That was certainly a surprise, make me wonder how the mazinsaga game ties into this.

You can find opening and ending of the game somewhere here - it seems that the game is not connected to manga version in any way. For example, all the game happens on Earth and Mazinger actually saves it - but you know what happened in manga. According to the ending, there could be a sequel, but seems it was never released.

Oh man, Mazinsaga's so ridiculous and messed up and I love it. The designs are all really whacked out, in a good way. Also, is that supposed to be Aphrodite or Venus?

Aphrodite. Check the last page in the sequence, and you will find an "A" in the speech balloon. upd: it seems that the last page may not be seen if Opera is used.
