Just put the water damaged phone in a bag of rice. The rice will absorb all the moisture and revive the iPhone. I've done it COUNTLESS times to the same exact phone and it worked every time.
I have done it and seen it done! Works.. guaranteed! If you are trying it and not getting good results, be sure to apply it correctly! Worth every penny, anyone with a phone that suffers from water damage, order this now!
@Mzero3 seriously?? ahh! i hope it works for my phone too! ): it turns on and everything but the touch feature on the screen doesnt seem to work! even tried replacing the screen ):
@UnitediPhoneRepair so its been a while since my phone dropped in the water. would it still work?? im in desperate need of my phone back! just ordered the spray and i really hope it will help ):
When I take off the back of my phone it has this little tab that's sticking out from under the battery, it says "Authorized Service Provider Only" - I think it's holding the battery in place and I don't want push it too much 'cause I don't wanna muck up the phone. I think I'll just give this method a miss - I was told at a phone repair shop that I could have the motherboard replaced for about 300$, will this solve my problem completely if I have that done?
@LalaOfFDP i didnt have to spray it :) all i did opened and pulled apart and dried all up under open sun :) as brand new now :) Good luck with yours tho!
I've heard that putting your phone in rice, soaks up the water and your phone will work again. I haven't done it myself, but I know others that have and they said it actually worked.
@Michelle0032 yeah but corrosion will kill it in the end once corrosion is like a cancer for the phone....but i think this irevive kit might actually help that im not sure
Ok so I have an iphone 4 that was accidentally takin into the ocean about 6 months ago. and has been sitting in my room. What do you think my chances of it coming back to life would be if i used this? im worried b.c it has been so long. do you think its ruined? and do you think this could fix it? Thank you
OMG.. THANKS SO MUCH,, I had water damage for 6 months and a contract for 3 years,, it was only 4 months old when i had the damage....i used methyl hydrate to clean it,, thanks so much!!
Also you never want to reassemble your phone even in the same day after performing water damage repair, let it dry out 2-3 days, 30-45 minutes is far too early to do so as some liquid may be left over and cause more problems later
I have an iPhone 4, his blacklight is dead. What I have to do? If I try to clean the mobo like in this video it's possibile to resolve? Please replay me. And sorry for my (probably) bad english
I put my iPhone 4 inside a bag of rice as soon as it came out of the water. Left it for 4 days and it seems to be working perfectly even battery is normal. Try that if ur iPhone goes in to water. Also works with iPods ;)
question, wat if the phone turns on but theres not light on the background screen?can i just replace the screen or this method would fix that problem also?
damn dude, wish I had you technical savvy to save my water logged phone...unfortunately I will have to brave the crowds at the Apple store and upgrade to the new one...great video for those that can follow along and have the necessary tools...
my iphone4 fell in a glass of water and the camera flash stuck on and the camera is getting really hot. I have read that I need to place the camera in a rice bag. How long should I keep it there? Have you seen situations when the flash got stuck on? Is there a hope of fixing it?
spilled some water over my iphone it wont turn on. its been laying on my desk since, its about 1 month ago. will this spray do anything now since its so long ago?
@rohitaustinmini it will depend on the degree of corrosion eg. 'the little wires' that connect the components to the main board have corroded through, nearly or not. If nearly or not you may be in luck. If you can see the corrosion is thick and furry then you are wasting your time. If corrosion looks patchy, flat/thin and a pale color not dark blue or dark green, than too you may be in luck.
Corrosion is like cancer, you have to remove it or it will keep growing and eventually kill your device.
@collectionforsale Thanks a lot i hav some of this stuff on order and the corrosion doesnt seem too bad, everything works on the phone apart from the LCD but hopefully this will sort the problem, thanks
@IzaacPhire it's possible depending on how bad the corrosion is and if it's actually eaten away the solder connections or flex cable ends. Take it apart to see how bad the corrosion really is.
One thing you may want to add to this video ... Scrub the flex connectors as well if you had the corrosion like what i saw on that board it will cause problems if you don't.
An excellent guide, easy to follow. Upon removing the plates protecting the chips I discovered corrosion bridging a capacitor & adjacent component at the bottom of the motherboard. I cleaned this corrosion away & cleaned the rest of the motherboard. The phone now turns on whilst connected to a charger but instantly dies when the cable is disconnected. The battery itself is fine as I tried it in a different phone. It's as if power cannot get from the battery to the mobo. Any thoughts on this?
Thank you for sharing! Will this work even if the phone has already shorted? I dropped mine for half a second, and though I was off scott free when it continued to work...until the next day when I tried to charge it and it doesn't recognize the usb (tried multiples)...which I'm thinking is because I didn't turn it off immediately after?
@MangoMaggerz You should get some iRevive to clean the board before it corrodes! One way we have fixed that flash problem before (seen it 3 times) was to go to the camera app, turn the flash to ON and then take a couple pics. It seemed like doing this reset the circuit and then fixed the problem.
Thank you soooo much for making this video available to me. I just fixed my mother-in-law's iPhone 4 that had been in the bathtub. It's working now! After it charges I'll take it for a test run.
I tested to remove the logic board and just brush on it WITHOUT the irevive and then put it all back and then it worked! The iphone had been in the washing machine and then i just put it in the iphone box for some weeks, because i thought that i couldnt fix it, until i saw this guide and test to just brush on the logic board and i never thought it would work but it did!

@Deadhorse21 The liquid spray displaces the water and helps it evaporate faster.
