  • Collins in fact DID use his position of authority to evangelize. He clearly states in the introduction to his book, The Language of God, that for President Clinton's public announcement of the completion of the Human Genome Project, he "worked closely with the president's speechwriter" to specifically include multiple mentions of God in the speech.

That said, it might have helped if these guys actually researched Collins' beliefs instead of going off someone else's criticism of him.

  • To say Collin's beliefs are "disturbing" is absurd. Good God, it's not like he thinks the Earth is 6000 years old.

  • lol this is great, I was at the UC berkley talk by collins, and every critique in this video was just a desperate attempt to grab any slightly illogical sounding sentence Dr collins said completely out of context to make him look bad. Im not religious or anything but this video was just pathetic attempt by a bunch of apparently insecure atheists. Who cares if Dr Collins' views on reality differs from yours, deal with it and get on with your life.

  • I do not think Matt likes Russel...he is always criticizing him...

  • These videos have helped me to realize why I like listening to Matt Dillahunty. He IS rational, while most atheists and agnostics only claim to be.

In fact, in this and in the following videos, all of these "enlightened atheists" prove themselves to be pompous jerks. Matt seems to be the only one who realizes that Collins' religion does not necessarily effect his science.

Honestly, I don't care if Einstein worshiped Leprechauns as long as his science was correct.

  • @NamesForDogs Well put

  • The thing I don't understand about Collins is that he's making things up and stating them as fact. Clearly a lot of us think that the bible is made up but at least Christians have a book that they can rely on as the source of their belief. And obviously science relies on evidence. But here Collins uses neither an makes up his own version of history. I wonder about this guy. There is something else going on with him. He has some unknown agenda. His actions don't make sense.

  • Dillahunty seems to be the smartest and most logical of these hosts.

  • Jeff is nice too.

  • fine tuning my ass, these guys tell it like it is but should have explained his fallacies

Harris ownz and God bless him for that ^^

  • I'm an atheist because I walked into the woods and saw NO waterfall.

    =P

  • If god wanted us to have knoweldge of good and evil then the whole snake bit in the garden was a farce and we are being punished for nothing. What an incredibly sadistic God!

  • So just to make sure we have this straight....Francis Collins is a moron but you 3 geniuses, with your 380 views on youtube are brilliant? Awesome.

  • Results and interpretations are different things. Collins doesn't have to be reasonable about theology to make good scientific lab results.

Saying Collins is a scientist so leave his interpretations alone is asinine.

  • Collins is a very smart man with a few moronic views.

  • sam's essay was frickin asweome

  • I love the "fine-tuning of nature's constants" bit that ID supporters pull. If things were different, things would be different. Brilliant.
