Sometimes the music is all original, some use musicians, some may use as many as 10 samples in one song. Hope you can now see why you wouldn't get the best material by throwing a beat together in 5 min. on stage. Congratulations to Budo but I liked 14KT better.

Remember this is what superstar producers like timbaland and pharrell do to make the millions upon millions that they do. I've never been to big tune competition, but i have friends who are tune/beat producers, and they play battle at places like this but smaller. They have to pick what to play based on the crowd, and the tunes that other producers have played. They also are controlling the the speed and pitch of their tune, and can even mix more samples live into it if they want to be more creative with it.
