You need to know Zhuan Falun is not an ordinary book where for one, the meanings can't/shouldn't be superficially deciphered by pulling out quotes like other academic writings. Keeping a healthy body through qigong is a part of traditional chinese culture, its not just "Falun Gong's belief". i wasn't born in China or live in China. Qi gong = chinese aerobics excercise, it's good exercise but that's all there is too it. FLG is the bastardization of traditional Chinese culture as far as I know it. Chinese culture is based on Confucianism which is a strict moral code and not a "religion" build around worshiping other worldly beings.
Chinese culture is not only based on Confucianism, theres also beliefs of the Dao and the Buddha schools of thought. And in these beliefs and religions, they worship sooo many "other wordly beings" its hard to keep track of how many.

Let me give you just a few among millions of examples of other wordly beings in chinese traditional culture and religions: In Daoist beliefs there is the Celestial Worthy of Original Commencement (Yuanshi tianzun), who "dwells in the supreme Great Canopy Heaven (Daluo tian)." And theres also the belief in innumerable daoist Inmortals (Xians). In buddhism theres the beliefs in Buddha Amithaba (Amituo Fo) who rules the Paradise of Ultimate Bliss.
In traditional chinese culture, there is so many beliefs in the supernatural, and in gods and otherwordly beings (like the Dragons, Jingang, etc). People thinking the way you think now is the result of the trend of thought that the cultural revolution implanted in China.

umm i think you have the science wrong. Earth Quakes are one of the things that scients have trouble predicting. I saw a documentary on discovery channel regarding earth quakes that suggested that the moons gravitation might cause earth quakes on fault lines, but thats only a theory. and they said there were too many factors to predict earth quakes accurately. Unless Chinese scientist are more advanced than Americans, but i highly doubt that. It might just be bs.

I read the article. You can foreshadow the probability of a quake of a fault line, but you can't pin point the exact date. You can label danger zones but that's all. The only way to avoid any casualties is to declare the areas uninhabitable. But cities like LA and many Japanese cities wouldn't exist if that was the case. It would be best if China can learn from Japan and rebuild these towns with quake resistant buildings.

Its not a religion, its Xiulian. This is a term from traditional chinese culture, it means "Cultivation-Refinement" of one's own nature and body. The term Qigong was taken from the chinese texts "Internal Alchemy" and "Dao Zang" as a substitute for the name of Xiulian during the cultural revolution so that the people who taught these things wouldnt be persecuted and killed because of promoting "mixin" (superstition).

Well, the word is very well used. The fact you dont think its happening doesnt mean its not happening. Theres even evidence of organ harvesting, and the UN Raporteur of Torture said 66% of victims of torture in China are Falun Gong practitioners.

This topic came up in one of the forums i read. We came to conclusion was that many of the sources provided where FLG connected, some cases looked staged and some people actually had skin cancer but labeled as burned victims. And there was an actual report stated there was insufficient evidence to support FLG claims. I think the logical candidates for organ harvesting would be death row inmates, not nice but a least in death they would of done some good for someone.
Of course the sources are Falun Gong connected, several media in other countries dont want to mess around with China, especially because nowadays everyone wants to do business with China. If you criticize their human rights situation, they wont do business with you. People nowadays dont care too much for each other, all they care about is money and their own well being. If the government is destabilized it can disrupt the process and ultimately impede the modernization of poor rural areas.Shenzhen was one of poor countryside villages 20 years ago, now it's a metropolis, im sure many other cities will follow.Don't paint entire China as a labour camp because it's not. Well, Falun Gong just want the persecution to stop. Some practitioners say the CCP will fall because they believe that through the persecution the CCP generated karma for persecuting and hurting so many people. Why would they get banned when they were being promoted? Something must of changed or gone wrong in FLG. Even the begining it was wierd, Li Hong Zhi creating this religion because he received enlightenment. Sorry it sounds like a scam to me.
It all began when Li Hongzhi separated himself from the China Qigong Scientific Research Society, which is the means the CCP uses to control Qigong. He separated because kept asking him to charge money, but the teaching of Falun Gong is free. And Falun Gong is not a religion, its xiulian, which is the original name of qigong. The fact that you think it is a religion is because of the communist propaganda saying its an "evil cult" which is absolutely ridiculous and made up.
Then after that, propaganda campaigns defaming Falun Gong began on newspapers. So practitioners went to the local media to clarify and tell them Falun Gong is good. Many apologized for their articles. But when that happened in Tianjin, they sent riot police and ilegally arrested several practitioners. So later on 10 thousand practitioners did a peaceful rally in front of Zhongnanghai, they were recieved by the premier Zhu Rongji and talked, he said he was going to solve the problem.
So everyone left home in peace, they picked up all the garbage in the streets and left walking away. The protest was considered ordered and legitimate because the practitioners merely stood up in silence and out of the streets in front of Zhongnanghai. The next day, Jiang Zemin banned Falun Gong, and they innitiated a massive anti falun gong propaganda and a nationwide persecution, illegally arresting many practitioners the same day.
Falun Gong wasnt being political, they just went to the government to ask for the release of the practitioners illegally imprisoned in Tianjin. It wasnt "subversion" it was a peaceful petition. But the fact that 10 thousand people gathering, peaceful or not, scared the CCP, they thought they could lose control somehow, so they banned the practice and initiated the persecution and propaganda campaign against Falun Gong.

