Was having trouble /w other apps dropping the last few mins on the VOBs. This doesn't, and am able to queue converts through the night while watching a movie at same time. Converts are from 1.5 to 2.5 hours. DVD Decrypter has replaced SmartRipper for me.On disk that have scratches, it retries reads while without aborting to a prompt unless the default of 20 errors is reached, but can be changed to even ignoring them under the I/O tab under settings.

So I just did everything you did, and my audio is lagging between .5 to .75 seconds behind the video. The only difference is that the movie was the original Cars, and it wasnt the widescreen version. Any ideas? It sucks my computer just sat here for 3 hours processing it just to have it end up not right. :(

@jfolck1886 Check the vob. I found that to be the case on a few, but when I looked at the vob in Mediaplayer Classic, I found that it was the fault of the vob. That can be fixed by stripping the audio and using virtual dub to put it back where it belongs.

Also, it's a good idea to select "original" for audio output type instead of .mp3. It seems to be the only way to keep Auto Gordian Knot from normalizing the audio, resulting in some horrible distortion. You'll get better results with the original audio mode and can always post a download link to Directshow's AC3 filter when you upload the file. If someone's too lazy to install it after all the time you've taken, that's their problem. Thanks again!

I started everything over but this time when i launched AutoGK i right clicked and chose "run as administrator" and it worked like it was supposed to!

I followed the instructions above, and it worked fine, but I am not happy with the end result. The video quality is quite bad and even in full screen mode it leaves two black stripes on both sides. I think 720x640 is too low resolution. How can I change that setting and adjust it to a higher output resolution. Can anyone help me, please?

Quality is very bad, even though it should be good.

However, the direct file plays just fine at 5.08 gb.. so for any others who are experiencing this same problem, get DivX+ player

I figure that after you calculate the 'starting frame', uncheck the encode credits with diff settings and take the 9 min back out. However, I'm still getting a slow beginning for about 15secs then the movie flies like it should. Thanks again for posting this, maybe I'll get as great as aXXo yet!

I got the same thing and it powers down my computer, but unchecking the encode credits with diff settings still gave me the error code, but went on to process the files. Good luck!!! I'm still having an issue with the slow stutter start at the beginning, but the rest of the movie came out great. I did a 1 and a 2 CD of the same, both have great audio/video!!!

I'm running Windows 7 x64bit and this procedure works besides the ctrl-f9 options which I get an error. I leave that step out and the end result is an AVI file that I can stream via PS3 media server wirelessly via my PS3. Thanks!

from the way I see it, autogk doesnt automatically detect what resolution it will have to be to fit in that file size, so it creates lots of different samples to try and see if it will fit well, and be the specified file size, and i believe thats why videos created with autogk are such good quality

Shows: DVDdecrypter -> 1.File Mode 2.select main movie files + ISO's in the edit tab 3.set file settings to split by VOB ID 4. set save location 5. decrypt AutoGK -> 1. set input file (one big file per episode) 2. set .avi output for episode 3. set size 4. click "add job". Adding it to the list of tasks 5. do this for each episode. You want AutoGK to convert them one at a time You have converted a tv show disk to avi, the files are already split into separate episodes. ENJOY!!!

100% Quality: Awesome but it took up over 4 gb

700mb Size: sucked

1500mb Size: Good enough for me. 1500mb is reasonable for a big movie.

Worked perfectly. I ripped Avatar (2 hours, 40 minutes) to my computer because i like playing my movies on the xbox 360 without a disk.

100% Quality: Amazing, but it took 4.6 gb. Way to much!

750mb Quality: Looks like shit

1500mb Quality: Very nice. Perfect size for a big movie with good video quality.

I have a problem with one movie. It rips okay but the trailer gets added onto the front of the avi file. I selected 'Main movie files' and it selects 1 ifo file and 6 vob labelled 1 to 6, the first 5 1GB and the last one 0.5GB. If I revove no. 1 the movie just starts about 18 mins in. If a play the DVD itself it doesn't show the trailer at the beginning, it's just there as a DVD extra. Any idea of how to remove this trailer?

hey. everytime I try to convert using 1400MB 2cds size. It always make a One Full Size Movie. Lets say, I must Have a two file: the cd1 and cd2 which each sizes must 700MB each. But why its always provide third file which is the full movie file,. its like combination of the cd1 and cd2. which sizing is 1400MB. Any help? I don't want to waste time converting, Because i think it takes time because of that full size movie.
