Some foreighner telling good comment here about Japanese these host men. Probably because read about Japanese host in manga. I am Japanese, and I am so shame of these culture, host men and stupid women who can like it.
they behaive just so disgusting. and they think they are cool and being too narcist. but this video is interesting, because I am sure this woman also felt disgusting and uncomfort to host men who think so narcist although not even cool.
these hosts era pretty smarts because she said that she cant drink well so she drank water but when they brought her champangne on the house and all of the hosts gather around her she HAD TO drink xD
It annoys me that here I live in Norway, the boys are not as cute as the Japanese guys, that woman is lucky, I would like to travel to Japan one day:))
Lol, I was saying "ohmegosh! so embarrassing, what was she thinking?" Lol, she was so lucky to be surrounded by hot hosts :D And she ordered WATER!!? Lmao! I bet they were revealed to be drinking water instead of having to drink so much champaign :D
My friend dated a host member, she would go almost every other day to check up on him (She had to be with different hosts @ the time) and she'd ask us why she went there and spent her hard earned money just to watch him flirt and pour drinks for his women customers, Eventually he decided it was time to quit when she got mad and started yelling at him :P But anways, the club and hosts look awesome ^^
My friend dated a host once. Lived in Japan, but when she went back to her homeland, long distance thing wasn't their thing, so they broke it off, but still friends :3
I would not mind going to a host bar, problem is however...I do not drink alcohol at all and I do not speak Japanese...so even if I did go to Japan, it would be off limits for me. Lovely looking men though.
FYI if you didn't know, if you order a bottle of champange the club does that thig you saw at the end. I heard the champange is really really expensive though.
I LOL'd throughout the ENTIRE video. I wouldn't mind going to a male host club at least once, but if its as cheesy as that, I'd make sure to be a little tipsy BEFORE heading inside. XDDD
Would've been cool to check out Kabukicho. But, seeing as Japan is going to be a radioactive wasteland in a couple of months (give or take), I'll probably try Seoul instead.
LOL! she ordered water.. The guys must've said 'WTFFF?!?!' in their minds.. I know I would.. You would not believe how lonely people in japan can get and these dudes take their job seriously.. Contrary to what people think that they get all the sex they want from women.. They don't.. Purely business so never fall for one..! I'd like to try to do this job for a night.. Only I'm a girl and i'm into boys.. :))
The ending narration made me burst out laughing. "So how does some top class service from a team of good looking hosts sound? They'll sweep you away to a land of dreams.BUT be careful to not spend too much money." X3 Yup, don't spend too much money doods. X3
i am good friends with a host form japan, and he is doing it to help out his mother and friend. He is a sweet guy, and is easy to talk to. But I don't think i would be able to last in there with all those men like that lady did. I would forget all my japanese and just stare at them with my face burning all red lol.
They are really great trying to keep the convo lively with the little input she gives them. I'd so blow all my money in there and leave with a smile. People say hosts are evil manipulators for forcing you to drink beyond your limits, but that's what happens when I go drinking with my colleagues or groups of group of friends as well. Only difference is that they make money on my drinking, but if I have a good time like I do with my friends it's a fair trade off. Don't go if you can't afford it
sorry if i affend enyone but i think the host thing is really stupid and corny and i cant belive girls would go because there ment to have guys chasing after them and stuff its kinda pitiful but it seems kinda funny to go to one lol and sorry againe if i have affended enyone
@animechb I would love to go to a host bar. I think it would be fun and to have men service and wait on me, giving me all their attention while at the same time being respectful and non-threatening. I've told my Husband several times I've wanted to go. He thinks the whole idea is silly but if we ever go to Japan I would go. Think of it as a stress reliever.