In many areas in China, people are denied their pleas for justice and have nowhere to turn to when their rights are violated. When their family members are imprisoned ilegally, or they are ilegally evicted out of their homes, or when they are extorsioned by a CCP party member
Maybe you wont realize it until it hits you directly, its hard for many to be sensitive to others suffering because they are not true patriots

Actually, most people that use science to criticize Falun Gong usually make the biggest mistake a scientist could have done.
We all know that for a SECOND PERSON to see if another scientist's theory is valid, he/she needs to perform the experiment under the same environment, condition, procedure, etc. So they criticize FLG without even studying the book and do the things being taught in the book correctly, OF COURSE they won't find any proves.

Falun Gong is a cult and is just a mishmash of Chinese folk religion and superstition. The exercises are rudimentary qigong, inferior to Taijiquan or Medical Qigong. Li Hongzhi has claimed that David Copperfield used magical powers that can be attained from the practice of Falun Gong to walk through the Great Wall. Many people actually believed this drivel and have died, thinking they had supernatural powers and nothing could harm them. No wonder the Chinese people despise Falun Gong.

I'm an American citizen, but I own homes in China and I've spent enough time there and have enough friends there to know what it's like and how the people think, and I know that they despise Falun Gong as do my Chinese friends and my Chinese wife here. People speak freely in China, so I don't know where you get your propaganda from. But if you speak about breaking the law, as in any other country, you will be prosecuted. Falun Gong is an illegal cult in China, as it should be.

I can refer many movements as cult, but the fundamental factor that determines its classification is the hidden agendas in which with all honest truth Falun Dafa doesn't exhibit.

This is what I mean by people don't have the right to criticize Falun Dafa without reading the book at least once thoroughly on their own. You need to know Zhuan Falun is not an ordinary book where for one, the meanings can't/shouldn't be superficially deciphered by pulling out quotes like other academic writings. People and practitioners are only able to understand it after they systematically read it repeatedly while also genuinely improving their moral characters, aka heart nature.

Keeping a healthy body through qigong is a part of traditional chinese culture, its not just "Falun Gong's belief". Of course, most of the traditional culture was eliminated through the cultural revolution so i dont blame you, many mainlanders themselves dont know very well what their own culture is about.

i wasn't born in China or live in China. Qi gong = chinese aerobics excercise, it's good exercise but that's all there is too it. FLG is the bastardization of traditional Chinese culture as far as I know it. Chinese culture is based on Confucianism which is a strict moral code and not a "religion" build around worshiping other worldly beings.

Let me give you just a few among millions of examples of other wordly beings in chinese traditional culture and religions: In Daoist beliefs there is the Celestial Worthy of Original Commencement (Yuanshi tianzun), who "dwells in the supreme Great Canopy Heaven (Daluo tian)." And theres also the belief in innumerable daoist Inmortals (Xians). In buddhism theres the beliefs in Buddha Amithaba (Amituo Fo) who rules the Paradise of Ultimate Bliss.

And their parade was not related to the earthquake, its an anual parade, the banners said "ccp eliminated by heaven" "Heaven blesses china" and such. I saw videos of FLG arguing with Chinese pedestrians in Flushing I believe. The pedestrians were outraged that FLG were celebrating at a time where people should be somber. FLG are chanting something about karma and that really got people going.Now I can only find videos of NTDTV labeling this as persecution, when it was clearly just people exercising the right to freedom of speech.Either way it was inconsiderate of FLG to hold a parade at such a time, annual or not.

