  • @lapuDman2 My parents came here to visit a few months ago, and they pointed out that traffic has gotten worse compared to their last visit 3 years prior. I drive during off hours, so I never really noticed, but I noticed it until last week. Local and State govt. should really stress an LRT/MRT system, or investors will leave 10 years down the road due to frustration with traffic. Every Asian city has a mass transit system. BRT won't cut it.

  • @thedarkknight17 bai it doesn't matter which one they implement, they are all useful to our city..We hope they resolve this issues and start materialize it and put it in to business..

  • @lapuDman2 BRT would help ease the traffic somewhat.I guess what Im trying to say is that if the gov has to choose where to use their resources,LRT would be a far better option. The last time I read about it,Tomas was for BRT & Rama for LRT.The richest people in other cities in Asia take the train, because traffic is really big, and they don't want to waste their time in traffic. I think the same can happen here.It wont matter if a car or a bus stuck in a congested road,a bus is still stuck.

  • @thedarkknight17 bai if the gov. want the LRT that's fine but who gonna decide the politician or the people..Osmena want BRT for Cebu and Gullas want LRT for Talisay to settle this is simple, give Cebu the Brt and give Talisay the Lrt..Bai what i understant about BRT it run by its own route just like the rail system the diffrence is it use the street instead...oh well just like i said the sooner the better to start this project while they still have for room for improvement...

  • @lapuDman2 BASTA DI LANG MAG AWAY ANG DUHA KA POLITICIAN SI OSMENA OG GULLAS ang brt og lrt modayon najud ang construction sa railways ana hehehe may unta di madugay

  • @09092214584 bai madayun na gyud naa, Cebuanos can't take no for and answer specially our politician....

  • @lapuDman2 hehehe mao jud madayon na madayon...cant wait for the 2011 sinulog ...im sure bibo kaayo kay new mayor new sinulog festival hehehe

  • @lapuDman2 I hope the buses have AC if they choose to use the BRT. I wouldn't mind taking it if I can ride it comfortably. If not, then it would be like taking a jeepney. I still hope they choose the LRT though. I miss taking the train like I used to in Korea, where it had AC during the summer, and I could read, study or sleep in the train without having to worry about traffic.

  • @thedarkknight17 newly elect mayor rama clean up all side walk vendors from srp to sto nino to city hall...so clean and green na bai.

  • @09092214584 The last time I was there, I got a headache driving due to all the congestion on the roads from cars, jeepneys and people. I'd like to take a walk from sto nino to city hall and along the SRP on a cool day in December though. I love November through February in Cebu. It's a great time to be outside.

  • @lapuDman2 ohh bai over view au ang city ana dira sa pooc....sad to say puro subdivision na ang mga mountanous part sa talisay....pero ok ra develop lng

  • a real cebuano don't question another cebuano, we stick and work together for the better that's all im saying. Darkknight i know you have better intention promoting cebu ,but you have to put some CEBUANO PRIDE in it, bottom line is your family are cebuano lets get for real here.

  • FLI, we appreciate your business here in Cebu City. My only concerned is the project in SRP, hope you make cebuano proud it's a very good spot for business.

  • @lapuDman2 hope that magka uli na sila sa ilang buot sila congreesman gullas og congressman tomas osmena kay para matukod na ang TRAIN transit hahays

  • @thedarkknight17 dude, just leave me the f*ck alone either you with us or agains us. I hate people talk to much and less action!!!!

  • "Federal State of Cebu" spread the word, let it be heard for all cebuanos for our future new generation.

  • @lapuDman2 A federal system would be good for all provinces. People should study this system more and put less focus on a centralized government.

  • @lapuDman2 calm down bro! you dont have to be rude, thedarkknight17 is ok man! cant you see hes also trying to promote cebu? just be cool bro! peace! i apologize for that @ thedarkknight17.

