  • Supposed to play some Queens!

  • @GigaCake you are more likely to continue to play if you have a good guitar...it's not Easier, you can pick up a cheap guitar or a top of the line Gibson or epiphone but you still gotta learn.

  • @lastofmykind8 I think it is easier if you're talking about a decent neck and action, some cheap guitars out there are heinous. But you're totally right about a good guitar making you want to play and of course, still having to put in the time and learn.

  • @ThreePieceDenimSuit i know a brand that sells really good les paul copies for less than two hundred bucks...good action and neck. and the sound will amaze you and make you want to play guitar forever haha.

  • Love your playin' man ;)

  • I use my SA503 for every Gig We play - its incredibly adaptable, learn how to use it & I think it definitely ranks with my Es-175 or even my SG3.

  • What is the neck like on this guitar? Thin of fat or in the middle?

    Thanks!

  • Roadrunner..?

  • I WANT A VOX AC50 :o

  • thats i have one and i know it so soft and cool i like ur video bro thats a fav

  • I WANT THAT GUITAR, sounds awesome, congrats, man :)

  • Great Demo,

can you please tell me what scale you were using from

    0:26-0:36

thanks - ure playing is awesome

  • this is my dream guitar wtf i'm blown away!

  • that thing is beast !

  • nice guitar!

  • Hİ imasneniraas, its been 2 years since the demo. Do you still own this guitar? Any ups downs? I'm planning to by one - still not sure about it.. Thanks for the Squier classic vibe tele demo by the way. It is in my shoping list now.

  • Yes, I've still got it and it's still a player. I changed the neck and bridge pickups for GFS P90s and it sounds clearer and twangier now. Looking at it on the wall as I write this :-)

  • hey imasneniraas, I've been looking for one of this for a while now in red and have been having a really hard time, if you ever think of selling it would you keep me in mind? thanks!

  • @imasneniraas Keep enjoying it, cause they literally discontinued it over night.

  • dude.... you kick ass!

  • Hi, how do you do the harmonics things with the bigsby right at the beginning?? It sounds awesome, how do you do it?

  • Hi, that's just feedback. Try putting an overdrive on with a loud amp and that's what you get :-) Move around and hear how the feedback changes...

  • awesome playing man wish i could play lead as half as good as you, gotta love the tvl too

    Jordan

    Heavy on the Ride

  • what are the pickups

  • 3xP90 pcikups

  • hi..thanks for the reply..got one more question, how about the tube on big ben? how long can they last if you are playing it everyday? thanks again..peace

  • The tube uses low voltage and lasts forever. I changed mine for a better brand and there was no change in sound.

  • do you think that the big ben od will sound good with a fender jaguar and going through a fender blues deluxe..thanks..i like your tone...

  • That Big Ben sounds great with every guitar & amp!

  • Wow, man, that things sounds really good. I'm tossing around the idea of getting one sometime, but the only thing that concerns me is the buzz from the p90s and the bigsby's intonation issues. How bad is the buzz, and do you have trouble keeping the bigsby in tune? I saw you cranking on it, and it seemed to stay pretty solid. I'd appreciate your help.

  • Hi, no buzzing from stock P90's, in fact they are hum cancelling when in series! All pickups buzz a little if you play your amp cranked up and use a distortion pedal. No tuning problems with the Bigsby. Just put the strings on correctly and stretch them well!

  • im going to buy it next week!!

  • i´m planning on buying this guitar but hear some minor problems about it, what you opinion?

its either this or the porl thompson corsair schecter. help? please!

  • Just bought one Saturday, gigged it same night, fucking love it! Cheers for makin the vid, helped me make the decision, excellent playing as well :-D

  • Sorry to keep posting on here, but this guitar is just truly awesome. I've had mine for a month now and playing it just gets better and better... and better.

  • Do you remember what settings you used on both amp and pedal in this video? Sounds great and i'm heavily considering both guitar and amp.

  • Do you have the switch on the back of the AC30 on "Vintage" or "Modern"?

  • I've set the switch to modern for more clean headroom.

  • i've read that there are some tubing issues with the tvl, have you found that? tasty jam btw

  • No tubing or tuning issues as long as you put the strings on correctly and "punish" them hard before playing.

  • how was it out of the box. A lot of reviews I've read say that the frets usually need a little working over and a good trus rod adjustment before it starts tickling them in the fun places...

