I think a lot of national gifts go on show to the public, the queen is custodian of the gifts to her nation. She's hardly going to put an ipod on display but hey ho probably Mr Obama thought it was her birthday :-(
This guy has a point. It's a gift from country to country not person to person. If Obama had gave her an Ipod on her b-day i wouldn't care, but on visits like these it seems tacky. What if the French had given the U.S. a radio instead of the Statue of Liberty? see my point? So ya, i'd say a statue is more fitting. Yes i exaggerated a bit on a radio but you see what i'm talking about.
I don't like welfare, especially for some richie mascots. But I think it's more about possibly offending the British as well as being a tacky representative of the US. Maybe Apple gave him a nice contribution for the tacky gesture, who knows. Anyway, the British people, at least, love him so probably no harm done. We just look tacky. What a bozo though.
Shouldn't conservatives be opposed to elitists like the Queen? Isn't that why the united states was formed? Why is this fake conservative licking the Queens boots so much?
Yeah. How arrogant of him, when the Queen's thoughtful gift was a photo of herself. Geez, Dr. Outrage, I know you're trying to be funny, but it's hard when the basis of you political thought is sooooo last administration.

Just to note, Japan doesn't actually have a president. It's head of state is Emperor Akhito and it has a Prime Minister as head of government.
