  • I saw many bigmistake again

this person is big= you can say; kare ha ookii hito desu or kokoni ookii hito ga imasu.

  • I meant to say phineus and ferB

  • @takineko WOW ur 25?? U look SOOOOOO young for your age!!! I bet a lot of ppl would be jelous of how young u look. Also when the person asked if u were a little young to make that reference u should I've said, "Yes, yes I am" haha phineus and fern reference.

  • 3:21 u said peson, not person. Not trying to be annoying and of u already have a million ppl saying that then sorry!

LOL closet above shelves!!! Haha! Thx for posting this is the best!!!

  • aren't you a bit young to make a martha stuart reference?

  • @nodvick Who me? I'm 25.

  • Can you please make a video with only exercises going over everything we've learnt so far? it would help.

  • At 3:18 when you wrote ''(or persons)'', shouldn't you write ''hito-tachi-ga'' or ''hito-jin-ga'' for plural? Just asking 'cause you hear -tachi or -jin added for plural.

  • "hito ga heya-no naka-ni mae-no watashi-wa uchiki desu"

the man live in the house in front of my house

is it correct? i think the "naka-ni" is either in from of "heya-no" or the back of it...

it would be great if someone cleared this :)

  • @GenerationDarkness "Ano hito-no heya-wa watashi-no heya no mae-ni ari masu."

  • @takineko

so basically the verbs almost most of the time are at the end of the sentence?

  • omg i finally figured something out after my brain almost melted...

you use "sono" in a way like "sono Subject-wa.."

-while you use "sore" like "sore-wa Subject"

  • 'Imasu' and 'arimasu' are kinda like Spanish's 'ser and 'estar' but not quite though. BTW I know you got nothing to do with the book's exercises but this lesson is great to go over everything seen before more than to understand the 'imasu' and 'arimasu'

Thank you a lot again! It's a great book and you're funny!

  • Key, when are we ever gonna learn another verb?

This is so hard, the ga and the wa always make me get confused, especially when -ni is there. Also, when you put -ni as a subject and when as a predicate thingy is pretty confusing as well. The -no xxx-ni also confuses me and partly because I don't learn the vocabulary. This is so hard! Kore-wa taihen muzukashiku arimasu!!!

  • @ArturoStojanoff Don't forget I still think these are great and I thank you a lot!!

  • @ArturoStojanoff

if you want to learn, you might as well read it all. anyways, heres roughly what they mean: (i say roughly because i may be missing some details)

"wa" is for indicating one thing while "ga" is for indicating a specific item/person.

the "no" is used when one thing refers/or associate to another object/person.

"ni" itself can be refer to as in/on/at.

  • .....i gave up on all the excercises becuz i m too slow to know them=(

    but just 1 i know

  • whi do you write masu when you pronunciate it mas?

  • my head hurts!

  • great ashely!!

  • at 2:50 it says

    Tatami-no ue-ni nani to nani-ga ari-masu ka?

shouldnt that mean "what and what are on the reed mat?" instead of "Floor"?

  • Thank you very much for uploading, those lessons are really helpful... ariagou gozaimasu ^^

I think kirei means beautiful too...my dictionary says so......(utsukushii too)

  • I meant arigatou gozaimasu ^^

  • Can't stop laughing x'D

  • OH GOD!!! It's GETTING LONGER!! AND HARDER!!! XD!! MUST LEARN FROM THE START!!

  • ;D That sounds dodgy

  • you have really gud videos nd ur funi too! but when you said hibachi-no soba-ni hito-ga i-masu, does soba-ni mean by the??

  • sugoi to kawaii!

  • I think, if you wanted to join adjectives with "to" like that, then you would have to use the noun-adjective inflexion form of the adjectives.

    - sugoku to kawaiku -

... likely works better. Otherwise just remember that "to" is an "and" that joins nouns together, as in "pen to inku" as in the exercises.

  • oh..thanks ill keep that in mind!

    arigatou!

  • arigato gozaimasu! Sensei-no lessons-wa sugoi desu!

  • these are the best lessons you can find thxxxxx... but in which lesson are we studying verbs?

  • As usual, many compliments for the excellent lessons.

I have a problem understandin why '-de' is lacking here:

    Kono hito-wa ookiku ari-masu

    yet is present here:

    Kono hito-wa kirei-de su

    Thanks

  • i couldn't stop laughing so i had to watch it again lol

  • Oh crap - never mind, I spoke too soon, here's the box!! Damn! I thought I escaped the insaneness! Lol.

  • This is the best Japanese lessons I've every seen. Thanks, Takineko!

  • Im loving these lessons! :D :D

  • who designed this house roflmaool

  • I've been watching all your lessons so far, even though I mostly knew them. But tehy were really good =) =)

Anyways, I was wondering about the 'Nippon' in this lesson. Practically everything else I've looked at uses 'Nihon' instead. Are both used, or is it just that this book is old and its changed?

  • my book is pretty old, I believe both could be correct but nippon is probably not used much anymore.

  • Ok, thanks =P I was just wondering.

  • hi to you takineko i really enjoyed ur lesson i want to repeat everyday for 1 hr so that i could speak japanesse clearly im here in japan for almost 2 months but sad to say i cant speak japanesse clearly and i cant replied directly but i can write katakana and hiragana and a sort of kanji, ^_^ THANK YOU SO MUCH TAKINEKO mwuaahh

    Ton kun desu,

  • Last episode? aw... i'll gonna miss your cute voice alphone! T_T

  • its not the last one.

  • thanks for your efforts, your lessons are easy and i've learnt quite a lot so far ^^

    keep up the good work

  • Still working on Lesson 16?

  • yep, I worked on it some today, not ready yet.

  • Yay!

  • Gomen Nasai if I'm rushing you.

  • when ur new lesson's will b ready?

  • I love these vids! ^^ The lessons are very helpful to non-Japanes speakers. The only thing is....... your pronunciation is not correct. Not to be mean or anything, but I really think that you should practice getting the correct pronunciation down yourself before saying it to others. We don't want people learning it the wrong way, riight? ;]

  • i intake great enjoyment when watching your vids. thank you very much, Takineko.

  • Quick question:

    Ano (puranto)-wa Watashi-no desuku-no ue-ni i-masu.

That plant over there is on my desu.

    Sono (rihu)-wa anata-no shatsu-no naka-ni (i or ari?)-masu.

That leaf is in your shirt.

  • i love these videos sooooo much. they are so helpful since im learning nihongo now. i wish there were more

  • Whoa, disregard my comment. Delete it if you want. I misheard or misread something.

  • no prob

  • Awhhh--is this that last one? ~_~

  • there will be more

  • how many videos will u be making and will all the videos cover most of the japanese?

  • about 51, it will cover many things.

  • If Latin 3 wasn't currently draining my life away, I'd love to learn japanese. I learned the basics from anime, like greetings and swears. Just the other day I got into an intelligent conversation about the difference between the jap. word for apple and Ringo Starr, and whether the two had any relation.

Back on topic: Thanks for taking the time to compose this stuff!

  • how many lessons does ur book have? only like 50-60 or more?? ^_^

  • around 51 or so

  • lol more more !!! lol ty god bless you

  • I was working on the next one but I got side tracked, there will be a little over fifty lessons. God bless you too!

  • thank you for posting that because i'm interested in japanese about a year but know i can learn some of the bases

  • hmm as far as i knew japan was Nihon haven't heard of Nippon and both come out as 日本 so was wondering if you knew if it was like tomato tomoto (i know its not tomoto i just cant pronounce things in text lol) where both are correct just different pronunciations.

  • same here, I don't know why I've heard both versions, it's probably best to switch to nihon.

  • nnvm..tnk u for uploading these useful vids anyway...arigato gozaimASU!

  • pls, when will japanese lesson 16 come out? if you pls, pls tell.

  • don't know.

  • ahhh your lessons are so enjoyable and amusing!! Even though I already know japanese. Hmm why am I here actually?? o.O

  • Go TakiCat Go!

  • Is it that a big difference between "teeburu" and "tsukue"? As far as I know tsukue practically means desk, but can I use it to always say "table" or will I confuse people? :)

Once again, thanks for the videos!

  • teeburu is the english cognat and tsukue is formally and originally japanese

  • @ least now i noe ari-masu and desu are almost similiar,i can put my head into a rest about not thinking so much about ari-masu and i-masu.i dun get it anyway...just a little.

  • pls...can i ask a Q? In the exercise 1st sentence, it is "Kore-wa rippa-na heya-de su" why cant we say "kore-wa rippa-na heya-de ari-masu"? anyway ari-masu is "is,are" right?

  • desu and ari-masu are very similar. I ran your question by my friend Zeni, he explained that -de ari-masu is not used as much any more. Besides, desu is shorter and easier. You can say -de ari-masu but its very formal. Desu is neutral.

  • oh...tnks

  • anyone no how to say'idiot'in japanese?i heard the word'idiot'on a video but can't hear wat they say.coz besides learning japanese,i want to know that word 2 so that when a pax cal me idiot,i cal him idiotin jap so he'll redraw from battle coz he dun undestands

  • baka = stupid. Baka yaro = idiot so to speak.

  • Haha, takineko, your videos always make me laugh!

I mean, learning Japanese can be a really boring thing...full of bad dialogue and...stuff. But your videos make it so much more fun! XD Your little inserted comments never fail to make me laugh out loud!

Thank you for posting. I look forward to more lessons. Yoroshiku, ne~

  • This came sooner than I thought...

Takaneko I know you go by the lessons in the book so please don't get annoyed!

The more common used words for Japan is Nihon and Japanese is Nihongo. English is Eigo.

    Thanks for the lesson.

  • I agree, I probably should have said so in the vid, thanks

  • ^^ I'd like to comment on...your comment. Please excuse me. ^^;

"Nippon no" (or "Nihon no") is still "Japanese", but it doesn't mean "Japanese" as in the Japanese Language; it just means "of Japan", which is "Japanese".

    ^^''' Hehe.....

  • yay!!! i like knowing how to speak japanese at school and confusing the hell outta them ^^

thanks for the new lesson ^^ arigato ^^

  • Martha Stuart ftw!

  • thanks for posting another lesson :D

i've learned from them but not much since i'm such a slow learner hahaha and i'm learning a bit of korean right now (i know, it's a great way to confuse my mind, learning two languages at the same time, crazy eh?) anyway thanks again

btw, i like your japanese pronounciation,

    mine sucks :P

  • I learned a little bit of korean, not much I like it though. Anyonghaseiyo. [i dont know if i spelled that right]. I like how they write, but I still get confused.

  • You must know all the Asian languages!

The hardest of em all is Chinese though.

  • ever try to learn arabic? bollocks hard.

  • I have a book the army gives people of arabic, but I haven't looked at it, it wouldn't be helpful unless i could hear it though.

  • whops, forgot i wrote that, pardon my irish

  • not exactly, ima chinese but its not hard 2 learn, though i think it sucks! maybe the chinese from the vids you learn are higher chinese.higher chinese are harder than the simple 1 that are used nowadays.higher chinese have more strokes than simple ones.

  • i believe its annyounghaseyo ^)^

  • yeh we got a pitcher :)

  • well done, well done indeed !