So the CCP knew about the Sichuan earthquake long before it happened, they kept silent about it, just as they kept silent about the SARS cases in China, then when the disaster came they started trying to blame Falun Gong saying that they were "interfering with donations" and "celebrating the earthquake of Sichuan". They were celebrating the world Falun Dafa day and at the same time telling people how the CCP did not tell Sichuan people about the earthquake.

again, the science is not yet available to predict earth quakes accurately. And i think the Chinese government learn from the mistakes during SARS. I've heard they've quarentined quite a few Mexicans and other foreigners during the swine flu scare. As I said you can't predict earthquakes accurately, so i don't understand what they would go saying that. I saw a video from a hand held camera from one of the people arguing with the FLGers, people seemed pretty pissed about FLG on the spot.

umm i think you have the science wrong. Earth Quakes are one of the things that scients have trouble predicting. I saw a documentary on discovery channel regarding earth quakes that suggested that the moons gravitation might cause earth quakes on fault lines, but thats only a theory. and they said there were too many factors to predict earth quakes accurately. Unless Chinese scientist are more advanced than Americans, but i highly doubt that. It might just be bs.

I read the article. You can foreshadow the probability of a quake of a fault line, but you can't pin point the exact date. You can label danger zones but that's all. The only way to avoid any casualties is to declare the areas uninhabitable. But cities like LA and many Japanese cities wouldn't exist if that was the case. It would be best if China can learn from Japan and rebuild these towns with quake resistant buildings.

Sure, but no precautionary measures were ever taken, and thats quite worrysome. They discovered quite a strong earthquake would come and nobody was ever warned by it, not even on TV. The normal procedure would be that on the media you'd see "A strong earthquake will be taking place in Sichuan over the next years/months" and then they start campaigns for educating the community on safety measures during earthquakes, but none of that happened. Its not a religion, its Xiulian. This is a term from traditional chinese culture, it means "Cultivation-Refinement" of one's own nature and body. The term Qigong was taken from the chinese texts "Internal Alchemy" and "Dao Zang" as a substitute for the name of Xiulian during the cultural revolution so that the people who taught these things wouldnt be persecuted and killed because of promoting "mixin" (superstition).

What i can say though is that, if hindus want to believe cow urine can cure sickness, they have the right to believe that. And they have the right not to be persecuted or killed because they believe in things we dont think are true or we disagree with.

True they do have the right to believe what ever. But to advertise that cow urine actually cure sickness when it clearly doesn't is dishonest. I think religions should be held to the same accountability as businesses, when they promises they make can't be delivered they should be held accountable.What is there to stop people from making random religion to con people when they can't be held accountable by hiding behind "freedom of religion".

Well, the word is very well used. The fact you dont think its happening doesnt mean its not happening. Theres even evidence of organ harvesting, and the UN Raporteur of Torture said 66% of victims of torture in China are Falun Gong practitioners.
People have the right to believe whatever they want without being tortured and killed for it.
And those principles are not vague, they are very valuable and important to society.

This topic came up in one of the forums i read. We came to conclusion was that many of the sources provided where FLG connected, some cases looked staged and some people actually had skin cancer but labeled as burned victims. And there was an actual report stated there was insufficient evidence to support FLG claims. I think the logical candidates for organ harvesting would be death row inmates, not nice but a least in death they would of done some good for someone.

Of course the sources are Falun Gong connected, several media in other countries dont want to mess around with China, especially because nowadays everyone wants to do business with China. If you criticize their human rights situation, they wont do business with you. People nowadays dont care too much for each other, all they care about is money and their own well being. Still, as far as i know, there have been interviews to Falun Gong practitioners in famous media outlets as well.

Well now, everyone chooses his own path. When the truth about this persecution is revealed, and you find that you supported the continuity of this persecution by defending the crimes of the communist party...well, lets just say, there is a chinese saying that goes "Good deeds are rewarded by heaven, bad deeds meet with retribution". You should think very seriously about that. If i were you, i wouldnt want the thought of supporting the death of so many innocent people on my conscience.

I have the documents? and no, google told me that. Google Robert Helvey and falun gong connection.I've read tax forms where people connected to NED authorized tax breaks for FLG organizations. And iam not supporting the CCP, I am supporting China.If the CCP were to work against the well being of the nation, I would protest.There are injustices,but overall they are strengthening Chinese economy.While FLG is working against that progress. As a Chinese it's not hard for me to decide.

