There are plenty of American Jews who served in the US Military and made aliyah to go serve in the IDF. So, try again.

The word shofar is Hebrew for the word for trumpet
The shofar has been used for military purposes for over 5000 years
The military call he is playing is called Taps (it is not a "wake-up call")
However we do need a wake up call here in America :-)

i used to play a trumpet and a cornet and now i play a bugle and the shofar.
and i am 61 years old. just remember to tighten your lips and do the buzz with them
