Wow, I hoped this was on youtube. What a nostalgic sound & time of my life."big Hair" days for sure. I was actually IN Japan and would catch concerts and Sumo wrestling at Nakano Hall. I missed this one but bought the precursor to the DVD, a LaserDisc; copy of this very concert I still have it downstairs and would blast it. Shakatak is one of my favorites though I've never seen them play live.
Great to read Cara's comment about Keith playing again. I saw Shakatak a number of times in the 80s and always thought Keith Winter was one of the greats. He played with such feeling. I'd definitely love to see him play again with Shakatak, or indeed on his own. Best wishes Keith !
he's playing again. In fact, had a gig myself the other evening and had him up on stage which was wonderful. I never got to see him play live, only seen top of the pops footage so so great to see these videos etc and was obviously great the other eve too. It was lovely to see your message! x
That is absolutley fantastic news!. wish i had been there to see that!. His guitar playing on the shakatak albums is phoenominal. it was a real tragedy when he had to stop playing in the band, maybe one day he will be able to join them on stage again! now that would be OUT OF THIS WORLD! it was nice he also wrote the track one for cara x
He sure is. I myself had the prvelidge of seeing him many times perform live with the band. And it was indeed an honour to meet him on various occasions. I wish him all the very best. Andy.
Cara- your father is a great musician- i never stop listening to the older shak stuff- whilst Bill Sharpe is an awesome keyboard player i often thought the Shaks were known for their keyboard work and often your fathers playing was over looked by the media.
he's not a bad composer either...........i'm thinking the 'b' side to Mr Manic and Sister Cool........One for Cara!
What a do......