  • @88SANMIGGY It's okay.I'm up for a debate, and it's no problem since we're all sitting behind a computer anyways.I can't be with or against anybody as lapudman2 wants, because all of my mom's siblings married literally another ethnicity in the PI. Pangasinan, Tagalog, Pampangan, Chinese and Cebuano. They're all great people, and I don't want to hate any of them. The only thing I can do is wish the best for everybody, and that Gov. sets good policies to improve the lives of people wherever they are.

  • @thedarkknight17 it's just sample straight answer,if they have a problem with that i can't do nothing about it.You know what they told me CEBU IS A VERY NICE PLACE TO LIVE i am one proud CEBUANO what can i say. CEBU CITY is the place to be proud off and all cebuanos knows that.

  • @lapuDman2 There is nothing wrong with being proud of your roots. I didn't question that. It's just that I think the fact that you write in capital letters gives a tone of disdain in your reply to the person asking you about Tagalog, and that was the point I was trying to make. I'm also not sure what the point you're trying to make by talking about Cebu in capital letters.

  • we the people of cebu have this cebuano pride that runs in our blood. we hate the tagalog and the tagalog hate us. that's just manila vs. cebu all out. it may sound condescending but that's how we cebuanos think about it.

  • @88SANM1GGY Don't you think that's blown out of proportion though?I recognize bad blood, but what I read on the internet reminds me of life in Korea and all the white people who would post hateful things about Koreans. One who would look on the internet would think all white people hate Koreans, but in reality, the majority of the white people don't waste their time spewing hate on the internet and are enjoying their lives in Korea.I think that can be applied here and anywhere around the world.

  • @88SANM1GGY no..noooooo..we have thought in such a negative way about ppl living in LUZON, due to we BISAYA not treated same when we go to LUZON. ppl in LUZON always degraded us for being BISAYA. we not start it. those ppl degrade us of being Bisaya do not know what being a Bisaya. so we get upset due to the fact that they always annoy us and brag that BISAYA.BISAYA.BISAYA. which is really a deregatory word of nuisance.

  • @llvllrProbinsyano you are right.... they call us racist word thing sa mga tagalogs

  • cebuano always have bitternes in their hearts lolz.. in every video I see in youtube, i always see comments that they hate manila tagalog etc. why?? are u just jealous or what? I dont see any valid reason for heating us tagalogs or manilenos, first and foremost tagalog is not the national language! but filipino! tagalog is just only a prototype! and you can see ilocano cebuano ilongo even indian in it! cebuano pls stop your inferiority complex pls! we are all filipinos!

  • @karlneo07 You should try coming out here to Cebu if you haven't already. There are a lot of good people here who are perfectly okay with Tagalog although there are a lot of people who won't speak it for a variety of reasons. Try not to take what you read on youtube as a representation of the 4 million plus people in Cebu. The ones who sit there behind a computer screen spewing hate from both Cebu and Manila need to relax, go out and have fun with their fellow countrymen.

  • @thedarkknight17 bro! theres a good reason behind all this animosity towards tagalog folks and i thought that by now you folks already got an idea why? well its not HATE, hate is too strong, its like annoying! its just that for decades now, we learn not to like them! they dont like us,so we dont like them too! thats all!

  • @88SANMIGGY Whoah, that's a long time for two groups of people to have bad blood. The ironic thing is that if the children of a Tagalog and a Cebuano were born and grew up in the States, those decades of animosity disappears, and they could be best of friends. I guess it's the fact that the majority of the FilAms can only speak English as their native language, so there is no barrier in communication.

  • somebody ask me do you teach your kids to speak tagalog, i answer back at them i rather teach our own language CEBUANO.

  • @lapuDman2 That is perfectly fine to teach your kids whatever language you want. I'm not sure if your answer to others is with disdain towards Tagalog, but if it is, why answer like that if somebody is simply asking a question?

  • da local government of cebu priotize da BETTER BEST EDUCATION LIKE MORE IN ENGLISH

  • @sunade143 Although im not stereotyping,

but i guess the reason why Cebuanos hate TAGALOG people

is bec. many of them discriminate Cebuano

thinking that they(Cebuano) belong to a low class society

  • The reality is Cebuano's are more fluent speaking in English than Tagalog. The mere fact that majority of Filipinos are Bisaya or Cebuano speaking, it only shows that its about time to change our national language into cebuano.

