No offense, but I have no idea how you can even think being "indie" is something to be proud of. The now watered-down scene is full of rich kids and pretentious wannabes these days that imitate the same bands that were ACTUALLY considered indie before it became about fashion & all the lead singers sounding the same. Indie is about as impressive as the emo subculture. Both of which went to hell about 10 years ago.

Vivian Girls , Best Coast ,The Raveonettes , Dum Dum Girls ... and all those bands knows each other personally ...so there's a real connection.... plus Beach House , Cults , She & Him are young as well and not very different musically...

but i guess that there's surely much more...

At different levels, i like all those bands... except maybe the Vivian Girls...i don't find their sound that exciting...
