I'll Laugh for His Holiness :))))))))))) - "I AM THE ANTICHRIST, AND I SAY, BRING YOUR IPHONE TO MECCA, 40 DAYS AFTER THE 23rd of December, AND WATCH ME SHRED THE KABHA WITH MY HAMMER AS THOR THE THUNDER GOD, AND THE ANTICHRIST !!"
"Attatchment to the teaching is still attatchment."
"How will you know if a teaching is Buddhadhamma when I am gone? Compare it to my Dhamma and Vinaya."
I'd bet this is the real reason the Dalai Lama encourages westerners not to convert and to find the universal truth in the religion they were brought up in!
The Dalai Lama has never claimed to be a spiritual leader. He has claimed to be a simple monk. If people listen to his words and actions they can make their own decisions on who he is. I believe as a simple human being he shows compassion, humor and honesty. He has never asked anyone to follow him. That was decided when he was chosen as a very young boy by others. And a note to those who comment on fabrications fed to them by a society that controls them like sheep. Wake up, join the world!
The practice of Dorje Shugden is intolerant. The practice exalts the Gelug School of Buddhism over the other three. That is why the Dalai Lama asks that its followers not attend his tantric empowerments. Before each empowerment, there is a preamble to respect other beliefs. With the Shugdenites, it’s either Shugden or nothing else. HH is not excluding anyone, the nature of Shugden practice has non-Buddhist, cult-like characteristics and therefore promotes sectarianism
@shunfulin His Holiness is NOT a dictator. He simply asks those who propitiate Shugden not receive any empowerments from him, since Sugden practice is exclusive of other Tibetan Buddhist schools and practices, who do not demand total obedience from the initiate for a certain practice he wishes to do. The nature of Dorje Shugden is extremely intolerant and sectarian, therefore, it would be impossible to practice it and take another tantric practice in addition. It's his duty to point this out
Why doesn't she ask something about their beliefs? I can understand why Dalai Lama does want Tibetan Buddhism to be connected with worshiping some deity. Seems so disconnecting from the individual self. So truly oldfashioned and Dalai Lama seems so up to date! Doesn't seem realistic that it should be part of the pure teachings. It's like worshiping a thing. It seems so far from the truth about what life is, of pure existence to worship a spirit. Those people seem stuck.
@Yvveable Don't expect a news commentator to make any sense. They are guided by sensationalism, not the truth. It is true, when Shugden practice began, it was very popular, but also very feared. Shugden had a punitative nature against the other schools of Buddhism even when he was alive. If a practicioner wanted to do a practice from one of the other schools, such as the Nyngmapa method of meditation (Dzogchen), Shugden as a spirit would attack them causing them illness or death.
could someone enlighten me... I always thought that the dalai lamas trying to promote truth so even if religious freedom sounds fine and doozy isn't believing something that is false well... false. I always thought that by being grounded in logic, buddhism is more of a spiritual pathfinder than a religion. Since there are so many religions it's obvious that most are wrong. I don't know about the/his approach in this matter but his intentions of removing a deity seems logical & probably right
@Biostrath It is the duty of religious leaders to examine certain practices. The Dalai Lama's tutor warned him about Shugden's nasty nature before he initiated him into it. Years later, after careful examination, His Holiness discovered the practice was harmful. Not only he, but the 5th Dalai Lama and the 13th Dalai Lama were against the practice. Because of it's exclusive and intolerant nature, Shugden practice is incompatible with other practices. He stating that its incompatible.
@uranian99 hey thank you for clearing things up and also outing that she's not even a nun (as I read in your other replies). It's crazy how they spin things. Spewing out this kind of propaganda against the dalai lama (and tibet for that matter) one wonders if those people have no shame.
@Biostrath You're more than welcome. I know Tibetan Buddhism can sometimes seem confusing, but it is also interesting too. If you want to know more about the history of this practice and what led to the current controversy, just let me know. It's really too long to put in the space provided.
hey !!!!!!!!!! please 1st you live the tibetan monk dress please ok!! then tak about Tibet & Tibetan.hey because how are you ? are you a Tibetan ?how many got money from china ?I'm natural tibetan i dont any objections of
his holiness the Dalai Lama.whats problem you? are you a natural tibetan hahahahahaaaaaa!!!!!!!! I think you problem money ya.
