Serah time traveled forward to the point where Hope is now older than she is. When you time travel you don't age but everyone else around you does. So she traveled forward enough to the point where Hope now beats her by several years.

It's 3 years into the game. So, if Hope was 14, that would make him 17 now.

Yeah but they also say Serah Farron was 18 in Final Fantasy XIII here: finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Se­rah_Farron and in the sequel they say she is 21. How does that make sense? I am getting confused.

Yeah, but if Hope is 24 years old, that makes Serah 28..? O.O. Since in the first game Serah was 18 and Hope was 14, and you are saying it is 10 years later ... I've heard that Serah is 21-22 and Hope is 18 or around there. But that is only what I have heard. I don't think he is 24 to be honest :)

@EliniaraEclipse this hope is from a different timeline, other wise he'd be 17 since this sequel takes place 3 years after the first one when hope was 14, also serah is 5 years older then hope so by why you thought she would've been 29 :p