  • @thewizzard2010. I've heard that there are more native Cebuanos speakers than native Tagalog, but I haven't been able to find data that proves that. Would you be able to provide multiple sources for that? The majority for sure speaks Tagalog if you include it as a second or third language. You might be right for Bisaya as a first language though.

As for people being more fluent in English than Tagalog. I've found that those born into richer families are like that but not poorer families.

  • @thedarkknight17 well most of cebuanos here do speak english all da time

  • @thedarkknight17 poor to rich cebuanos do speak english in cebu...coz da DILG OR LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN CEBU PRIOTIZE DA BEST EDUCATION TO THE CEBUANOS ITS PEOPLE

  • @09092214584 Rich people are fluent in English. I personally find that most poor people are not fluent, but they can speak enough for basic services. They make mistakes with basic conversation, but I can definitely understand. With salaries of 10k to 12k per month for public school teachers, I seriously doubt that the local government prioritizes the best education for its people. They send all their kids to private schools, because they don't believe in their own education system.

  • @thedarkknight17 YOU GOT some of da points bro but now even a poor families encourage there children to speak english coz as now cebu is one center of the eye of BPO in asia and whole philippines...

  • @09092214584 One of the good things that came from American colonization of The Philippines is that everybody speaks English on some sort of level. Imagine if Spain won the war with America, then everybody would be speaking Spanish, and there would be no I.T. Park, and all the college graduates would be working for local business owners who won't pay the current going rates of call centers. That would suck for a lot of people.

  • @thedarkknight17 i think there is no big diffrent either america or spain colonize philippines it brings good and bad things in da philippines...still philippines is once a great nation before at spanish time and american era.

  • @thedarkknight17 i don't like you.

  • @thedarkknight17 i got some good news also bro.. da investor plan to put an NEW SM at SRP cebu this year...this NEW SM IS TWICE BIGGER THAN MALL OF ASIA and also sea view

  • @09092214584 Yes, I heard about the new mall at the SRP. The road is quite clean with a great view of the ocean. I think the challenge there is getting tourists and temporary residents to go there often to support the mall. It's not a very pretty site to go through the old part of Cebu City to get to the SRP, and there are already two nice malls(Ayala and SM) much closer to the hotels and bridges. Either way, it will be nice mall to show off to whoever makes it all the way over there.

  • @thedarkknight17 abosulotly bro...everything here in cebu is doin GOOD especially in SRp

  • @thewizzard2010 , i want the national language to be english

  • @van11695 This is up for debate, but I think English already being an official language is enough. Hong Kong and Singapore claim English as an official language to recognize its importance but do not claim it as a national language. Making it the national language would further reflect the colonial mentality on The Philippines.

  • me ma self dont use the tagalog language kasi na bubolol ako sa kausap kong tagalog na friend ko sa maynila so thats why i better use speak english rather than tagalog,,,

  • cebuanos knows how to speak tagalog but how bout tagalogs? i think its time also to tha tagalogs to learn speak bisaya also jus be fair to all

  • @09092214584 I understand the sentiment, but I think it's too much. A lot of Filipinos cannot understand Bisaya. There are over 100 languages in this country. My grandfather spoke Ilocano, Zambal, Olongo and Tagalog, and he spoke whatever language people knew how to speak. I've seen Koreans here in Cebu who keep on speaking Korean to the waiters here. I want to tell them just speak in English even if it's broken, so the waiters can understand. Just speak the language that person understands.

  • @thedarkknight17 correct cebuanos are very fluent in english and it is proven already

  • @thedarkknight17 i meet encounter some of the koreans before in cebu but they do speak english

  • @09092214584 Yes, Koreans do speak English, but the point I was trying to make was that there are some Koreans who come here and speak to the people in Korean expecting them to understand Korean. Obviously, they don't, so they should speak in English to the people in Cebu. Just speak the language that whoever you are talking to understands (Bisaya, Tagalog, Waray, Ilongo, English or whatever of the 100 plus languages in this country).

  • most of da cebuanos here in cebu prefer to speak english rather than tagalog to there tagalog guest in a hotel

  • wow cebu is a good city..dats y most of the korean who are willing to learn english stayed in cebu because cebu are gettin rid of the accents .i have this friend who keep askin me why we are ashame to speak tagalog despite it our national language..i cant answer those question so anybody knows?

  • @thedarkknight17,i hope all people from luzon have the same mindset as you are! maybe they just need to get out more! peace!

  • I think a lot dont have the money to get out more. But the sad thing is that people in this country who do have the money to go out more would rather go to another country than travel within their own.I've met people here in Cebu who have been to Korea,Hong Kong,Singapore,Japan and China, but have never been to places in Luzon like Subic,Baguio or Vigan. The same goes with people in Luzon who have never been to the Visayas. The PI has a lot of beautiful places to see if the people are willing.

  • lets turn the table around, cebuano is now the national language, so tagalogs should learn how to speak cebuano right?,how do you think they will sound if theyll try to speak cebuano? in our ears they will also sound stupid! nagkataon lang na ang napili nila ang tagalog, inspite that bisaya is the majority in this country.

  • I think Tagalogs are still the majority, and the majority of the country can speak Tagalog rather than Bisaya, but Bisayans as a whole do outnumber Tagalogs (If you add Waray-Warays, Ilongo's, and other non Cebuano speaking Bisayans.) The majority of Filipinos can speak Tagalog, so I think it's important to study it. People who speak Tagalog as a 2nd language are like 75% of the population, so that 75% won't speak it perfectly. I wish Tagalogs would understand this, so some wounds can be healed

  • @88SANMIGGY you are right!!!!

  • your right dude!! walang reason na manglait mga tagalog sa mga tga cebu because of the accent lang try nla mag bisaya they would sound stupid tas mas nkktawa kasi tagalog accent wuld somtimes rise up at the end of a word and drops low

  • the main reason why cebuanos dislike tagalogs? its all about respect! you reap what you sow!!!

  • can i ask? why is that cebuanos dont like tagalog people? even in communication they doesnt want to speak the national language,if its not cebuano its english they used!

  • I'm of Ilocano decent and have wondered this too. Let me say that a lot dont hate Tagalogs. The reasons are different for each person. Here are some things I've heard:

    1. Some think that by speaking to them in Tagalog that Tagalogs think they can't speak English, therefore they speak in English to prove them wrong.

    2. Some are embarrassed about their Tagalog ability, so they speak in English, so they don't get teased.

    3. It's not their native tongue, so why should they be forced to learn it?

  • 4. Calling the national language Tagalog invokes regional divisions, which makes them feel left out. It should be called Filipino instead.

    5. Cebuano was supposed to be the national language, but Tagalog was chosen instead...

    6. There are some Tagalogs who laugh at the way Cebuanos speak Tagalog since their accent is different.

    7. There are some arrogant comments about Cebu made by Tagalogs. They should come to Cebu first before making any judgments about the people and city.

  • My first language is English, second language is Korean and am currently studying Filipino. My parents are Ilocano, but they wouldn't understand anything if I learned Cebuano. Cebuanos wouldn't understand anything if I studied Ilocano, so I'm studying Filipino. My friends here in Cebu understand this, and they've always been helpful with my Tagalog. I think a lot are okay with Tagalog as long as Tagalogs are respectful to Cebu island, the city, the language and the people.

  • Wow, cebu is a big boom, mega city in asia.

Hope LRT and BRT are post thru, that makes cebu more tourist to come both local and foreign

  • Yeah, a good transportation system is needed in all of the cities in The Philippines. It keeps pollution down and allows tourists to easily get to their destination without getting lost, ripped off by taxi drivers or approached by people asking for money. Cebu made a good first step by adding yellow taxis at the airport. Tourists in so many cities around the world take the train or subway to get around. I'd gladly give up my car if public transportation was cleaner and better in Cebu City.

  • Thanks a lot.. I love cebu, hope to visit soon to see the progress of cebu city.. from ireland