I think supporting your country is basically supporting the basic freedoms to life and freedom of belief and expression.
Yes, china now has a market economy, in places like guangzhou, beijing, shanghai have a lot of money. But in the rest of the cities people are very poor and working conditions are terrible. Why do you think chinese products are so cheap? A lot of labor is from prisoners at labor camps or exploited workers from the countryside which are paid a misery for their work.

Besides, why do you think the communist party has survived until now? isnt market economy a non communist thing? They had to implement policies absolutely in contrast to their communist philosophy in order to survive after the tiananmen square massacre.
Take a look at things for what they are, there is tons and tons of evidence about the persecution of Falun Gong. Take a look at false fire, read the report on organ harvesting, look at the persecution cases, all very well documented and proven.

nothing is static in the world.One thing that makes me hopeful for China is that government learns to change over time.I hope they can improve more by getting rid of things that dont work and implementing more things that do work.One thing that needs imporvement is their ability to handle protesters/rioters and not over react everytime.Economy wise, theyve gotten smarter.False Fire is from NTDTV,And link to org harvest vid site is dead.There r sources dis/proving,my opinions are mixed at best.

that's why i think China need to grow more so more cities can be industrialized. If the government is destabilized it can disrupt the process and ultimately impede the modernization of poor rural areas.Shenzhen was one of poor countryside villages 20 years ago, now it's a metropolis, im sure many other cities will follow.Don't paint entire China as a labour camp because it's not. There are terrible working conditions that exist, that's why modernization is the top priority in China.

It's not uncommon for the CIA to prop up anti government organizations,Taliban is an example. With the Americans flexing it's military muscles right now globally it doesn't really put my suspicions to rest. Im pretty sure the CIA has something to do with then Iranian riots one way or another. It really doesnt help that FLG is based in USA either.This is more than just a matter of religious belief, its just a piece in the global struggle for control.Theres many independent documentaries on this.

If what FLG claiming is true, then i have sympathy for you. But either way I cannot agree with what FLG advocates, the collapse of the Chinese government. An event that can lead to civil war and economic disaster in China. I am simply basing my opinion on which scenario is worse. Many Americans are angry with their government waging constant wars and horrible economic policies, but it's collapse is the last thing on their mind.

Well, Falun Gong just want the persecution to stop. Some practitioners say the CCP will fall because they believe that through the persecution the CCP generated karma for persecuting and hurting so many people. The Tuidang movement is because they believe that if you agree with the CCP and defend it, its like supporting the persecution which is a bad deed, thats why they ask chinese if they want to quit, and they can sign that they quit with an alias, its all about what you feel in your heart.

Look honestly, setting aside all matters of politics, if you believe that the principles of Truth Benevolence and Tolerance are good for humanity, and you realize that this persecution is wrong, then thats all that the Falun Gong practitioners want you to know. They dont need you to come and learn Falun Gong or to advocate for the fall of the CCP or any of such things, they just want to send that message in as many different ways as possible, so that as many people as possible understand that.

I don't think it's the religious beliefs as strange as they might be that's the main problem, FLG is getting nailed most likely because of it's political stance. I do think people should have the right to any opinions, but China's not ready for it yet, hopefully this can change overtime, but it won't be over night.

Well in the begining they had no political stance though, they were even promoted by the government.Then they got banned and they started spreading the news about their persecution.I also hope this persecution will be over,of course,as you well said,changes dont come over night,but if you dont take the first step now, youll never begin right? Hopefully, change will come in that respect.
At least i think we understand each other regardless of our different thinking and views, and thats great.

Why would they get banned when they were being promoted? Something must of changed or gone wrong in FLG. Even the begining it was wierd, Li Hong Zhi creating this religion because he received enlightenment. Sorry it sounds like a scam to me.

It all began when Li Hongzhi separated himself from the China Qigong Scientific Research Society, which is the means the CCP uses to control Qigong. He separated because kept asking him to charge money, but the teaching of Falun Gong is free. And Falun Gong is not a religion, its xiulian, which is the original name of qigong. The fact that you think it is a religion is because of the communist propaganda saying its an "evil cult" which is absolutely ridiculous and made up.

Then after that, propaganda campaigns defaming Falun Gong began on newspapers. So practitioners went to the local media to clarify and tell them Falun Gong is good. Many apologized for their articles. But when that happened in Tianjin, they sent riot police and ilegally arrested several practitioners. So later on 10 thousand practitioners did a peaceful rally in front of Zhongnanghai, they were recieved by the premier Zhu Rongji and talked, he said he was going to solve the problem.

So everyone left home in peace, they picked up all the garbage in the streets and left walking away. The protest was considered ordered and legitimate because the practitioners merely stood up in silence and out of the streets in front of Zhongnanghai. The next day, Jiang Zemin banned Falun Gong, and they innitiated a massive anti falun gong propaganda and a nationwide persecution, illegally arresting many practitioners the same day.

Falun Gong wasnt being political, they just went to the government to ask for the release of the practitioners illegally imprisoned in Tianjin. It wasnt "subversion" it was a peaceful petition. But the fact that 10 thousand people gathering, peaceful or not, scared the CCP, they thought they could lose control somehow, so they banned the practice and initiated the persecution and propaganda campaign against Falun Gong.

The Vatican is supposed to be just the religious capital for Catholicism, but do you know how many world leaders pay homage to this place? The power religion scares me some times.

I'm sorry when someone is teaching mythology as reality people should know. It's like why Americans won't let people teach Creationism in schools. But China went one step further and no one can teach it anywhere. The parts about compassion and tolerance is fine, but diving into space, other dimensions and superhuman abilities is too far. And to actively let people teaching all this is credible science is not good. When will religion stop plaguing the world.

anyone in china can teach kungfu and qigong. Do the old ladies doing qi gong exercises in the park need a license? So the government got mad at Li Hong Zhi because he was being too humble and kind, is that what he says? It has all the makings of religion and a cult to me. If believing in magical wheels in you stomach constitute a religions belief i don't know what will. It sure isn't a scientific or a cultural belief. I saw a documentary dissecting Scientology and I can see many similarities.

In Daoism and many many qigong practices they believe in cultivating a cluster of energy in the abdomen called Dantian. There is also the belief of cultivation of a Falun in one of the buddhist sects of tibetan lamaism. qi, gong, dantian, qiao (accupoints), energy circulation in the body, all these are beliefs from traditional chinese medicine and qigong, not just Falun Gong.

Daoism, buddhism is imbeded so deep into the Chinese culture it's impossible to up rooted. While FLG is a new and a bastardize version of this culture. There is a whole section in the main book of the practice talking about eliminating the "attachment of zealotry", which means Falun Gong practitioners must not be "fanatics" and such. If you really want to support the killing and torturing of the Falun Gong practitioners by the CCP, fine then, its your path. Everyone chooses their own path. Check out the teachings and see if its truly an "evil cult" as the chinese communist propaganda says. life is a contradiction eh. Evolution evidence: fossils, biology studies, as genetic engineering develops gain more insight on how organisms actually changes overtime. Religion evidence: Old books. Science learns over time, if something is proven wrong it will be corrected. if religion is wrong it stays wrong. Why do people not believe in Zeus anymore, why can people believe in one god but not another?

I don't support torture, and i do not believe the claims that the FLGers are making. There were probably authorities that abused their power, but I do not believe there is a systematic torture of these victims of a scam. They need help not torture. What FLG does is spin half truths to gain sympathy from bleeding heart westerner.if you associate yourself with a cult you need help, haven't all the failed religions shown you anything? the final part is what I dislike the most. It is the reason that it's banned. Drop the politics and teach what you gotta teach, unless politics are a part of the teachings. Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Bo Xilai, Jia Qinglin and Wu Guangzheng have been indicted for genocide against Falun Gong by the national court of law of spain, and have 4-6 weeks to reply to rogatory letters, lest an international arrest warrant be issued.
If a court of law has enough evidence to validate charges of genocide against these communist leaders, I would say the evidence of this genocide is quite substantial. So the existence of the persecution and genocide is basically a fact now.

Third, how can they commit genocide against they own ethnic group that is absurd. Dont you understand that human rights are universal? There is no law jurisdiction for arresting criminals for violating human rights. Its not "Chinas affair" its a human rights affair. Rawandan military officers have also been indicted by the spain national court.

The whole Rwanda genocide is a result of French colonialism and American political puppetry of the region, you are right, human rights should be universal, but the very nations that champion for it is also the source of some of the worst abuses. Chinese people inside China are capable to handle their own problems, if 1.3 billion people wants change they will get it. Foreign countries should solve their own problems, especially America, few countries have ended up well where they have been.
