What! Those was the best looking RTS's made.

  • This takes me back. Shreveport, LA (SPORTRAN) had 7 1980 models. They were retired in 1996 for 35ft Orion Vs. They are about to retire this year as well. All my city has now is Gilligs and 5 New Flyers. At one point we had GM Fishbowls, Flxible Metro A, GMC RTS, Orion I and Orion V buses in our fleet. You would hear 6V92, Cummins L10, 6V71, and one DD S50 at our station. Those were the days. You never knew what would pull up.

  • @jdeandre Yup good ole times!

  • @thetickleninjas They are the originals!

  • i miss Cleveland's 8V71 powered versions of these beasts

  • Aw man these buses are the shit

  • @WMATAvids Yes they are!

  • these buses are totaly awesome!!!! my home town of hazleton pa leased 4 of them from williamsport back in october of 1996 but of course they were refitted with sliding windows and one of them aftermarket a/c's . and then them SHIT FLYER D-30 LF's arrived in january of 98 . this is a very nice coach !!! I<3 RTS II'S!!!! :D !!!!

  • OMG it takes me back to old days in Kalamazoo/ Battle Creek, MI when they had GMC RTS 2 with exact same sound like this.

  • This is awesome. Where was this filmed? Does he take anyone in his bus for rides? I would love to ride this bus. Reminds me of the buses I rode as a kid! Wish the video were longer!:)

  • This was filmed in Riverside C.A. My friend own this beautiful bus. This day he had an open house at his yard. If you would like to know more message me.

  • Thank you. If I am ever there sometime, I'd like a ride in that bus. I guess he must have a lot of land to store this. This brings back memories of my childhood. How does your friend get the parts and maintain this bus?

  • Ex-Janesville Transit System #416

  • they sounded a litte different but they all had that same moan when turned.

  • Damn!! I remember when Pgh had these units. Ours were 8v71 due to the hills that they had to climb. Great vid!

  • Thats sick! I would have love to hear one of these with the 8V71.

  • mbta's 1985 gmc rts had the 6V71T with the V730

  • I think I heard Jeremy's voice in there... Nice vid and thanks!

  • yes that was jeremy lol.

  • Yea hes in there.

  • Man this is awesome! This sounds more original than the 6V92 RTS models

  • Yeah man since the older rts had either the 6V71 or an 8V71 but later on repowered with a 6V92. we hardly see rts's with the older stuff

  • Man who you tellin, i really dig those 8V71 rts buses. They sound gangsta!

  • i've never ridden in a 8V71 powered rts but.....they sound good in newlooks

  • @8v71buses

But the 6V92 RTS are the most famous ones, because I Was on that bus in broward county.

  • @jmjfanss true that the 6v92 engines were very popular especially during the 80's and early 90's

  • @8v71buses

and it continues to be popular ever since.

  • Wow! That's a nice, strong running bus right there. Sounds like a New Look's soul reincarnated itself into this RTS.

    Nice video!! Five-stared and favorited!!!

  • Thanks, haha yup! That 6V71 makes you think your in a Newlook but its an RTS.

  • I was going to say that! BEAUTIFUL Vid! DAYUM!!