  • I think I was lucky... either that or, with my playing, it doesn't really matter! :-)

  • Almost evey guitar needs that out of the box. No issues with sharp fret ends here!

  • Fantastic playing!

I tried this in my local shop and just had to get it. I bought it 5pm yesterday and was gigging it at a wedding at8pm... I just HAD to take it with me last night. Great response from the rest of the band.

I put non-bass instruments (guitars, mandolin etc) through a small mixer into both a Marshall head/4x10 cabinet and a 1964 copper paneled Vox ac30 and blend the two amps depending on the venue.

  • I'm gonna kill you

    and steal yur guitar

    nothing personal

    rock on

  • How heavy is the Yamaha SA503 TVL?

I'm thinking about getting this one instead of the Gretsh guitar I'm looking at.

  • its quite light. I'm comparing it to my tele and les paul which are relatively heavy.

  • damn... amazing playing. i can only hope i can improv this well someday :/

  • Good job. I want to know on what channel you put the big ben (normal or top boost).

  • really sweet playing and guitar! could you tell me the difference between this yamaha and the other semi-hollow body guitars, please(ex. epiphone sheraton or dot)?

im in love with these kind of guitars and im still hesitating.:) my alternaive choice is a Hagstrom Viking.

  • Thanks for diggin'! This is buildwise just as all the other semiacoustics out there. The three P90 pickups with multiple switching options and the Bigsby make this guitar very special! Forget that Viking ;-)

  • maybe a weird question, but how tall are you?

  • A really weird question and none of your business.

  • no see, I'm interested in buying one of these guitars. But I'm worried it may look too big on me, as I'm quite short myself. I hope that explains it

  • don't care about the looks

  • sounds so cool!

im thinking in getting this guitar, it looks very versatile...

and seems that the bigbsby works and the guitar can stay in tune...

any problems with this guitar or so?

    excuse my bad english.

thanx for answering and for the video!

  • Hi and thanx! No problems with the axe so far, the Bigsby stays in tune, allthough it's a licenced one.

  • sounds great man!

i play my les paul through that same amp. sounds incredible cranked up.

i have a set of lollar imperial humbuckers making their way to me so i can't wait to see how they sound :)

thinking about getting a tubescreamer too (ts-808). have you used one on this amp and if so what did you think??

  • Hi and thanks! I've got a Digitech Bad Monkey which is basically a hotrodded Tubescreamer. It sounds really great with AC30. But my VOX Big Ben Overdrive kills the Bad Monkey!

  • great playing man, what speakers are there in your ac30cc2x???

  • Alnico blue speakers. More expensive but worth it :-)

  • does the ac30 have a footswitch for distortion or only for the tremolo??

  • Footswitch is for tremolo and reverb.

  • it's possible to use the 3 pickups together? or 1 at time (1° step of toggle)or 2 (2° step)?

    sorry for bad english

  • Tutti combinaziones possibile!

You can use all the combinations.

  • anyone whos intrested i have this exact guitar in perfect condition still with the bigsby and the p90's....

i'm about to sell it on ebay, so send me an email on here and i'll give you a link to the item page, oh, and musegroove12.. i play it through an ac15 aswell, sounds incredible believe me!

  • really great playin' i really like your guitar. i own an aes1500. such a dream guitar. check it out.

  • The TVL sounds like it has more "mahogany meat" as compared to a the standard maple gibby 335 guit.

  • The TVL is all maple. That meat comes from the VOX AC30 / VOX Big Ben booster combo. And from my fingers :-)

  • The neck has to be mahogany at the very least!!

  • I checked the specs and the neck is also maple.

Could also be mahogany, cause the grain looks like it under that red finish...

  • make me a video of you playing some queens of the stone age on that baby to fully sell me on that sexy guitar please

  • yeah but replacing all the stuff to china means they disavow the amps past, that's exactly the same thing as if Ferrari replaced their plant to Taiwan or something. how crazy would that be? I don't say the quality is lower. but you pay the same money as before! also, now it's impossible to choose between the celestion blue and bulldog speakers. but okay. sound is rad, pretty nice playing too.. oh and are these p-90 pickups?

  • First off great playing, I love the sound. My amp of choice is a vox ac15 and i'm planning on getting this guitar, but I have a question. First how are the pickups? They sound great but would it be a bad choice to upgrade to gibson original p90 pickups?

