@warmakern The DC60 can only record PAL 60 in black and white. you need a DC60+ (easycap v3.1) to record pal 60 in colour

you have to convert the video with something else after youve recorded it. for this I just used Windows Movie Maker. You need to export it at 1280x720 and whatever program you use will just scale the video up so it fits youtube's HD size

I'm getting an easy cap.. you can set it to capture straight to wide screen hd right?? you have the settings EXACTLY how I want mind.. as for the converting I have that taken care of already.. I just dont want a stretched looking screen like where the pixels looked stretched

Yep, I would definitely recommend an EasyCAP. They are much cheaper than a Dazzle and the quality is the same. Also, as you are from the US you wont have any problems with the video format, so ANY version of easycap will work for you :)

I just use the standard AV cables. An S-Video connection would be slightly better quality if it came straight from the xbox but not by much.

yes, but it doesn't make any difference because the output from the xbox goes straight into the easycap, and the tv just takes a copy of that signal

Why don't you use your component cable for the HD stream and then run the easycap off the the yellow video plug so you can play in HD and record in SD

I do that now, but you still dont play in HD. The xbox can only output one resolution at a time so the only way you can get it to play out the Yellow, and the RGB is to set the RGB to 480p, which isnt HD anymore.

Yer, I can't even get my tele to do that! As soon as I flick the switch to TV it outputs 576i and when I ask it to switch to 480p it does until I confirm the tele does 50hz then it switches back to 576i again. Pain in the ass! The only way I have found that I can play up to 720p/1080i is to get a Hava Platinum HD which I can pick up for £65 used.

I would like to play in 1080p but the cheapest way to do that would cost around £130 for a Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro. So I will probably just go for the lower quality 720p and record in SD from the Hava.

check your audio bitrate and frequency settings, make sure they are 128kbps or higher, and 41000kHz or higher

You just need to get the S-Video cable for it. I got one. I'm going to upload a Mirror's Edge HD test soon that will demonstrate it, although it is PAL 50. I just got my EasyCap today but do not want to use the ULead software. I figured out a good way to do it that's similar to rklamer's NTSC method.

The quality is the same on both versions, it just depends where you live. If you live in a PAL region (like Europe) then you need version 3.1b as that is the one that supports PAL 60. Otherwise, just buy whichever one you can get cheaper.

The quality is the same on the EasyCAP DC60 (v2.0) and the EasyCAP DC60+ (v3.1b). The only difference is that the DC60+ supports NSTC 433, PAL 60 and additional SECAM variants and the DC60 doesn't. Trust me, I have both of them.
