  • I'm sure the Mhadi Militia and the insurgents are very happy to see what they are shooting at so they can better target our facilities. Way to go man...

  • @esanders1717 Glad we have security experts like you around. A) "Our facilities," as you call them, were on the grounds of the Republican Palace. Believe me, the insurgents already knew we were there. B) Nothing in that video exists anymore. Everything's been moved to the new embassy compound, and has been for several years now. Way to be current with your assessment, genius. You must work at the Pentagon.

  • @Poodog73 I'm glad we have people walking around like tourists in a combat zone. Surely you missed the signs at the front CaC that say "No Cameras/Photography" I'm guessing you were a guard or a reservist, because I know that if ANY active duty soldier who outranked you saw that, they would have tightened you up on the spot... The insurgents already knew what was there, but you just made it easier and showed them what we lived in, how we built it, and what, if any, protection we had from IDF..

  • @esanders1717 To reiterate, by the time this video was posted, none of these facilities existed anymore. Also, do you see any workstations? No. Do you see any security gate setups? No. Do you see any ID cards? No. I knew what could and couldn't be photographed because I had a government issued photo pass. Hell, I taught classes to the press on what could and couldn't be photographed. You see a couple of street scenes well outside the old palace and a random housing area. Settle down, expert.

  • @esanders1717 Of course, if you can call the Green Zone a "combat zone" and keep a straight face, I'm starting to see why you're freaking out over nothing. A few sandbags stacked around some doors aren't exactly top secret. At least not since World War I or so.

  • @esanders1717 Do they still do OPSEC and COMSEC training in the Army? Pure genius.

  • @esanders1717 i love how he tries to cover it up then gives up more info like "everything moved to the new embassy"..Opsec,gotta love it..wish i was there though, nice fob, chu's ,best of all air conditioners.. : /

  • Sooner or later the Iraqis are going to drive US out of their country. Sooner the better...

  • thanx

  • My time in Edgewood was October '06 to July '07 (that was my second, more uneventful trip to Baghdad). Figured I'd better get some footage for the folks at home before it all went away. Might be scheduled to go there for a bit in the next few months. Interested to see what the new embassy compound is like.

  • Looks like home to me! I lived there, March 2005- May, 2006. I lived in Edgewood 54-1R

  • at least the streets are clean

  • Your old camp is all gone now. The palms, poolside, all the trailers behind the palace are all gone...belongs to the Iraqi's now....only thing left in the area is Camp Hope and riverside/embassy estates/camp travis....its a fricken ghost town now. They are even closing the CSH "cash" hospital soon....The rockets seem to be targeted towards the new embassy now that the old palace is closed!

  • Thanks for being there for us.

  • showed my fam the video...my brother comes home in 4 daysss!!

    i cant wait..

    thanks SOO much for serving...

  • Been there many times since '03. Not much fun in the Red. This was just to show the family back home where we lived.

    Enjoy.

  • You know that row in Edgewood was destroyed this year during heavy shelling?