@PorkChopMissPiggy i can see it as a laugh, but stress reliver i cant see that lol, but i kinda find it creepy that a guy would do that as ajob, and i see were ur getting at, if i ever go to japan i would go to one just to for a laugh lol
@animechb It's so tiring sometimes to play love's game of chase in real life, having to deal with cheaters and players. Trying to impress your partner and stressing about what he thinks of you. In a host club you can just let go, be your imperfect annoying arrogant dumb self and still have handsome men show interest, not caring what they think. Doesn't have to be a self-esteem issue really since most women in there are gorgeous. They just seek unconditional 'care' + eye candy. I need that 2 XD
some hosts got CARS or APARTMENTS!!???? dam!! i wanna be a host >___<
.....but on my opinion, thee boys are cute and hot...but the thought of them being shared with loads of women can be very lonely :/ (if ur their girlfriend)
I've been wanting to go to a host club since I'm living in Japan currently but I have some questions. Like Robin, I can't drink alcohol, I know hosts make most of their commission from selling alcohol, but if I go in and order non-alcoholic drinks would you happen to know how that is usually looked upon at host clubs? Also, without ordering alcohol how much would say 2-3 hours in a host club cost?
in german a word was invented that means to be embarassed for another person..."fremdschämen"...there's so much crap in german tv that we needed this word and watching this makes me quite embarassed for the woman...
OMG I was laughing shyly andfelt embarrassed watching this too lol. It was so weird having these guys all over you and like complimenting you becuase they're paid too XD
The only thing I'm jealous of that lady is her Japanese. I don't think I would pay for such thing but it could be a great experience even though I would rather be sorrounded by the gazettE :)
i think i'd blush like 1000 tomatoes and be too embarrassed to look into any of their eyes lolz. then i'd convert to my default conversation starter of "do you like star wars?"
man this is so sad even they are rich and stuff.. you can tell that they are sad by talking and stuff... I think 90% are lonely and 10% are doing because they like it.. fame money attention..
If mybe i become a journalist I really want to interview those guys.. what they really feel in thoso clubs..
@Freak16 :: hahaha that's funny! when you actually know the language and intonation, though, they didn't sound sad at all. I've never been to any, but I've had hostess/host friends. they seemed normal to me, in the sense that they were personable.
@shotmana dont mean anything that's there jobs are bad.. no not that it's just i dont know if you seen The Great Happiness Space: Tale Of An Osaka Love Thief
but than you know what I mean, But it's also great that hostess/host that you know are normal I mean (stess, lonely) and stuff if they like or can handle this job that's happy to hear. Watch this documentry and hear it from Issei (ex host/bar owner) his story is diffrent what we seen here but all the host bars are not the same also.. =)
@XenosWyn By the way, all the girls actually know it's just "work" to the hosts, so they may act as they are in love a bit, or fawn over the guys, they hardly really ever fall in love with one of them.
I couldn't help but laugh loudly when the narrator said, "Where you will find men, of the night" in a really dramatic tone, as if we were observing a species of bear or something XDD
i think she was not the right person to go there come on she doesn't drink and she's engaged what was she thinking -_- i should've went insted of her XD
@080103208 Really? Involved girls go to host clubs quite often in Japan and married women have more boyfriends on the side these days, just like involved men go to hostess clubs and married men have girlfriends on the side. I DO agree a drinker would have been a little bit more interesting though. Although, I don't want to PAY guys to pay attention to me. Seems like a moot point. If you want good talk there are PLENTY of regular bars with very interesting employees and patrons in Kabuki-cho.
It was so... such a turn off really. "It's my favourite name", yeah right. And "what Hollywood star does he look like?" What the hell?? I don't need such cheap attention .__.
Japanese chicks love it lol, they give fake attention too...actually, the whole culture is like that. Giving fake compliments, a Japanese girl at the bookstore is all "Sugoiii, anata no nihongo ha sugoi desu yo" and i'm all 'iie mada jouzu ni natteimasen yo" Telling me my japanese is good, when I know for a fact that i'm not that good yet...=]
i would just go there to laugh my ass off XDD i mean seriously like wtf XD who would go there for something so.., retarded in many aspects :| like if there arent plenty of fish in the sea -.-"
If I were to go to a strip club, I'd understand that the purpose would be to see naked girls dancing. But one of these places? Paying someone to talk to you? Why not just go talk to someone else for free? Anybody care to help me understand the concept?
