im not making a fraction of the power u guys are but feel like doing burnouts before each run with my linelock engaged could possibly be taking a toll on the rearend and the whole one tire fire lol was more or less eliminated with the line lock, you know due to the fact that the read brakes arent grabbing at all during burnouts but it still doesnt feel like its locked as it should be? idk jus wonder what the modifications youve made to yours is to handle the abuse
oh yeah ive seen all the vids of the truck like 30 times haha i cant geet enough of it i jus watch over n over disecting every second of each run listeng to shift points n watchin the truck do whatr it does, having a thick drag racing back ground and doing my best to make my truck into what i want, you guys and what you do is so great, to have even an ounce of communication with ya is awsome i was wondering about the rear end in the truck i know they have limited slips and have breakin points
I see, do u guys ever come out east for any events? and does woods do ur tranny? Last time I spoke with him he quoted me a price to do mine its deff gonna be my next step
@kicker684 We have not traveled with the truck much, I don't see the point until I've got it more "dialed in" and working right. It's too expensive to drive a lot of miles just to "test and tune". Yes, it's a JW trans. BTW, this is an old account, you should click my link at the end of my posting and visit the new StrictlyDieselRacing channel...those are the most up to date videos, with the new engine and in-cab video as well.
@kicker684 The frame was cut right behind the cab and the appropriate length taken out. It was then welded back up and than had additional reinforcement welded in place. You can find pictures of how this conversion is done on sites like Powerstroke Nation dot com...look for pictures from a member named "weweld". He did my truck and several others, including his own truck which is called "Stroked Lightning" and has been features in magazines, etc.
Stock tranny? I ran 15.08 with dp tuner air intake n exhaust, slicks n a stock tranny, in my 2wd 7.3 superduty, then removed tailgate n spare tire n on ppl y got to run 8th mile that day but was running low 9's n thats a high 14 sec pass usually jus depends on gearing tire size n shiftpoints for the top end
@kicker684 I don't remember, that was 5 years ago now. It might have had the trans done then. You can hear the tire spin in that video, those were HORRIBLE BFG Baja TA tires!
If I remember right (that was a while ago), basic chip/intake/exhaust in addition to being cut down to a regular cab/short bed. The ladder bar suspension was in place at that time as well. Truck was otherwise stock at the time. Tires were CRAPPY BFG Baja TAs on stock 2005 steel wheels.

How exactly did u guys achieve the shortbed conversion like I know first u would need to get ahold of a 6ft box but how bout the chassis alterations?

What was done to the truck at this time? What tires were you running?
