@farcryguy1 haha its actually easy. matt heafy said he used to find 3 strings sweeps easiest...but if you like dedicated to the excersies you find, 5 strings with be the easiest for you...just keep practicing

I love how everyone critisizes Trivium because of The Crusade. Guys come on. That album was more like a experimental slbum, they wanted to try new things. If you look on the good side. The Crusade has some pretty sick stuff on that album e.g. Entrance, To The rats, Becoming The Dragon, Broken One, Vengeance.

Though it still haunts them with Shogun? With the posing of Metallica. IMO that's dog bollocks. Trivium have their own sound. It's called "Influence". Nearly every metal band will be. God

crazy train is probably the most widely played metal song on guitar.randy had so many styles and he was a pro at them all. dime was influenced by him. and van halen. no offense jeff but your only 20. so you grew up listening to bands like pantera. i grew up with iron maiden, judas priest, ozzy, megadeth, exodus, testament, back when metal was metal. if grew up when metal started and listen to what it is now you would be ashamed at what we let it become. dime bag will never be as good as Rhodes

I agree with you. i thought i'd be some phrygian speed head when i got into lead guitar, but most of my solos are influenced by penatonic stuff, more metallica and maiden influenced. I do that stuff, but it doesnt come out nice. I'd rather play a fast bluesy solo than some crazy phrygian shit. But everyone has their own style i guess. Black tide have pretty classic solos, Listen to Live Fast Die Young. Also with bluesy solos you can actually put emotion into it. Up the guitargasm!

im very much the same as you. i LOVE metal, megadeth is my #1 right now. whenever i need some stress relief though im always playing blues, even though i never listen to it.

i think because its not difficult to learn the basics of blues, so you can really put some heart into it early.. and theres no limit to what there is to learn in the blues sound so you end up sticking with it.

atleast with me, my first scale learned was blues- and its the one i know best.

play more standing up, tilt your guitar slightly upwards, and make your strap shorter :) and dude, it doesnt matter how high or low your strap is, like dont take notice of how gay it looks cus if it make you play better you might aswell do it right?

i had the same issues, i was using a lespaul style guitar and was holding it funny while sitting down, then standing it was like a whole other instrument, then i got a flying v and held it between my legs while sitting, eventually it felt comfratable to play sitting like that, then i stood up and it was the same thing, just watch some alexi laiho vids on here, plus when you stand with a v it hangs low so it also looks cool!! and that really counts too man!