@waspy89 I guess it the feeling of having someone making you their 1st priority, taking care of you and making you happy, even if it is just for a few hours, kinda like a dream. These guys know what you want, and they give it to you. They know how to make you feel like your important. I saw a few videos where the girls say that they enjoy the emotional level that they get, but they understand that for the guys its work. Its a dream world that makes the girls happy and thats why they go back. =x
@makaihime that's the first explanation that I've heard that has made any sense at all to me. Still not interested in going but thanks for taking the time to help me understand the mind-set.
In a lot of ways it seems like an escort service. And the sex is a "maybe" so I thought maybe it's the chase or the mystery that is what attracts people there??? I even had a boss that took me to a "snack" bar once. A girl poured us drinks and tried to make conversation. But I just didn't see the point in it.
I grew up in japan and I can't say that I've still been able to wrap my mind around what it is that people like about such a place. I even tried to have my japanese girlfriend explain the dynamics to me and she tried but I still don't get it.
Just watched Japan Robot nation short documentary film. Gives some insight on the decline of population and other things I was never aware of. They mentioned the Host Bars. It is interesting seeing how the women are more attracted to feminine looking men. They look like something from Final Fantasy, lol. This is kind of becoming the "thing" in the US with Emo looking guys as well. BTW, down with Twilight. It really gives a bad message to young women to being helpless and saved from mediocrity.
Did u see how tight she was holdin her purse! Bitch they're makin bank n her coochie got all wet with those lady boys wit gel she was speechless all right!
N they offered the Champagne 4 on the house n try 2 sell the whole idea of this lowbudget piece! So u get the story free champagne n u look like a typical cheap tightwad as usual lol! N your boyfriend looks lik a fat deuche bag eeeew! Lmao!
Oh these guys are GOOD. Notice how their speaking to her on the same level another woman would? These guys are able to make money despite the fact I don't find them that good looking is because they give women what they want. ATTENTION.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
most girls go there NOT for attention, just to "dream" . and you should know that japanese women have NO TASTE when it comes to men...for a japanese woman these guys are super handsome...and most girls who go to these host clubs are FUGLY.
it's 2010, most girls are after handsome and successful men, so if a guy isn't in one of those categories, expect his gf/wife to cheat on him, sooner or later, for a better looking DICK....life is full of deceptions and this is just the beginning.
I am a bisexual women. I don't have allot of money and I'm not that good looking. Average at best. So that being said when I go to the gay bar to pick up women I always give that girl my 100 attention. I listen when she speaks, I give her emotional feedback, I don't look around the room listening or looking at other girls when she speaks and I have to say I have about a 20% success rate. Which is pretty goood
Now the guys who work here all have one thing in common. They are all charming talkers. Anyone who is able to make US $30,000 a month just sitting there talking to girls has got the gift of gab. I'm a women. I want men to say nice things to me. I want men to talk about how nice my hair is, my clothes, my make up, my shoes. Things most guys don't pay attention to. I would love to go to a Host bar. Just to make spoil myself and be a princess for one day.
@PorkChopMissPiggy: I'm a woman too, but I would rather want a guy to like me for my intelligence and my character and not for the clothes I wear or for my make-up.
@xCheshireCatx I understand where your coming from in terms of a good solid relationship. What I'm referring to is entertainment and stress relief. I think it would be nice to come to a place after a long day for a drink and a charming guy who's attention is focused solely on you. I don't have to do any work. I know it's business and so does he so why not?
@PorkChopMissPiggy: Don't worry. I fully respect your opinion and there is nothing wrong with thinking like this.
It's just that the world and so many people have turned so superficial. Everything is only about beauty and money and "staying young forever" anymore. It's making me sick!
I think, if we started to value what's inside people again, we wouldn't need "host clubs". People would feel less miserable and alone, because they wouldn't be forced to live up to a certain expectation.