@madzane94 She is a bhikkhuni, a nun. She is a westerner who practices Tibetan Buddhism. There are plenty of them in North India and throughout the world. Race, gender or background shouldn't restrict a monastic or Buddhist life.
@SchmexyVlog P.S I do not accept what she says, Chinese propaganda is at large. Yet regardless, no religion or spiritual groups should restrict any beliefs or worships. Sorry ani-la, but this is a little too questionable.
@SchmexyVlog She is NOT a nun. Any gompa (monastery) or dharma center would give those wishing to be monks or nuns at least a novice ordination with the required vows. The Western Shugden Society is not composed of ordained monks or nuns. This, I believe was Kelsang's Gyatso's idea who started the NKT in England of which the Western Shugden Society is affiliated. The society has cult characteristics any many former members have come forth telling of its abuses. Which includes sexual misconduct.
She is NOT a bhikkhuni. Bhikkhunis were nuns in the Theravada tradition (India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Burma, Laos, and Cambodia) and do not exist anymore. If she was Theravadin, she'd be guilty of one of the GRAVEST offenses according to the Vinaya which PROHIBITS causing a SCHISM, division, or creating disharmony and dischord within the Sangha.
@madzane94 I'll tell you who she is. She's not even a nun or a novice nun. Those robes she's wearing are a joke. The Western Sugden Society is affiliated with the "New Kadampa Tradition (NKT) in England It was started by a monk name Kelsang Gyatso was expelled from his monastery for misconduct, so now he's in England confusing the minds of young people with his venom against the Dalai Lama. He calles himself a "lama" even though he isn't. His followers are not ordained, they just wear robes.
kelsang lachog practice less dharma being a buddhist nun than critisize hh dalai lama on any occassion... she says dalai lama is dictatorship but she didnt mention about shugden practioner killing geshe la n his two student in dharamsala.she even lied that 2/3 of tibetan pratice shugden....the fact is there are 5 sects in tibetan buddhism and only few people from geluk sect practice this spirit. then how come it covers 2/3 of tibetan population.... shame on u kelsang...
DL has a reputation and appeal which makes his words influential and also explosive, esp to those who don like what he says. This virtue of DL alone gives him the power to "promote" Dorje Shugden, in this instance thru "unacceptable" means and speech. Bottom line is aren't we all still keeping DS alive with this controversy? With time it will fade and we can all practice DS! And those who dont, dont. Period.
hahahahaha what the fuck, you sayinmg ani la, did geshe kalsang fuck you good or what ,i live in india and what card are you talking about. living in west and talk about exile tibetan living in india, if there is buddha in this world ani la you belong to hell.
its no matter he is politic leader or religious leader, but , all this finall decision made by our ordinary tibetan people, if you really didnt know aobut that, then look more, dorjee shukden this orgnization is since few years chinese gov giving money and pushing in west, i know personaly many people from them and where i was born in tibet, one monastary practicing this gost, now ccp and they r one group
AI already said it has no credit on such religious related topics, not to mention many don't agree with AI's point of views. I personally think it is trying to Westernize(Genocide) other countries' ideologies.
Btw, not all Tibetan are Buddhism, they believe in Nature and Islam too. So Dalai Lama is not a suitable POLITICAL figure to govern Tibet.
nope he is and this is why people confused whether he is political or religious. He is both and that is why he is the head of Tibet in exile (a government). He is dealing with politics when he demands greater independence of Tibet from China. It is for the better goods of Tibetans but he should let others to deal with it, not lama.
Very true, the citizens under the exiled government in India are forced to worship whatever the Dalai Lama dictates. They are also taxed 1/3 of their salaries what goes to the monasteries and the Dalai Lama, none of this money actually helps the citizens such as in education, roads, health care etc...
@pennandteller3 Red China certainly needs no help from the western media to look bad. It's quite capable of doing that on it's own. China "freed" 1.2 million Tibetan people by murder and starvation. I don't think any of the Dalai Lama's did that. And why are the people protesting? They didn't do that under the Dalai Lamas either. Beijing needs to send us better liars.