  • I'd buy a vox ac30 if it wasn't made in china... but hey what gauge strings are you using??

  • So what if it's made in China. It's still designed in England. And it's built in a VOX-factory in China, not some unknown 3rd party factory.

  • Oh and I use 10-52 strings.

  • Turn down the gain!

  • I did it at the end...

  • Just a fantastic sound!! Great!

THis video makes me totaly hot for the TVL ... I need some money, dudes ;) !!

  • Heehee, you'll need much more money for a VOX AC30 too, dude!

  • I know that, but there are also other good amps in this world ;) ...

    I have a Laboga Studio Reverb, a really nice tube-amp also with EL84s ...

  • Hey, are you Freewheeler on TDPRI?

If so, those are the stock P-90's or the new GFS's? How much difference they are?

    Nice playing ;)

  • Yep, that's me! Those are the stock Yamaha pups. The GFS P-90's are great, more highs and lower output for that vintage tone.

  • Dude, not bad! Not bad at all! I just ordered one of these, hopefully I'll like it as much in person as I do when you play it. Thanks for the vid!

  • Waiting for mine to come in the post..can't wait.Orderd one in black..looks super bad!

How heavy is it compared to a Les Paul?

Nice playing by the way :)

  • beau jeu mon salaud...

  • Great demo, what is the neck feel like? Chunky, thin?

  • It's really a medium sized round u-profiled neck. Much like old Gibsons. Not too thin or thick for me.

  • great demo!

    sounds good

I'm planning on getting the SA503, probably change the pickups for some Bare Knuckles though

  • i am getting the tvl for christmas and i was looking at a few other guitars, is it worth getting the sa503? i really like the guitar and i like troy van leeuwens work with qotsa. so out of 5 what would you rate it?

  • I'd rate it 4 out of five. It is not made in Japan but in Indonesia. The finish is not flawless and there's some finish cracking at the neck joint (due to climate season changes here in Finland). But for tone and playability I rate it five stars!

  • so compared to other guitars(in similar price range) is there any better ones

  • I don't think so. If you're looking for a semi acoustic with 3 P90's and a Bigsby this is your guitar!

  • how long have you been playing?

  • Thirty years.... I'm a geezer!

  • nice clean playing. .

  • Tasty.

Does it have bad treble loss when you roll off the volume?

  • No, the treble is still there when you turn down the vol pot. Must be good quality stuff inside!

  • Is the guitar very heavy, I read a review in guitarist that said it was ridiculously heavy.

  • It's about 4 kilos, not too heavy at all. There were two other heavier ones in the store and I bought the lightest one. This one also had the best neck of the three!

  • Allright, that's a very nice guitar!! I've always wanted to try/buy one of those, but I can't find a store around here who has one in stock...

Now I feel so shitty, seeing this video...

  • hey cool playing but i have a question

i save money for vox big ben and i have hiwatt maxwatt g100 112r

and i dont know if it give me back same voice or effect or how can i say it u know....

  • Thanks, Big ben has a very "Voxy" sound on its own, so I believe it will sound great through Hiwatt!

  • Hello, Great Sound. Last year i had a Vox AC30 CC2, the CC2X have a much better sound?

I ask that because in my country it must spend more 600€ to have CC2X.

In what chanel are you playing in this video?

    Thanks

  • Hello, I think the blue alnico speakers are worth the extra money. They deliver THE Vox sound as I understand it. I always play the normal channel. Thanks for asking!

  • quite a collection u got there on the wall

  • That's a 1969 Tele and a 50's Classic Tele. I'm a Telecaster man, have 6 of them. I like the Yamaha, it's my only semiacoustic. Gotta love those P-90s! I replaced the bridge and neck pickups with GFS Vintage P-90s and that axe sounds even better now!

  • fantastic, yeh ive got an Epiphone Wildkat, and it has 2 crome dog ear P-90s, sounds great!

  • nice tone!

  • Indeed. Killer tone and chops! Another Youtube video that makes me feel like I suck. ;)

  • This guy has good rhythm. He's swinging those notes instead of playing straight 16ths, like most guys "shredding" on youtube do. It's the rhythm of the notes which makes it sound cool. Of course, having good tone also helps.
