Though I was never part of the community, Roger was part of the inspiration that lead to our channel. I've watched some of his stuff and he was awesome! It's truly a sad loss at such a young age.
We've been meaning to do a say something about him in one of our videos, but things became quite messed up for awhile with our channel. My next vid I am going to make sure I include Roger in it.

no, his sister made a video explaining how he died. She said he had lost 40 pounds and quit smoking two months prior. He admitted to the hospital due to ammonia and meningitis. He got there and got staph infection, which probably killed him.

I lost my father to cancer not too long ago. The important thing is to never forget those you lose and never stop talking about them. If you keep talking about them, you keep their spirits alive.

It became a ritual, checking out what was on the dispatcher's mind. He wasn't afraid to tell it like it was. As everyone, he had flaws, but he never let the small things interfere. I have been trying to send you a poem that helped me with my husbands recent death, but it never is allowed to go through so, I will say this, I just lost my husband to cancer and can empathize with what you are going through. Just know that your son is in everything that surrounds you and always-ALWAYS remember that his spirit is with you at all times. Their are grief counselors there for you and my prayers are with you. PEACE!

I lost my father to cancer not too long ago. The important thing is to never forget those you lose and never stop talking about them. If you keep talking about them, you keep their spirits alive.

I am sorry for your lose. I know that every morning that I awake, I think of my husband and he stays with me through out the day. Roger's father may do the same thing. If you think about all of the good that they did, they will always be around! May God bless and my prayers are with you!

What a sweet video. I really enjoyed watching your son's work. His blunt- monotone and ironic style was refreshing.
It would have been nice for him to see all of these tributes. But the best cmpliment we bloggers give eachother is a "subscribe" or a "comment". He had thousands of those!
I think you make a good point that Roger was able to parlay his new found confidence into a love relationship. Neat!

I didn't always agree with and like what your son had to say and at times, how he said it, but I certainly always respected and admired his humility and sense of humor. He had a level of humility and lack of ego that could only come from being raised with courage. Clearly, he got that from you. I'm sorry for your family's loss. In time may you not be sad that he's gone, but rather be only happy that he was here.

I am very sorry to hear of Roger's passing. He was one of the first people I ever watched here and it truly is a loss to the community. He set a certain standard, I think, in making video's and delivered them in a way no one will ever be able to re-create.

There are 3 people in this room sitting here watching your message. None of us knew Roger ... but we all feel such a sadness. Yes he knows what he meant to everyone. I believe that. He may be ''away'' but never ''unaware'' of the love that is flowing for him.

It is ironic how someone's death becomes an opportunity to express love that goes unexpressed during a lifetime. Though I don't believe in afterlife, such a display of love and affection makes me long for one. It would be so comforting to think that Roger is aware of all of this. This is one of those times I hope I am wrong.

Hello, thanks for doing this message. I used to be a subscriber of Roger's videos. We never spoke or even conversed in email, but I followed his videos. It became a ritual, checking out what was on the dispatcher's mind. He wasn't afraid to tell it like it was. As everyone, he had flaws, but he never let the small things interfere. I admired him for that and feel I've learned a thing or two from him. Sometimes you just gotta stop worrying and start living. Peace be with you and Roger.

I remember one video Roger talked about how working the late nights were beginning to wear on him and wished he could work the day shift. But when he did work days, the one that replaced him screwed things up somehow and he ended up going back to his old shift. . . I always looked forward to his next vid and his parody of Hasslehoff on the floor had me Laugh Out Loud. A Classic YouTube Moment. . . . Where can people find Roger's Obit on the web ? Every newspaper today has them on-line. Thanx !

I used to think they should feature some of these but now I'm thinking they should not. If they featured this on the front page then a bunch of lame trolls and haters would start leaving really rude comments. They way it is now those of us that are following battim's channel for info are true friend and admirers of Roger's and the comments are positive and that is what the family needs to see.
