It works that way that you have a little bit of liquid still in the bottle. The amount of liquid is that if you put it on the edge like that you have the liquid to the edge of the corner. It will work as a weight against the metal from above. You can't do this with an empty can.

I can't believe people are so stupid! It's so damn obvious. If you look closely at the start you can see that the can's been cut in half. So he probably inserted a spinning top, which was attached to a piece of string, and then glued the top of the can back on. I'll bet that there's a fan in the room which the string from the spinning top is attached to, so the rotating motion keeps the can from falling over. I dumbfounded that people couldn't work that out!!!
