.so i fitted today brand new one ...3 peaces big bearing clutch n this another part..everything went easy plus we changed gearbox oil...Iam starting a car n still this f.....noise...clutch works perfect but from where is that noise cuz defenetly i can hear is abt gearbox n clutch..please help me...ps when im watch this part i can see he have another small bearing i didnt have that in a kit..i just hopi this small bearing not makin that noise..is that possible??or what it can be??
Hello peeps.. I have a questtion..Ive got a honda civic 1.5lsi 1992-95 version d15b2 .My clutch was to change cuz it was just like no clutch and funny noise like grrrr with szzzzz..but when u press a clutch noise dissapering..as soon u take a cloutch off its noise...when iam driving as higher rpm i have is more noisy..I thouth thats a clutch n it just not unclutching till the end..
Big plus on never using an impact gun. Thats the incorrect way and lazy way. Those bolts only gey 20flbs of torque. That impact probably did more than that.
For somebody who has talked a clutch and did it properly for the most part, you have no idea what to do with yourself explanation wise. Good job, bad description lol.
your mistake was using an impact wrench on a tiny 10mm headed bolt. i made this mistake on the upper control arm bolt cover but that was no big deal. Shops use impacts because they are lazy. I only use an impact to drive long screws to avoid having to turn the wrench so much but i always tighten by hand.
Musicandsoul, I think your issue could be clutch master cylinder needs bleeding or replace.
Jason, i'm thinking of replacing clutch master/slave cylinders, rear main seal, motor mounts, tranny mounts and some suspension bushings when I do my clutch since everything will be off anyways.
If you had all the parts and no broken bolts, how long do you think the job would have taken?
Hi I'm from India, & I own a 2008 Honda Civic 1.8MT I had vibrations in 1st gear from 15th day&500 Kms of purchase & even after 7 visits to the service centre, they only did clutch bleeding. On my insistence they opened the clutch system & found a worn out clutch pressure plate and replaced at cost. They say clutch pressure plate can wear out in one hours time also and has no warranty. Car still jerks in 1st gear&reverse,&difficult to drive in stop go traffic. Requesting your opinion and advise.
yeah what you think about a 12lb flywheel you think it would be hard to drive everyday? debating on whether i should get a regular stock flywheel or a 12lb.
Now that I think about it, I believe the springs in the clutch are so when you engage your transmission, the sudden stop to the clutch disk, the springs kinda soak up the vibration of your clutch suddenly stopping when it was spinning. So if you shift say at 4k, your engine is spinning at 4000 revolutions per minute, that's quite a bit, and the sudden stop puts vibration ware on parts, the springs are there to dissipate that vibration keeping parts lasting longer.
This wasn't helpful at all. I need to know how to get the throw out bearing off and you didn't show how you did that. The hardest part is getting the parts off. It's commendable that you took the time to try to show everyone how to do a clutch, but you should've shown how you took off each part.
Sorry that wasn't more helpful. This whole ordeal took about a week. At the end I really just wanted to get the car back together. Removing the throwout bearing is really easy. basically a springy piece of metal is all that holds it in. You should be able to screw with it and have it out in a few seconds. Good Luck.
Actually I was able to just take it off by hand by working it back and forth. It came off easier than I thought it would. The problem I've having now is taking off the bolts that hold on the pressure plate. I don't know about the 96's, but the 2005 Civic has these stupid star type sockets. It's not technically a star socket, nor is it a torx socket. I don't know what it is. It's probably a special tool I might have to get from MAC tools or Sears. Hopefully I won't have to go to the dealer for it

how many miles did your car have on it when you changed the flywheel? i got 100,000 miles on mine and tryna decide if i wanna change it

I had about 150 or so. I would only change it if its slipping or not working.

Yes youre right! I fiqured that too. Those springs "cushions" the shock the clutch disk recieves when the clutch pedal operates .