@xCheshireCatx Oh I hear you on that one. We women have been brainwashed by society and the various media outlets including the internet and radio that we have to look young, slim and have on great clothes, make up and have our hair done perfectly each and every time we step outside the door. It takes time but slowly over the years some people do begin to accept looking older and a bit more frumpy. Me personally I just don't care that much anymore. I've relaxed and become more mellow.
@PorkChopMissPiggy: But it gives me hope, that there are still people like you and me out there. I never cared for my looks and I never will. I don't put on make-up and I don't buy designer clothes.
What I'm interested in are books, reading, writing, learning, nature, searching for adventures, travelling and meeting new people. For me these things are so much more satisfying than clothes, shoes, make-up and all these other stuff certain people think women need!
@xCheshireCatx Smart very smart. I think in the long run it'll bring greater happiness because if you think about it rationally we spend most of our life being "old". Unless the person is planning on killing themselves at age 30.
I think that an evening in a host club will be good, just for do something different for one night in the whole life!it's funny!

man this is so sad even they are rich and stuff.. you can tell that they are sad by talking and stuff... I think 90% are lonely and 10% are doing because they like it.. fame money attention..
If mybe i become a journalist I really want to interview those guys.. what they really feel in thoso clubs..
Anyone been there.. your storys..?
Freak16 1 year ago
@Freak16 :: hahaha that's funny! when you actually know the language and intonation, though, they didn't sound sad at all. I've never been to any, but I've had hostess/host friends. they seemed normal to me, in the sense that they were personable.
shotmana 1 year ago
@shotmana dont mean anything that's there jobs are bad.. no not that it's just i dont know if you seen The Great Happiness Space: Tale Of An Osaka Love Thief
but than you know what I mean, But it's also great that hostess/host that you know are normal I mean (stess, lonely) and stuff if they like or can handle this job that's happy to hear. Watch this documentry and hear it from Issei (ex host/bar owner) his story is diffrent what we seen here but all the host bars are not the same also.. =)

i wish i was really rich then i could have spent all my money in a host bar..

I guess the reason women go there is the "princess feeling", being complimented, being in the center of the attention of all those hot guys.
Everyday life isn't as sweet as that - you may have arguments with your boyfriend, he never notices your new shoes, etc.
If you don't have a boyfriend it's even worse, you may be rejected by the guy you like or whatever.
Hosts are always nice, sweet, friendly and give you the feeling they are there just for YOU.
It's like a relaxing little dreamworld..^-^
XenosWyn 1 year ago
@XenosWyn By the way, all the girls actually know it's just "work" to the hosts, so they may act as they are in love a bit, or fawn over the guys, they hardly really ever fall in love with one of them.
XenosWyn 1 year ago
I'd feel a little embarrassed, but I'd also feel lucky to have all those cute boys all to myself. ^_^
MorganeLoveless 1 year ago 3
sheesh, i think my ears would start hurting after such shouting and it woudl irritate me, those stares and handshakes..
but, it's somehow nice too, that you get to be surrounded by those guys and have their attention...

I couldn't help but laugh loudly when the narrator said, "Where you will find men, of the night" in a really dramatic tone, as if we were observing a species of bear or something XDD

If I were to go to a strip club, I'd understand that the purpose would be to see naked girls dancing. But one of these places? Paying someone to talk to you? Why not just go talk to someone else for free? Anybody care to help me understand the concept?
waspy89 1 year ago
@waspy89 I guess it the feeling of having someone making you their 1st priority, taking care of you and making you happy, even if it is just for a few hours, kinda like a dream. These guys know what you want, and they give it to you. They know how to make you feel like your important. I saw a few videos where the girls say that they enjoy the emotional level that they get, but they understand that for the guys its work. Its a dream world that makes the girls happy and thats why they go back. =x

@makaihime that's the first explanation that I've heard that has made any sense at all to me. Still not interested in going but thanks for taking the time to help me understand the mind-set.
waspy89 1 year ago
In a lot of ways it seems like an escort service. And the sex is a "maybe" so I thought maybe it's the chase or the mystery that is what attracts people there??? I even had a boss that took me to a "snack" bar once. A girl poured us drinks and tried to make conversation. But I just didn't see the point in it.
