  • @iamhandsomedave2: a ruling pen can certainly be used for a lot of things other than straight lines. it is as diverse as any ordinary pen in terms of linear abilities.

    @smidgen25: a ruling pen, i think, is traditionally used by architects, comic book artists and graphic designers. i personally learned to use it extensively in a 2D/Design/Color Theory course for making very precise paintings and exercises on illustration board. the liquid she used was simply water.

  • I agree with "smidgen25." I have a ruling pen and haven't been able to use it for anything but straight lines...the intended use of the pen. A demonstration would be nice on how you use it.

  • Smidgeon, the challenge is run off my blog, have you visited there? I mixed water with the paint, I filled the pen as much as it should be filled.

  • This video seems incomplete? I mean what are you suppose to use a "ruling pen" for? Why do you only fill it part way? What was the liquid that you mixed with the paint to make the paint thinner? This is a little confusing?
