not too healthy for the heart but I would attempt this dish. Barb

  • Just a little hint on an easy way to keep flour, put it in a large plastic pitcher, one with a removable lid, easier to see how much you have, easier to pour or to simply reach in an grab what you need, lot less mess too.

  • Good job dave! Can you cook Bourbon chicken like they make at some of the malls?

  • My wife works at the Mandarin Express she brings some of that home from time to time.

  • yum that looks like come good s&s pork!

  • yummm...

  • You know General Tso's is an American dish? It doesn't even exist in China.

  • lol, thats the same with most chinese dishes that are served in america. This is because the stuff you eat at chinese resturants is chinese-american food! TRUE chinese food is almost nothng like the stuff you eat here. its still good, but vastly different.

  • looks good

    cut yur hair dave!!

  • hey im glad your doin vids again look great

  • that looks so good

  • nice job yo

  • Good Job Dave, as usual

  • nice wings man
