Paul Roberts tried his best but he just  wasnt right. John Ellis was even worse. Good guitar player but not cool enough. Often wondered what JJ was thinking using either of them. Baz is better, but he's from Teeside.

Your right, Paul Roberts was never a strangler. Im only 15 but have been to about 10 stranglers concerts. It has been better ever since they became a 4 piece again and got rid of Paul. Look at the way hes acting, looks like he should be in sum 41, let alone the stranglers !

What I'd pay to see the real Stranglers perform live...I was only one year old when Hugh left...never got to see them.

Ah well, whatever happens I'm a big fan of Hugh's solo work and enjoy going to his gigs.

I doubt anything could beat seeing the original line up take to the stage once more...

Paul Roberts must be the most hated replacement singer ever. So many people agree he simply sings so horrible... Spot on - And before any of the "Ive never seen Hugh but he was the best" brigade chip in - I saw them from 1976 onwards and Paul Roberts was at times as good as Hugh when he wasnt going through the motions!
