If you are interested to buy a muscle car, now is the time to do it.. You can pick up a good Challenger in the $25,000-$35,000 dollar range. But my "good" and your "good" might be different. The muscle cars have really taken a hit in this recession, but their prices are starting to come back so now is the time to buy before they get to high. If you restore one, you will pay quite a bit more than one that is already restored. I just had this on appraised for insurance purposes and it appraised f
i had a plum crazy `70 R/T.,back in the late `70`s. Gas went up to 66 cents a gallon, and that was too expensive for me, so i put it up for sale. Nobody wanted it,,had to eventually let it go for 800 bucks..
@MattyClown: The Challenger is sold by Dodge today, it is a modern car with all the comforts that go with it. It was reintroduced in 2008 and has the body lines of the original (70-74) Challenger. If you search here on You Tube you will find both the original and newer Challenger.
@superlinkarts: I believe the AC is correct for this car, the car has just over 36,000 original miles. So I would say yes, but I don't know what other owners have done to the AC. Now with saying that, I completely rebuilt the compressor and the air box under the dash. All the lines are what came with the car. I installed a new condenser and a new receiver drier. I still have all of the old parts that I replaced while restoring the car. Thanks for your comment,
My uncle and his friend had matching 1970 Dodge Challenger rts. Everything Black, 340 4 Barrel. Both where unfortunately sold, but both are still around. You have a sweet car. Mopar or No Car. Quick question. So do you have the exact AC that came from the factory?
@1372cc: Yes this car has drum brakes. Power brakes, 11x3" heavy duty ( for their day ) they were standard for a 440 car, you could get disk brakes as an option. It just depends what was checked on the order form. My Charger has 11x3" no power assist. My Coronet has disks on front and 11x3" drums on back, no power assist. It's just the way they came, so that's the way I left them.
@BumbleBeeGS. It cost a lot to get the car in this condition. Every single part, nut, bolt, screw etc. was restored or replaced. You could buy one already done which would be a lot less than restoring one. For me, I enjoy bringing the car back to life as much or more than driving it after it's done. It costs about the same as a new SUV.
@themoparman94: Thanks for the comment. I have to agree with you on the color combination. When I bought the car the only way to tell the original color was to look at the fender tag.I tried to keep it looking as original as possible, I did change the hood blockout to white because i have always thought that the black hood blockout with the white bumblebee stripe looks odd.
Awesome Challenger R/T! I just bought a 2010 Challenger R/T about 3 months ago and I love it!!! I have a vid here on youtube of the back with the sound of the exhaust. It is factory, but it still sounds pretty good. Mine is white with the black R/T stripes just on the front fender.
dude, you own my OTHER dream car. i have a 2010 plum crazy Challenger R/T with white stripes....it would look awesome parked next to this! well done, my friend!!!
