Frame 27/3:14 does represent the correct stick movements......the bird goes from inverted to a fan type movement ...from inverted he gives up stick movement or positive, (when taking off from the ground).....this movement should of drove the chopper into the ground....soooooo is this made up?
@RotorHead2652 I disagree. While the pinching method is more precise, it is slower than the thumbs method.
Most good pilots will use both methods depending on the model they are flying and the maneuvers they are attempting however, it should be noted one of the world's best rc heli pilots flies with his thumbs only. I forget his name.
the gyro is only for the tail i f you have the stick at middle the degrez are 0 if your stick is full up 10 degres full down 10 degrea and throtle is open all time
@Rakesh4502 No you need to change the pitch of the heli blades using while using the idel up switch. When you fip idel up pushing the trottle up or down changes the pitch of the blades up=+ down=- So when you fly you have to flip it backwards while pushing down so the helicopter will hover upside down. THIS TAKES MUCH PRACTICE.
I just read that you don't want to pay for the RealFlight. After a 6 months from buying it, I'm still happy I did and still think it was a great investment. I love that reset button.
i'd pay for it if it was 50 or 80 bucks or something. 200 get the hell out of here. i'm beginning to get the feeling that R/C is for people who have no problem pissing away their money entirely disproportionate to the fun factor.
If $200 bothers you, don't even bother thinking about the hobby, but the rewards, adreline rush's, advances in skills are all more than worth it. But some people just don't have the skill sets, so dont' kill anyone out there
i don't have ANY videos, not just no flying videos.
am I required to have flying videos to talk about RC?
I've spent a couple thousand on R/C of all types, very conservatively speaking. I find the most bang-for-buck is from the cheap yet ingeniously made RTF/RTR stuff. having several different models of various types instead of just one/couple with more money spent.
K relax, BREATHE, you just sounded like a noob who didn't want to spend the cash on a sim, and I figured you would crash whatever and cost that much anyways. If you can fly without using a sim, more power to ya. When you fly $1000 helis and planes and want to try shit new, try it on the sim first. Anyways, just didn't want to discourage noobs from using a sim, unless you're talented like you and don't need one
?? I'm not freaking out here I'm just disagreeing with you. You seem to assume quite a bit. I'm totally all for sims. Nowhere did I insinuate I'm talented. I'm saying hundreds of dollars for a sim is stupid. Yes I know the costs of crashes far outweigh it. But that's the marketing strategy they're using and it's obviously working on most people. It also doesn't work on a lot of other people. Then those companies wonder why they have to use ridiculous copy protection measures.
@Thrashaero I agree with you on most things however just because the sim companies use that as their marketing strategy doesn't mean it's not good economics to get one. At the end of the day it is actually true that the cost of crashes outweighs the cost of sims, therefore when you say "it's obviously working on most people", you mean common sense right?
is there any tutorials to slowly learn instead of extrapolating guesswork from stick positions?
like how exactly to keep tictocs from sliding all over the place, how to do those vertical circles and otherwise orientation on the flipping/pirouetting. i mean i try to copy what you do on the sticks and it's just not happening.
Im not sure whice sim this is but try getting real flight g3 or g4 sim it has lessons on all the 3D stuff and basic to advanced moves. Plus it looks like this guy was flying with the easy physics setting thats why he can hover inverted, spin and tictoc so neatly.
well i've got rfg4, all i need is a radio and the right heli model loaded into the darn thing (the default models really suck in my opinion). right now i'm using a joystick. no way i'm paying $200 for a damn program. and i do have a radio, an airtronics rd80000 but it's broken. :(
I use the esky one try getting one of those off ebay, they go for like a tenner and get the usb for it mine came with my lama trust me using a radio is 10 times better. Search knife edge swap pages on google and you can download custom models that are more realistic like the trex.
thanks for the info, i didn't think about getting a cheapy tx. what do you mean a tenner? 10 bucks? that's crazy. does it have all the required heli switches? i already have a cable for my rd8000..hopefully there's a cheap one with airtronics jack. anyway yeah the joystick is unacceptable, as i have to hold down certain buttons for the toggle switches (idle up and dual rate) and my hand is worn out.
i know there's places to get models to load, but never really had an idea as i just got rfg4.
ok maybe costs a bit more brand new well in dollars maybe $30-60 depending on which type you get there are two types of esky tx's ones 4ch 0404 and ones 6ch for the ccpm's 0406 which comes with throttle hold and 3D switch I have the 4ch one I just use the keyboard for throttle hold, dual rate and 3D mode switches.
well last night i pulled out the old radio and tried to do some repairs. i have a futaba t6xa and took some parts off of it to give to my rd8000 (screws to hold trainer jack into place, antenna, 3 pole switch for idle up).
now all i'm missing is the screws that hold the back half on and the battery cover. my battery (a nimh) doesn't seem to want to charge and my stock battery, nicad doesn't have the connector. that seems to be the only thing holding me back..then it's dinking with the adapter
yeah i know, but it could be a lot better. the voiceovers are really bad..simplistic. they don't explain hardly anything. Pete Niotis in particular...he just says 'yeah, ya wanna get good at flying around..and yeah..practice some manuevers..and uh...that's it'...while he's doing piro flips or something crazy. of course i'm exagerrating but that's pretty much how it is. i'd rather read some notes that go along with it and just watch the sticks in slo-mo physics. since the voice gets crackly.

i can do that on the sim and in real life also so what is the problem if he is using the sim to show he can do it for sure in real life....BTW the guy in this video is using mode 2(left hand throttle) and not mode 1
hi everyone I am getting a reflex cd from my friend, can i run it on my own tx and cable? coz i heard ppl said reflex needs to run on its on usb dongle. I appreciate your reply.
Nice inverted funnels man. This is just how a 3D flight video should be made; 2 separate screens for the view of the heli and the transmitter. I can't believe how stupid some people are to not know that this is an RC simulator.
remember he stated at the beginning of the video clip that the transmitter was MODE 1. Here in the US we use Mode 2, where T/r ,throttle and collective is on the left stick and cyclic on the right stick. Mode 1 transmitters are found in overseas mainly.
lol yeah cause u can hover upside down lol. just switch to pitch to force air off blade (ie.lift) to point upwards while heli is upside down. simple as that!

Im sorry if this is a noob question, but How do you make the blades push downwards when the heli is upside down? Does the gyro take care of that?

The way that the helicopter genarate lift when it is inverted is by changing the pitch of the blades.

As clearly stated this is mode 1 and was very normal before mode 2 became the prefered method.