waspy89 1 year ago
I grew up in japan and I can't say that I've still been able to wrap my mind around what it is that people like about such a place. I even tried to have my japanese girlfriend explain the dynamics to me and she tried but I still don't get it.
waspy89 1 year ago
Hahaha I think I'd be embarrassed too if they give TOO much attention like that last part

Lalla8616 1 year ago
Oh these guys are GOOD. Notice how their speaking to her on the same level another woman would? These guys are able to make money despite the fact I don't find them that good looking is because they give women what they want. ATTENTION.
PorkChopMissPiggy 2 years ago 4
This comment has received too many negative votes show
most girls go there NOT for attention, just to "dream" . and you should know that japanese women have NO TASTE when it comes to men...for a japanese woman these guys are super handsome...and most girls who go to these host clubs are FUGLY.
it's 2010, most girls are after handsome and successful men, so if a guy isn't in one of those categories, expect his gf/wife to cheat on him, sooner or later, for a better looking DICK....life is full of deceptions and this is just the beginning.
humansareevil100 1 year ago
I am a bisexual women. I don't have allot of money and I'm not that good looking. Average at best. So that being said when I go to the gay bar to pick up women I always give that girl my 100 attention. I listen when she speaks, I give her emotional feedback, I don't look around the room listening or looking at other girls when she speaks and I have to say I have about a 20% success rate. Which is pretty goood
PorkChopMissPiggy 1 year ago
Now the guys who work here all have one thing in common. They are all charming talkers. Anyone who is able to make US $30,000 a month just sitting there talking to girls has got the gift of gab. I'm a women. I want men to say nice things to me. I want men to talk about how nice my hair is, my clothes, my make up, my shoes. Things most guys don't pay attention to. I would love to go to a Host bar. Just to make spoil myself and be a princess for one day.
PorkChopMissPiggy 1 year ago 31
Totally Agree!! Me too!!
Lovelyallison 1 year ago
@PorkChopMissPiggy: I'm a woman too, but I would rather want a guy to like me for my intelligence and my character and not for the clothes I wear or for my make-up.
Looks fade. A good heart stays forever.
xCheshireCatx 1 year ago 4
@xCheshireCatx I understand where your coming from in terms of a good solid relationship. What I'm referring to is entertainment and stress relief. I think it would be nice to come to a place after a long day for a drink and a charming guy who's attention is focused solely on you. I don't have to do any work. I know it's business and so does he so why not?
PorkChopMissPiggy 1 year ago
@PorkChopMissPiggy: Don't worry. I fully respect your opinion and there is nothing wrong with thinking like this.
It's just that the world and so many people have turned so superficial. Everything is only about beauty and money and "staying young forever" anymore. It's making me sick!
I think, if we started to value what's inside people again, we wouldn't need "host clubs". People would feel less miserable and alone, because they wouldn't be forced to live up to a certain expectation.
xCheshireCatx 1 year ago
@xCheshireCatx Oh I hear you on that one. We women have been brainwashed by society and the various media outlets including the internet and radio that we have to look young, slim and have on great clothes, make up and have our hair done perfectly each and every time we step outside the door. It takes time but slowly over the years some people do begin to accept looking older and a bit more frumpy. Me personally I just don't care that much anymore. I've relaxed and become more mellow.
PorkChopMissPiggy 1 year ago
@PorkChopMissPiggy: But it gives me hope, that there are still people like you and me out there. I never cared for my looks and I never will. I don't put on make-up and I don't buy designer clothes.
What I'm interested in are books, reading, writing, learning, nature, searching for adventures, travelling and meeting new people. For me these things are so much more satisfying than clothes, shoes, make-up and all these other stuff certain people think women need!
xCheshireCatx 1 year ago
@xCheshireCatx Smart very smart. I think in the long run it'll bring greater happiness because if you think about it rationally we spend most of our life being "old". Unless the person is planning on killing themselves at age 30.
