  • Awesome! I just had an MRI of my shoulder done today, I think I will have to get a copy of it now. I thought the same as you, that it would be a series of .jpg's, It's amazing what can be done and the amount information you can get.

  • I need to get a MRI on my knee I'm scared any advice???

  • This is totally amazing!

I too had a recent MRI of my knee and I wanted to compare it to another knee - I had hoped it to be my other knee (which was normal with no pain) but I was told that would be "medically inappropriate"!

Soooooo I am going to get MY MRI movie and compare it to this one.

This is really an amazing world now. Thank you so much for posting this, it helps me a lot.

What was the medium, a CD or did you download it?

    Many thanks to you.

  • Neat. I've used OsiriX to view DICOM format images from a digital x-ray before... this is all sorts of cool!! Makes me wonder why some medical practices still insist on reading the images on x-ray film on lightboxes.

  • Mmmmm - Steak :P

i got the same CD after i got my MRI , great software !

  • the thing you call the ACL is actually your Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL)

the black triangle on the lateral edge of your knee is, as your doctor said, part of the meniscus. if you see a grey line within that black triangle, that is a meniscus tear.

  • haha...I just went through an MRI on Tuesday, and got the CD today. It was my right knee and I can see pretty much what you see in this video. Cannot really get the hang of the soft though, will have to work on it a little. Either way, the conclusion about the MRI they also included in the envelope I am supposed to take to my doc tomorrow says that I have a medial condyle femur piercing and a partially torn MCL. Dunno how long that is going to take to treat, but I will know tomorrow.

  • What software did you use?

  • This is a great MRI video.

What was wrong with your knee?

    Thanks for sharing.

  • How long did the mri take and what was the diagnosis?

  • did you need to get an iv for this because is you did please tell me becuase im sorta freaking out becuase i have to get an mri and i didn't know some had ivs included so please tell me!!! lol

  • Nope.. All comfy and warm.. I took a nap while they were doing their thing... They had to come wake me up.. ;-)

  • Thank you for posting this!!! Absolutely fascinating! I am having an MRI on my knee later this month, and I'm going to ask for a copy!

  • im going for a mri of my nuts tomorrow morning.

  • This is cool. I wish there was some kind of self help page for looking at MRI images for fun and get some idea. I'd like to find out whats wrong with my knee today after MRI... instead of waiting till Monday to get Dr.'s diagnosis.

  • Tibia and *Fibula* are the bones, rather than "fibia".

  • Sure.. RIght.. Call me dumb, then.. ;-)

  • i am going for a scan on the 15th of this month for my ankle. i am in pain almost all the time and it gets to a stage sometimes when i feel like chopping my ankle off cause it gets that painfull.

  • How's your ankle doing now? I've had 3 surgeries on my ankle and it still aches but not as much as before my 1st surgery.

  • hi.

it still hurts like hell. i had a pain killing injections but no use, i need to go back to hospital next week i think. they say that the next stage is surgery. i wish they would just cut the thing off.lol

  • I totally can relate to wanting to cut your ankle off! I said that so many times. Ankle surgery is hard because if you have a "fusion" you can't put any weight on it for 3 months. I can say that my ankle still hurts ( had fusion in 2007 and screws removed 2008) but it isn't as painful as it was before the fusion. Ankles are complicated obviously. I hate to see you so young having these problems. I hope you find help.

  • thanks. but i am getting a little older now. 29 today.lol

  • When they MRI your knee does your whole body have to be inside the MRI tunnel? I am having one next Sunday on my knees and am claustrophobic.

  • No.. At least not in the machine I was in.. Most MRI machines look like a huge donut on edge, and the part you want scanned is located near the middle of this. I was in no way enclosed and, in fact, had a good nap while the machine was buzzing away making all the magnetic fields required to visualize the inside of my knee.. You'll be fine.

  • yea whe i was in it thats what i had

  • Cool video.

  • Great video. I just had my knee scanned by CDI. Do you think they would have a CD for me? I'm thinking I have spurs and calcium build-up behind my knee cap.

  • Cool. Can't wait to get my MRI done on my knee...im going to ask for a copy as well.

  • Isn't science wonderful, Good show big guy

  • I can't speak for mtrcycllvr, but I had one done 13 months ago at about $1900 if I remember. With insurance, the deductible was only $90 out of pocket

  • no lie ur knee does look like a good steak lmao but hole shyt nice program you got there, and the double monitor setup is sik im getting the for mine in couple of minutes im hook it up to a regular monitoe to a flat to my tv in a column like

  • you also have some fluid around your knee cap

  • i get mri's every two years for a thing on my optic nerve

  • whats wrong with it?

  • whats so bad about them?, they just checking that the lump dosnt change?

  • Lots of folks asking "what software is this, anyway?" Okay, first, I'm an OS X user vs. Windows - with that in mind:

osirix-viewer dot com is what you are looking for..

  • your really good man. Amasing how much studying you do when your in pain huh? im going for my scan next week...yep...right knee injury. In pain....BAAAAdly.

  • i've had over five MRI's and two meniscal surgeries... boy i wish i would have been offered one of these! i thought i was lucky getting films. this is so cool. thanks for sharing -- i'll make sure to ask if there be a next time.

  • you took your "steak" & turned it to "bread" at least it looks like bread to me.

  • Very good images. Do you remember the manufacturer of the MRI scanner?

  • Sorry, not a clue.. It was at Tuality Imaging Center, Hillsboro, OR, USA.

  • Awesome, makes me want to get an MRI again.

  • Thanks, I have the film of my MRI which is pretty much useless ( unless your a Orthopedic surgeon). I'm going back to get the CD!
