This song reminds me of Fast Times At Ridgemont High yo. And no, I am not a "teenager" living in 2011 that "likes this music even though I wasn't born yet."
Yeah I was born in 95. But I totally wish I was a teen in the 80s. Life just isn't the same. High Schools not the same. It would have been sooo fun! My fav movies are Fast Times, Breakfast Club, and Sixteen Candles. They totally rock!
@oceancitymissy Not to be a cock or anything... but movies aren't really a good indication of the times during an era, especially teeny bopper movies (no matter how good they are).
@oceancitymissy yes! omg you took the words right out of my mouth i feel the exact same way! i was born in 93 and i'm like wtf i was born in the wrong era lol
@oceancitymissy Same here!I wish I was born in the 80's.I love The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles.Haven't gotten a chance to watch Fast Times yet.But I will!80'S FTW!
kids today? God bless 'em, really, but c'mon, with their hip-hoppery.
WE had modified punk (when it wasnt totally computerized tracks!), and fashion sense improved from the 1970s and superstandard to today's. we were so rockin - making big ass hand-held chains across the continent, super big concerts without any gunshots or mayhem, embracing the legacies of ages past...
@jas22 ur a fuckin douchebag man u didnt do shit u prolly just bought a album at a dollar store and branded ur self a big supporter and hip hoppery? what the fuck is that shit ? yea its violent but thats just what some people want to hear just because ur stuck in the 80's doesnt mean u can talk shit on people for liking a certain kind of music
@MrProfessornutbutter I seen this band live in 1983 at the WVU coliseum, they were great, everyone down front danced the whole time, I was toward the back though. Flock of Seagulls was the opening act.
@MrProfessornutbutter Thanx, it was a great night. That was about the only concert I ever went to see. Many kids in high school went to see Kiss, Aerosmith, and Boston. I wish I would have now. Gallagher came to WVU one night, it was free but I was too lazy to walk about half a mile up the hill :(
@MrProfessornutbutter I remember in high school a boy went to see Kiss, he said he sat in front of the P.A. and couldn't hear for about 2 days. Another boy got a big KISS belt buckle, his dad looked at it and said "Kiss what"? This would have been about 1978. I could have went to all those shows, I didn't too much pot I guess.
@clintonearlwalker NEVER touched pot. 2 shows I was supposed to be at. Nirvana unplugged in NYC and Stevie Ray Vaughn, but he died in that plane crash the year I wanted to see him.
@MrProfessornutbutter I wish I could say I never touched pot, as a matter of fact, I'm lucky I'm alive. Some of the bands from back in those days are still staggering along. Aerosmith, Kiss, Foreigner, The Stones, The Who. My favorite band was prolly Queen. I had a relative that seen them twice, she said it was unbelievable. I never seen them live, I have nearly every type of their recordings though, vinyl, 8-track, cassette, sheet music, cd, vhs, mp3 etc.
@MrProfessornutbutter I don''t think I know anyone that saw Pink Floyd, I remember when The Wall came out, it was a great British album. I got a message out of the blue about 2 months ago from a guy named kenelis. Apparently he is a member in a British band called Kenelis. He told me to check out their music and to tell others, so I'm telling u. Their music is pretty heavy, IMO, if they could write a good song to a good tune, they could be very popular. Anyway, Cheers!!
@clintonearlwalker since you shared that band with me, allow me to share one with you. they are called Evil Beaver. I know of the singer/bassist. she's madchill. hope you enjoy it.
@MrProfessornutbutter I just checked out Evil Beaver, that girl can burn that bass, her looks kinda remind me of Madonna. Tunes of that genre I like are "Brackish" by Kittie, and "Destroyer" by Static X. A band I found strictly on YouTube is Gravytrain, they have a couple of vids here, Club Situation, and Hella Nervous. They also have a song I like called Titties Bounce, but there is no good vid of it :( I think they are gay, but their music is fun, they remind me of the B-52's. Cheers!!
This song is fucking amazing, awesome, unmimicable, unique, gorgeous, extraterrestrial, f...... My blood just excited me and blow up my feet. I love go go's and my pretty Belinda. I miss 80's. She....
One day back in about 1981?82? I was home from school sick and saw the Go Go's on a daytime talk show. I was blown away. At the time, there was NOTHING like them on mainstream radio. I called my grandpa, who worked at a music warehouse, and asked him to get me the album (yes, vinyl!). He did and I was the first one in my group of friends to have it. They loved the Go Go's right away, just like I did.
I love this song and Our Lips are Sealed, but my fave was This Town.
A few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand
