the whole world loves to write "Fedor lost". Guys, he is only human, he's not God. What he achieved in martial arts (won a medal in Russian Judo Nationals, numerous world titles in Sport & Combat Sambo, being Pride champion, being well rounded MMA fighter) has not been achieved by many. You may dispute his record by stating that he fought cans, etc.. that's your personal opinion but at least give the man some credit for achieving more than most martial artists out there.

@drum8oo8 no.. it is a martial art not mixed.. the loss on his record isnt even from this fight. he lost in a RINGS tournament and it was a bullshit loss.. the rules stated if you bleed you were eliminated but the guy hit him with an illegal elbow which opened the cut.. the only reason the guy wasnt DQd was because fedor was bleeding and there would be noone to advance to the next round.
@corylepire Sambo is a real deal discipline, amigo. These fighters would be very successful in UFC. They would thrash many of them UFC fighters. We haven't seen many good fighters, yet, we think of UFC as the best. If only UFC opens its window more, can we see all the real and bad fighters in the world.

Blagoi Ivanov is Bulgarian. The only ones who can beat Russians. I am Bulgarian, and for me Fedor is the greatest fighter ever. This loss i can accept only because Bulgaria wins :)
In combat Sambo striking is allowed but not scored, you get points for throwing or taking down the opponents, and can win by submission, knockout, or having the most point at the end of the fight.
@Nerkimusaka I think he first started with judo... then went to sambo. He also lost in judo a few times before but the rules in sambo and judo are different than mma (you can win with a throw) but I'm sure Fedor would've won that fights under mma rules.
In his mma fights fedor als got thrown e.g. in the randleman fight, which would've been an ippon for randleman and the win in a judo fight but fedor was able to submit him with a reversed ude garami (kimura) after that

Arlovski is also a top tier Combat practitioner. He is taller and more athletic then Lesnar. If you think Arlovski can't take Lesnar down, get Brocks nuts out your mouth.
Be serious, Arlovski is absolutely not more athletic than Lesnar, look at Lesnar's NFL workout numbers. Couture, with world class wrestling got outwrestled by Lesnar, whereas Arlovski got taken down and controlled by Nelson pretty easily. Arlovski is a good fighter, but he has a terrible chin and would be destroyed by Lesnar.

lots of fighters hold the arm til the referee comes, that way theres no controversy, your opponent cant say "whyd you stop it?" I've never seen Fedor try and finish breaking the arm while his opponent tapped.

Be serious, Arlovski is absolutely not more athletic than Lesnar, look at Lesnar's NFL workout numbers. Couture, with world class wrestling got outwrestled by Lesnar, whereas Arlovski got taken down and controlled by Nelson pretty easily. Arlovski is a good fighter, but he has a terrible chin and would be destroyed by Lesnar.

Brock got one takedown. Couture dominated the clinch and stuffed a shot. And when he had Couture down he couldnt keep him there. Hardly "outwrestled". In that fight and in the second fight you can see how much a decent punch hurts Brock. And ya AA has the chin of a 12 yr old.

There was no elbow , it was a clean arcade from punch.He lost like a newbie to that nonamer and he loses pretty much every time at sambo so dont go too high defending him.And you should watch his matches(which are all against lousy fighters but whatever) ,not just count on the record,he actually almost lost 20 of them,he was almost k.o-ed by Arlovski and devasted literally by Hong Man Choi.After these 2 fights I cant see him as a good fighter.
